I went to Good Nine Korean BBQ awhile ago and unfortunately didn't take photos of the menu so I can't remember the names of the dishes but I do remember thoroughly enjoying the food and their service. It was a group of 5 and we went on a Saturday afternoon with no reservation and were seated right away. Their space is really big and what I loved the most is that their chairs have a compartment built in for you to place your bags and other items. Their service was also really good! The staff were so quick and took the time to explain the menu. We got 2 types of beef and a veggie platter, the team told us exactly how long to cook it for and everything was soooo delicious! I also tried this canned drink they had which was a fermented rice drink, I was a big fan. The restaurant is cute! The servers were very quick and attentive. We got the Good9 Signature combo, steamed eggs and spicy cold noodles and they were all good! The beef short ribs that came with that combo was so good! The side dishes were meh tho. read more

The service here is always top tier, always attentive, making sure our meat is cooked correctly, and refilling our side dishes as needed. Came here for a couple of occasions and had a great time each time. I find the meat quality is reasonable for the price and I really enjoyed their soft tofu soup. The crowd favourite has to be the corn cheese and the grilled bean sprouts and kimchi! The place is normally pretty busy on the weekend during dinner, so make sure to make reservations before coming. It's not too dark or loud majority of the time and has a couple TVs around the restaurant for people to watch! read more

Easy to make reservations and they have a bigger sized parking lot on Alexandra Road. They have you scan for the menu but you cannot order online, you need to order with the staff. Every table gets some lettuce/garlic/jalapeno and a salad but they forgot about ours and didn't give it until we realized and asked for it. Meats are good quality and they have a variety of sauces to dip. They will stand at the table and cook for you but if you prefer to cook it yourself you can let them know. Fried chicken was great and piping hot. They also let you have unlimited banchan. If you have more than 3 people they only give you little sharing plates rather than bowls. read more

Korean BBQ place on Alexandra Rd aka restaurant street in Richmond. There's parking at the plaza but it's busy on a Friday night. Went there on a Friday at 6pm-ish and the place was busy but not completely full, so no wait for a table. Mid-sized space that looks fairly new and clean inside. The tables are circular with the grill in the center, and its an elevated grill top rather than the recessed one at most other KBBQ places. The low-back chairs open up into a storage basket that you can put your jacket inside. Menu is available via scanning QR code, but you still have to order from the staff. We got the spicy pork belly (with lettuce for wraps), the salt and oil beef rib fingers, and the fried rice which is cooked on the grill top. The staff cooks the meat for you on the grill. The rib fingers are tender, while the spicy pork belly make for a good lettuce wrap with the kimchi and bean sprouts they also put on the grill. To wrap it up, the fried rice is cooked after all of the meat, so the rice can soak up the flavors and grease from meat left on the grill. Pretty tasty overall. Also you get 8 banchans for table. Overall bill was little under $80, which was a little lower than I expected. read more

We had always received great service at good nine up until yesterday. Our group was seated in the private room and were scolded by the waitress Rachel for maybe not meeting"minimum spend" even though we did. She was passive aggressive and made comments about us ordering dishes staggered rather than all at once. She did not smile the whole time and made us feel unwelcome. We will be going elsewhere for our group dinners unless we get an apology from management. read more

First time here for lunch. The food was very good and they cooked at the table for us. We got the combo A and B, that was enough to share for 3 ppl. There was only two of us so my friend had lots of leftovers to take home. Some of the banchans they served was different and tasted really good. The beef tofu soups that came with the combo were really good. This place was a 4.5 if based on food alone. I would definitely come back to try the other meat items with a larger group of people. I just didn't like the fact that we had to request for the rice and lettuce when it comes with the combo and the wait staff weren't crazy busy when we were there. This is a busy fun spot serving up high quality meats on a different cooking surface. Korean cast iron lids are the cooking vessel and the staff do most of the cooking at table side. They are super fast in getting all the ingredients to your table and refill the banchan quickly. Let's talk about the banchan for a minute, the kimchi was good but not very spicy, the honey potatoes were soft with a thin honey water, the salad was underdressed. These are refilled as requested. Had luxury combo for 4, cold noodles and marinated pork. The A5 waygu beef was very tender. More than the A5 waygu at chubby cattle...cheesy corn was good but a touch too sweet. Galbi soup was good. Cold noodle was good. One star off as Banchan not great and while the server cooking the bbq was nice, he either tried serving the meat way too raw (including the pork) or left meat on too long. The tables are crowded for parties of 6; half our food had to stay in the serving cart and it was shoulder to shoulder. Seats are like storage ottoman to keep jackets and purses from getting smoky smelling. Good vents, not too smoky. Fairly loud atmosphere. Overall a nice bbq with great quality meat...among the most impressive waygu..absolutely melts in your mouth. Would go again. read more

