Had breakfast here for the first time with my friend yesterday. We ordered and shared the 3's - 3 eggs, bacon 3 pancakes. Can't go wrong with the eggs and bacon, however the pancakes were not fluffy, they were hard and taste like it's been sitting there for awhile. Ordered Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs from Door Dash. Order a side of biscuits and side of gravy. I only received one of the biscuits. The gravy all over my food and the side of gravy was bitter, it could be spoiled. Terrible. Sweet Sweet spot. So super friendly! Clean and spacious. Bathrooms are clean too! Is it these kind of things that matter a lot to me. The music they play is "oldies". Just a fun relaxing environment. I've been here twice now for breakfast. I am from out of town but I will definitely return when in town. Reminds me of a small town cozy caring respectful place to come. I had the unfortunate experience witnessing the Restraunt owner unleash his anger upon a group of female senior citizens having a luncheon. An obviously well done steak was being returned to the cook as it was ordered medium rare. The restaurant owner took the plate from the waitress and harshly told the patron who ordered the item "in his opinion the steak wasn't overcooked & she wasn't going to get a free steak" (she didn't ask for another). From where I was sitting, i seen the well done, brown meat that didn't look appetizing. The unsuspecting, bewildered faces of those woman, made my heart ache as they were disrespected by the restaurant owner and his judgmental, harsh tone toward them seemed unreasonable. When will this hateful behavior end? Now our Brentwood seniors are susceptible to verbal abuse in our local eateries? Shame on you Dads Restaurant owners. I will never, ever, patronage this establishment and to the group of seniors at that table, you ladies were gracious, and classy, for I have the upmost respect for each of you as you're our seniors of Brentwood. read more

we like to go here for breakfast but the problem is the people that sit in this place don't mind dropping the f word and having explicit sexual conversations in front of children. My children are three and a half years old so exposing them to the f word is not ideal on a Saturday morning as a parent. The wait staff is young, forgetful and not customer service oriented. We showed staff the mold on the inside of white toast, in all fairness it was hard to spot and we didn't notice till we split the toast for the kids. At least they could of offered to not charge us for coffee? Nope. We used to like the Antioch Dad's cafe. I hope they improve on customer service and the gravy for country fried steak. read more

We decided to come here for a late breakfast last Sat. We love the fact that they have so many booths to choose from. Paola was our server. Started out with drinks followed by our food. I got the California Omelet with SD toast, and Country Potatoes $10.99 The omelet was delicious, the only bummer was I specifically asked for my potatoes to be crispy, but they weren't. In fact they were sitting in quite a bit of oil, so I had to try and eat the crispy ones leaving the rest. Their toast is SO SMALL!! Dad's cafe has that small town family owned diner feel. When you walk in the kind hostess greets you and promptly seats you. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast as well as two pancakes. The breakfast I got came with hash browns and toast as well. The steak itself came out and it looked a little bit too over-seared. Upon taking a bite, the steak was definitely over seared and lacked any type of seasoning or flavor. It was however cooked to a medium, which is what I asked for. The hash browns looked very good. The hash browns were crisp on the exterior, but unfortunately the interior was extremely soft and mushy and had the consistency closer to mashed potatoes rather than hash browns and lacked any seasoning. I ordered my eggs scrambled and those were cooked appropriately. I feel they skimped on their toast as they only provided one piece of toast that was cut in half, most places I've ever had breakfast at the standard seems to be two slices of toast not one. I'm a fan of toast so that was disappointing. The pancakes I got taste wise were very good, however they were on the drier side and seemed to crumble. The staff was great and were quick to grab your drink/food order and provide refills with food. Overall the food is your standard diner quality food, with a great and friendly staff. Ive been to Dads for breakfast a few times and was not disappointed. It's so hidden, I forget it's there. Today, I really wanted a salad but didn't want to drive far from my job. So, I tried the crispy Buffalo chicken salad. Let me start by saying that the service at pickup was great. Dad was pleasant and kind. When my order was ready, he had given me enough dressing to actually eat the whole salad (this is always an issue at salad spots)! The chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy so it gave the salad a great texture! The avocado was fresh and not skimped on. It was an overall great salad. The presentation even in the Togo box was awesome! The portion was fair for what I paid. I'll definitely be back to try another salad! read more
