I take my family to this place twice a year (every time we visit Cabo), this time the service was terrible the waiter messed up on both mine and my wife's order 3 times and they took forever to bring the food. This is really a bummer because we loved this place. read more

What a beautiful and peaceful place to have dinner. LA has a lot of delicious sushi but this place really blew it out of the water for me. This place is not good. The decor has been outdated since 2001. The staff is plentiful and very olive. The bar is fully stocked and impressive. The food here is terrible, just terrible. We ordered sushi, and the fish tasted like 3-day-old supermarket sushi. Came here to have dinner Christmas Day & we were so surprised by the quality of the fish here! Tried 3 sashimi plates & 4 different rolls, everything was delicious. We were sat at a see through table that had water running through it to a waterfall off the end of our table! It was the coolest table I've ever seen, almost made you a little nauseous to look at it while eating. Also there's a beautiful waterfall with koi fish in a pond outside & a hibachi grill. Had amazing attentive service from the staff with free valet parking as well. When our check came it was only $80 for 3 people! We each had 2 glasses of wine & ate to our hearts content, you can't beat that! The server said they have a location in Tijuana so I'm going to be checking that out too. read more

Sushi in Mexico? Either a really good idea or a really bad idea. We experienced more of the good than the bad. The Good: -Tuna Tataki -Gyoza -Nabeyaki Udon The Bad: -Rainbow roll The Good: Man, the tuna in the tuna tataki was excellent! It tasted so fresh and the cut was really good. The sauce and onions worked very well. It was probably one of the best tataki I've ever had. The gyoza were great, they didn't need any sauce because it had flavors on its own. And the udon, man oh man, the udon was the BEST part. Who would have thought Cabo had good udon?! We got the nabeyaki udon, it came with an egg, chicken, tempera shrimp, tempura fish, tempura squid, and tempura veggies. A whole lot for udon. The broth was SO flavorful! What was sad was a week before we had udon at a "authentic" place in SD and their udon tasted so bland. This udon here you will not be disappointed of the flavors. I recommend this over anything else. The Bad: We didn't want too much food and sad that we didn't eat the individual sashimi, so we went with the rainbow roll. BAD CHOICE. This was so disgusting. It was the worst sushi I ever tasted in my life. It wasn't that the fish was bad, it was the they overdressed it with mayo! There were mayo on top, mayo in the sushi, all you tasted was that nasty warm mayo. It's not the normal rainbow that you would get in the states. It was disgusting, I tried scraping off the mayo to eat the fish, too late the fish was drenched in mayo. Ruined the WHOLE roll. We ate 1 piece and could not eat the rest. At all. It was that bad. And I'm Asian, I try to eat everything and not waste food, but this I could not eat this... I did noticed that all their rolls had cream cheese in it, so NOT authentic. So gross. I recommend you either eat the raw fish or the udon or rice bowls. Sushi rolls did not look good. Service was good. The decor was outstanding. It was the nicest looking sushi restaurant I've ever been too. It was very cool, especially the floor, the patio area, and just the authentic look that they were trying to go for. Eating here was the highlight of our Cabo trip! The restaurant is tucked into a plaza, and you walk into a Zen oasis when entering. There are a few outside tables with water running through them, under the glass. The inside is very very nice. The elevated glass floors allow you to walk over (and eat over) a beautiful sand garden. The food was excellent - get the tuna tataki and the octopus with cucumber and vinegar for starters. Both were outstanding. The shrimp tempura was also excellent. We had eel (nice and smoky, not too sweet), yellowtail and maguro nigiri (super fresh!). The rolls were just okay, but only because I got one with smoked salmon (should have ordered fresh). Service was GREAT! Ask for Oscar!! If you like wine, ask to see the wine cellar - cool (literally) space! read more

Came here for date night with my girlfriend. This place truly deserves more than 5 stars. Everything from the ambience, to the service, and of course the food. This was without a doubt the best sushi we've ever had, and we eat sushi at a LOT of places in the U.S. The service was on a whole different level. Everybody was quick to clean up, refill our cups, and we never felt like we were bothering them, and they were extremely friendly. A place like this in the states would easily cost 3-4 as much. If it WERE in the states, I would be a regular for sure. read more

