Fran's service & food is always amazing! Highly recommend their breakfast! Especially their homemade beans

This Diner reminds me of when the farmers would go for breakfast and stop in for a wholesome meal. Its quite cozy and the service is very Everything was excellent. They use fresh ingredients. That's a big deal for me. There was fresh Spinach in my omelette and that was a very nice surprise. Nothing was greasy. The Mailhots were quite tasty, and the home fries were also impressive. If you're in the neighborhood I highly recommend you stop into Fran's and enjoy!

Fran's is everything I look for in a breakfast diner! Off the beaten path, recommended by regulars, small and quaint. There was one server with the assistance of a host (who brought us our drinks) and it was a great casual experience. We were seated quickly, didn't have to wait a long time before ordering, and received our food in a reasonable time as well. One of my favorite parts was the available options for coffee creamers! (Something you don't see very often at other restaurants.) They had a coffee mate Ego Waffle creamer that has since became my husband's favorite. I ordered the Greek omelette and it was a great size and delicious tasting. The fruit bowl was the best I've had at any local breakfast restaurant with a selection of fruit that people actually want to eat (no honeydew melon, lol!) Typical offerings for food on the menu like biscuits and gravy to satisfy everyone. Looking forward to coming back!

Honestly, I found this place because it seemed like the only decent place with breakfast items, and I'm SO glad I went there! It's such a gem!! My boyfriend and I got eggs Benedict (he got it with sausage, and I got the Florentine and added ham because I couldn't decide) and they were THE BEST EGGS BENEDICT I've had in I don't even know how long! Service was quick, personable and genuine cared about your experience. And the decor was so darn adorable! The plates and decorations seemed like they were straight out of someone's home, definitely showed some personality!! I'm going to be there every weekend from now on. OH and they give out cute little notecards at the end to track Covid, and I thought that was awesome! *HIGHLY RECOMMEND*

Fresh and hot defined these apps perfectly! The sticks were warm and stringy, the pretzels were warm, soft, and salty. The cheese dip was actually delicious and tasted nothing like a can mix. For the main courses we had the home made mac and cheese that was topped with pulled pork which was sauced in Sweet Baby Rays and the Loaded Nachos topped with the Firehouse's award winning chili. The food all came out sized for a table of 8 with savory and sweet hints of deliciousness! The waitress was welcoming, outgoing, and offered sound advice on food choices. The cook staff was timely and efficient, and the bar tender was busy busy slinging cups full of the nectar of God (BEER!!)! The Firehouse House ambience lived up to the name with firefighter equipment, first responder memorabilia, and crafty decor. The only downside to this establishment is that is dark and throws a dive bar vibe. 9/10... we will be coming back here for sure (and ordering less food)!!

Our waitress never once checked on us--we had to flag her down every single time, which made ordering drinks and food a chore rather than a relaxing night out. But honestly, the worst part of the night wasn't even the service. It was the fact that a couple brought their newborn to the bar and stayed from 8 PM to midnight. With loud music blasting, they passed the baby around and parade it around on the dance floor, never feeding the child once, but had no problem changing it on the air hockey table. It was disturbing to watch, and frankly, it made the entire atmosphere uncomfortable. A bar is no place for a newborn, especially late at night in that kind of environment. The only saving grace of the night was the band, Trans Am--they were absolutely phenomenal. They put on a great performance, but unfortunately, the energy in the bar was completely off. Nobody was dancing or really engaging with the music, which was a shame because they deserved a much better crowd. If management allows this kind of thing to happen, I don't see myself coming back. There are plenty of other dive bars that at least provide decent service and an environment where I don't have to question someone's parenting choices all night

The carpets are really in need of a good cleaning. The hostess was kind and welcoming and the waitress was timely and punctual with all provided services. The food was good. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and barroom pretzels as appetizers. The mushrooms were well cooked and seasoned well. The pretzels were delicious and well cooked. For the main courses we orders the coconut shrimp with onion rings and the Boston Lobster pie with baked beans and sweet potato fries. The lunch portion of the coconut shrimp was well cooked and visually appealing. The lobster pie was a fair share and well cooked and topped with bread crumbs and soaked in butter.

I never really considered checking it out until my in-laws suggested we go for lunch one day. I always just saw the sign and kept on driving. Now, it is good... and as a bariatric patient, I am usually pretty hesitant to try new places simply because of my restrictions; however, I was pleased to find that there were options that worked for my post-op food plan. Yes, there's a lot of fried options, and there's a lot of pasta, but the stir-fry is what got me saying, "yeah I'll give it a go," and later, "yeah, I'd come back." The food has been consistent, and with a young child (who is a fantastic eater and not that picky... but still), that's huge for us. The service has always been great. They are accommodating, punctual, and friendly. Our most recent visit was extra impressive, because our server happily made sure to spend a little extra time and had so much patience with my five year old who is learning how to order for himself. Give it a go, friends. It's a pretty solid spot.

Kristina, our server, was outstanding--super friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She went above and beyond by letting our son turn the model train off and back on, which totally made his day (and ours too). Moments like that really stick with you! We also want to give a big shoutout to Patrick, who took the time to show Noah their awesome fish tank and chat with him. It's rare to find staff who are not only professional but also take such a personal interest in creating a great experience for kids. Now onto the food--the beet salad was phenomenal (fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented), and my wife had the chicken stew, which she said was comfort food at its finest. We couldn't resist grabbing a slice of pie since it was on special--let's just say we didn't leave a crumb behind. If you're ever in the Richmond area, we'd love to return the favor! Stop by Morning Moose Coffee and try our handcrafted drinks and fresh mini donuts--we love meeting fellow food lovers and locals. Apps Asparogi Avvolti: Prosciutto wrapped asparagus with fontina cheese and balsamic glaze. Sweet young asparagus, wrapped in salty prosciutto with nutty fontina melted over the topped, drizzled with the perfect about if sweet glaze. Fried Calamari: calamari, fried cherry peppers, arugula, and cherry pepper aïoli. Fresh, breading was light and crispy. My only complaint here is there weren't enough tentacles, a lot of rings. The brick and wooden beam architecture from the old milll remains which provides such an aesetically pleasing atmosphere. It is great that this building has been able to be repurposed . We sat at the bar which is a full bar. My son dines here often and recommened some dishes he had tried. There were many dishes on the menu I wanted to try! Garlic knots were the first things out and they were very tasty and addictive. My son decided on the linguini carbonara, although not a classic carbonara dish, it remains one of his favorites. I tried it and it was creamy, indulgent, fresh, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. I chose the gnocchi with in house made bolognese sauce topped with ricotta cheese. I loved it and it tasted even better heated up the next day. Entrees come with a choice of soup or salad; he went with the salad and I had the homemade Italian wedding soup. We were both pleased with our choices. The portions were quite generous, service was on point all evening, and the entire establishment and restrooms were immaculately clean and well organized. Large parking lot, but heard it fills up fast at this popular spot. I highly recommend and look forward to returning.
