First time going to Daiichi Ramen for lunch. It was a very clean restaurant and the food was delicious! Service was also excellent. My daughter and I both had the special combo with 1 choice. I chose shoyu ramen+fried rice. She had miso ramen+chicken katsu. Both were tasty and filling. The broth for the ramen was light yet flavorful and the katsu was tender and crispy. Would definitely order that again. The only thing that wasn't exceptional was the pork in the ramen. It was slightly chewy, and wasn't as tender as I've had at other places. Wednesday June 18, 2025. We decided to come here after the movie Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning at Consolidated Theaters Kahala. First time, we coming here. Parking is limited with all the other businesses here. It was 9:00pm. So, had plenty parking spaces available. I ordered the Miso Combo with Fried Rice and Gyoza. I only ate the ramen and 2 gyoza and I was full. I had to take home the 2 gyoza with the fried rice for another meal. Lol. Service was friendly and fast. The food came out in a short while. I Uber eats this show you Ramen and it was probably the worst Ramen. I've had on island. The meat was gray and tasted like it had been out for days. The noodles are completely stuck together, even though I poured in the broth and microwaved it the broth itself was very watery and flavorless. I ran in and grabbed dinner as the hubby ate at Capriotti's. Both eateries are located at the New Ku'ono Marketplace in Kahala. To my surprise there was actually a waitlist and people were lounging in the wait area. I maneuvered around people to order my takeout. I got the Ramen Black Garlic Special Combo No.2 with four piece gyoza and calamari $17.25. Everything was good. The char siu was tender with bits of fat in it. The broth was nicely seasoned even though it could have used more of the black garlic oil. The gyoza was stuffed with pork and veggie filling. The calamari rings were fried to a perfect crisp. They both paired well with their respective sauces that were put in my takeout bag, which I appreciate. They were busy, but the wait wasn't that long. We didn't have to make reservations to come here to dine, but I would recommend coming here early if you don't want to fight for parking in the Ku'ono Marketplace parking lot. As I entered the restaurant, we were greeted right away & got a table instantly. Menus and water were dropped after we were seated and after looking over the menu, I decided to get the Mochiko Chicken Curry on Rice. My homie ended up getting the Mapo Tofu on Fried Noodles. What can I say about the grub? I would say that my Mochiko Chicken Curry was pretty good, generous portions, but I wished they offered different levels of spiciness like the other curry places I've been to in the past. I am glad I found this ramen spot located in the Kuono marketplace which I didn't realize was there. A great area across from Kahala mall which seemed to have a lot of good food places and other services. This isn't a fancy place but great for groups and people looking for fast service, good food and decent prices. Came here for a quick dinner before a movie across the street. Me & my daughter wanted ramen, got that and a lot more! We got the side order of kimchi and a side of potato croquette. The kimchi was fresh, tangy and good. The croquettes had a good taste, crunchy on the outside and soft potato on the inside. For the croquette they use "local" katsu sauce (like the old Grace's Drive In) that's slightly more ketchupy and red, vice the Japanese katsu sauce that's more brown and has no ketchup. I prefer the latter, but I can see how they cater to local crowds with the local sauce. It's on the side so you can choose to dip or not. I got the spicy beef ramen with an extra egg for a small charge. I thought the egg would be semi-soft-boiled but it was hard-boiled. Slightly disappointed but undaunted, I finished almost all of it. It wasn't too spicy, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish my ramen especially since I'm a spice-wimp. We both enjoyed everything, and they are very efficient. They got us out of there in time for our movie, the two servers hustle around the place and are efficient. I like the large posters that entice you to try different things with large photos. Today my hubby, brother in law and I were looking for something to keep our bellies warm in a flash flood rainy day. We found parking right away close to the store front. I'm a small eater so my mini udon was perfect for me, slightly salty for my taste but in all fairness, I don't add too much seasoning to my food regularly. There was a lot of wakame in my bowl. I loved it! My brother in law said his shio ramen was just enough. Hubby said the tonkotsu ramen was good too. We shared the sides. We all agreed that it was tasty! The gyoza was hot and plump. The chicken katsu was crispy and not greasy at all. Overall, it was a 4.5 star experience for me. The server checked on us enough but not too much to intrude on our lunch. Came here since I was craving ramen and it was the closest 4-star ramen restaurant near my house, but I should've just drove 5 more miles to get some better ramen in Kapahulu. This place is located in the same shopping center as Kahala Mkt and Wholesale Unlimited, next to Dry Bar. I arrived for an early lunch and there was literally just one other customer in there. That should've been my que to leave. I got the Special Combo for $11.95. I chose the mini black garlic ramen (it's $1.50 extra) with 4 pc gyoza. I'm glad I got the mini because it wasn't that good. The noods were like Sun Noodles. The black garlic wasn't strong at all, and the soup was rather bland. The gyoza didn't arrive until 5 min after I finished my ramen, and they weren't worth waiting for. Each one of them fell apart when I picked them up. This is a place to come if you're nursing a hangover and need some noods to cure it. On a good note, the restaurant itself is clean and spacious with comfortable chairs. My daughter and I decided to eat dinner at this location. This location is a little bigger than the location in Pearl City. The waitress was really nice. When I ordered a diet coke, she just gave me a can but no cup of ice which I had to ask for. The location in Pearl City automatically gives it to you. The food tastes pretty much the same as the location in PC.. I believe the restroom was behind the curtain on the side. Food came out pretty quickly. I definitely love eating at Daichi Ramen anywhere because the food is delicious. Parking was available the time we got here which was around 5:30 pm. Parking sure does fill up fast. Tried Daiichi Ramen's happy hour recently. Came on the earlier side so it was quite empty, which is nice if you like quick service. Ordered the black garlic ramen and chicken katsu curry, and of course, the free gyoza. The portions were large and everything tasted tasty! Daiichi has proper containers for each of these and our leftovers still tasted good the following day.
