Ok, I will not return. The atmosphere would be cute in an "old beer place" kind of way IF the food was good and the service met expectation. We are pretty easy-going customers so it pains me to say- don't come here. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm. There weren't many other people there. The hostess got side-tracked on the way to seating us and stopped to have a convo (though not lengthy) with another staff person. Ugh. We ordered appetizers and beers + a Cuban. (Fried Brussels, loaded fries, 2 street tacos, spinach dip & Cuban sandwich). Omg. It took forever. We have two kids and honestly, most places tend to notice that and not make us languish. Good thing our kids are well-mannered. It really took an insanely long time AND there were only three other tables. The food: you can make it at home. I would heat some frozen steak fries, open a can of black beans, melt some tasteless medium cheddar and toss some chopped tomatoes, avocado, cilantro and jalapeño on top. I cannot believe we paid for it. The spinach dip was good but that's easy. Warm spinach dip is really hard to mess up! I would never recommend this place. read more

Such a wonderful pancake!! Also the environment is fantastic! The original owners daughter is now the one who runs things and she even writes Christmas cards to all her customers who leave their address in her guest book! She hand wrote 500+ cards last year!! So cool. And a great experience! And the food was delicious of course and cooked right in front of you! read more

Wow!! First time here and I was blown away. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. We sat on the very spacious patio, and I had the Cowboy burger which was fantastic. I've been there 4 times and pretty happy with the experience. I've recommend the place to a few friends and they also seem to enjoy the place very much. Last Saturday night I took my girl friend and mom for a birthday dinner. Top ten worse dinners. Her ordered the dads burger and it had larger chunks of un-editable fat. It was pretty gross. She took it home and gave it to her dog. Now the dog wants to go back to Dads kitchen. My Gf's salad had a pubic hair in it. ThaTs what it looked like. I don't need to go back. read more

Went there today in fair oaks. Service was lousy. And if you ask for domestic draft they'll lell you that they carry craft beers. But we do have hams that we use for cooking. 1st time and last time. The fries were freezer burned and tasted like crayons. read more

Try their Philly Cheese Steak, awesome sandwich but then, they have an awesome menu! Love it all! Have been coming to Dad's since they opened and staff is great!. Memo, Nichole, Liz, Brian, Amy to name a few make it a most friendly environment - kind of like a Cheers environment. Servers are most attentive, food is great, great beer selection. The owner Suki has had her challenges with personnel and menu changes but she works hard to please and has made this a great place. Tuesdays are ALL DAY Happy Hour in restaurant and bar! Love Dad's ! This place was awesome! We went here for an end of the year staff party. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, which was not easy to do because we were a party of about 20. They have a great beer selection so I tried the Double IPA. We come here often for dinner with friends and family and it's always a good time. The staff is very outgoing, friendly, and on top of things. The bar is well-stocked and always has sports playing on the tvs, which is a plus! The food is great; I order the veggie quinoa burger or the green machine sandwich and both are delicious! If you like spice, order the habanero fries, with or without blue cheese, they are a perfect side dish. However, every so often the onion rings are undercooked, but when they are cooked they're amazing. I recommend Dad's for a great meal and great service for a reasonable price. read more

Came here again to see if things would be better than a couple months ago. Nope! The service was non existent. We never got our silverware after being told twice it was being washed. The women's bathroom was flooded and the door was wide open to the public, the computer wasn't working correctly. When we wanted to pay our bill, we were ignored and made to wait forever just to pay. The manager did treat us to dessert but it just didn't make up for the lack of service. Won't be back! read more

Great find! Always knew they were there, finally tried them and now hooked. Since our first visit 3 weeks ago, we have been back 3 times. Great food, service, and beer selection. The veggie cous-cous my wife got was to die for. I've had the Dad's Burger and the philly. Both quite good. The habenero FF were a bit of a let down. Had then a couple times, wish they were true to their word. Habenero=melt your face, usually. Mild at best here. Friendly and outgoing service, will return. read more

I'm usually a fan of this place but recently I've noticed service is pretty slow. Waited around 20 mins tonight just to order my food and they did not appear to be that busy.I had the meatloaf which tasted bland and mushy.Should prob stick to the sandwiches and burgers next time. I really wanted to like this place. It has a great location with an outside seating area and i heard that they make great bloody marys. But i was lied to. The food was TERRIBLE. Being in a customer service business , I can't really blame the staff , was just put off when we sat out on the patio and there were several flies that seemed " at home " I figured if we went inside, ...problem solved, there were at least as many flying around inside. As my wife and I were spending our anniversary together , of course I wanted the day to be perfect , really the food was not all that great either, the best part was their music , we made the best of it and even slow danced while we were waiting for our breakfast. Maybe I'm a bit critical , I just find it rare that I find many places that cook better than myself. Their biscuits and gravy was so bad I pushed it away for the flies to enjoy. I've been here several times before, as a couple and as a large group. One thing I can say is that the food here is consistently delicious and always too much for me to eat (yay leftovers!). The inconsistent part is the service: I've had a couple of occasions where we were left on our own for quite a while after being seated, to the point where we walked up and asked for someone to come take our order. Or after our order was placed, we waited a very long time for our food to be served. Then, the very last time we came, we were attended so well by a waitress and someone in training. I will remain optimistic...again, food is great, time will tell about the consistency of service. read more

While the food is good the service, while usually good, was horrible last night. Hostess and MOD were helpful but our waitress was unacceptable. We asked for water 3 different times before we go some (each time to be told I'll grab it right now). Waited 45 minutes with no food while guests around us who arrived well after we got there were eating their dinner. Asked when we would get our appetizer. Oops I forgot to put it in. No real apology. No "Let me comp you a beer" just bad service. Really too bad as we like this place usually. Everything was delicious! We had a baby with us and the staff was very friendly with him and us. The cowboy burger had lots of bacon on it where as most places you maybe get two small pieces. Charming, lots of personality - patio seating great. The ports bells mushrooms were awesome, as well as the clam chowder. Great find!!