OMG this is the best Korean BBQ restaurant that I've ever been to!!! This place is fair priced for the quality and the food here is soooo good. The meat quality here is amazing and all the sides paired super well as well!! You have to get the fried rice at the end to complete the meal!!! definitely one of the better korean places i have been to in metro vancouver. I came for a sunday dinner. My Korean food/kbbq expectations are high - the bar to beat for me are the typical korean places in LA/koreatown, which are top notch. This place is not at that level. But it is good enough. They are on the expensive side, but not crazy. Service is pretty good. Our main server was a friendly and chatty guy, made the experience that much better. Real korean guy, came from korea, also lived in LA for a few years so knew exactly what I was talking about in terms of quality. The staff cook the food for you here. We ordered for bbq: marinated outer skirt steak - excellent beef brisket - good chicken bulgogi - good spicy sausage - good, but on the sweet side mixed veg - as you'd expect also steamed egg and a kimchi pork stew they do not offer bbq combos - you pick each item a-la-carte. The real unique them for them is the bbq cooking surface, which unlike most places that use a grill grate, they use a cast iron pot lid - which the guy tells me is very traditional and ancient for koreans - maybe his great grandparents era and earlier. There are no holes in the cook surface, so the fat drips down to the perimeter and then drains into a bowl. So what they do is put the veg around the edges, then the meat in the centre. The beef fat renders and the drips down to the veg, and you basically get mushrooms and veg fried in beef fat. Actually delicious. Their meat quality is good - skirt steak and chicken bulgogi were great steamed egg was just ok - overpriced. kimchi stew - bland the sides were ok - candied potatoes - too mushy seaweed salad - good kimchi - fresh one was good over-fermented cabbage kimchi and bean sprout kimchi for the grill - good pickled radish - fine served with the usual condiments: salt ssamjang wasabi - the fake neon green horseradish kind cho ganjang - although didnt have chilis or garlic slices or anything in it. noticeably absent was sesame oil fairly spacious parking lot - register when you come into the restaurant - free for a few hours. casual vibe, clean place. good service. Overall a very solid 4/5. They have lots of beers on tap. i would come back for kbbq and have some beers if I didnt have to work the next day. read more

Very fun Korean BBQ in a popular plaza. Staff was attentive and welcoming, and happily accommodated the baby in our party. Staff grill for the table and regularly check in. We ordered a variety of cooked foods (seafood pancake, spicy rice cakes, cold noodles, and beef tartare) in addition to different cuts of meats for grilling. Some of the best Korean BBQ I've everrrr had. Truly felt like I was teleported back to Seoul upon entering this massive restaurant. All the cuts of meat we ordered were such high quality and of course, our server took the liberty of regularly returning to our table to fulfill requests and cook our meat so we could keep the soju shots going with ease. Anyone who knows me knows I hate managing the grill during KBBQ, I'm simply too busy crafting the perfect bite. Thankfully, I didn't have to lift a finger while dining here. Good Nine excels at food quality, menu selection, price and chill vibe. Kinda like a cool place in Seoul, except it's Richmond. They've got all the Korean accents like storage space underneath your seat to keep things safe and keep your clothes from smelling what you just ate. Talking about that, the grill surface is way better than the ones that grill against an open flame sputtering smoke and odours all over the place. Service is top notch and super attentive. Order the marinated Skirt steak and pork belly as they really compliment each other. The Japchae, cheesy steamed egg and cheesy corn are great fillers and are great for the less adventurous. read more