Not sure I would have thought about Japanese food in Mexico if this place hadn't been recommended by a friend. Hidden gem. The clear floors looking down into the karesansui, Zen garden, is a very unique touch. Stepping into the restaurant onto the outside patIo makes you forget the busy street and marina steps away. We ate off the menu but they have teppan also. The sushi was delicious and so fresh. I thought the meal was very reasonably priced (about $30 each). We were craving some Japanese and found this on Yelp. A quaint little restaurant with cool water features outside in a small garden. The food was excellent and served extremely fast. We had thin salmon sashimi, gyoza, ramen and shrimp teppanyaki. The cocktails we also very good. Our waiter Victor provided excellent service and even offered to show us the wine cellar at the end. I was decent dinner nothing amazing I can tell they didn't use the best cuts of fish from out catch I assume they save it to sell later... surf and turf (shrimp fish steak) teppan grill with all the fixings and show is about 550 pesos.... we some how paid about 900 each and we brought the food?? I'm assuming everyone here leaving positive reviews for this place isn't actually accustomed to good sushi. Maybe they are mid westerners. I live in Los Angeles and San Diego, The sushi at this place is not it. Our grocery stores have better sushi than this. The rice is not cooked correctly so it gives it a hard chewy feel, the ginger isn't quite right either. Firstly, I ordered a roll that arrived very incorrect from what was described on the menu, I wanted a fresh raw fish roll and it came out baked and cooked and then they refused to correct it even though their menu was wrong. When I eventually didn't order anything else and was going to stick with my veggie tempura, they brought me out the same roll with fresh fish instead of it all being cooked. Sadly it still was not good. The veggie tempura was a lot and thankfully enough to hold me over, but the dipping sauce was lacking flavor. Would not recommend this place. read more

This place is clueless. The staff doesn't speak enough English to understand "fried rice" and this is an Asian place. I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. I definitely wasn't expecting to eat Japanese food while in Cabo but was such a pleasant surprise when we came across this place after a few days of eating nothing but Mexican cuisine. I'm glad I spotted it because the place is a bit hidden between shops on the main street. But once you enter the atmosphere is so tranquil. They did an excellent job with the decor. There's a cute little bridge, a pond with live exotic fish swimming and the tables were so cool with water flowing thru them. The hostess was dressed in traditional geisha style kimono an bun and servers are friendly natives to Cabo. The best part of the experience was that they made us vegan food! Delicious and colorful vegetable rolls, seaweed salad, sautéed eggplant. Everything was absolutely delicious. It was also my birthday so the staff all came over and sang to me. They offered a complimentary birthday dessert which was some sort of creamy pastry. I'm not sure exactly what it was and I didn't eat it only because it wasn't vegan, although it did look delicious. Stopped in on a whim to see if their chutoro is legit. It is and is blue fin tuna. Having eaten a bunch of chutoro in my business travels to Japan, this place is pretty good for Japanese food. I haven't tried other than their tuna belly but definitely planning on returning. The ambience is nice, clean and modern. Definitely a good place to go and enjoy Japanese cuisine in cabo. read more

A higher end sushi restaurant in the heart of Cabo, but very reasonably priced. Food was tasty, and loved their outdoor garden seating area. Only issue was that only a couple of their staff speak English, and our order got messed up due to miscommunication, but they corrected it right away. Overall a good dinning experience. read more

My wife and I were craving Ramen. She found this restaurant on Google for Ramen. We both agreed the food is awesome. We had no idea how big the bowl would be. I had the seafood and Beef and it was so delicious. My wife had the seafood and also said it was delicious. We order spicy tuna sushi thinking the Ramen would be a small bowl. We could not stop eating because it was to good to let it go to waste. The service was incredible. The valet parking was very much appreciated. There are tables with water running through them and water-falling at the end. Inside there is a beautiful bar and a clear floor with sand formations beneath. This place is definitely worth exploring. ::Food:: The food here is amazing. We came here for Ramen, initially. The veggie Ramen was tasty and it came with a huge amount of Tempura. The portion was as expected by an American- in other words huge! The miso soup was delicious. My one SLIGHT disappointment was the size of the sushi roll. It was good though. They have a very nice wine list as well. ::Service:: The service was good. There was a bit of a struggle, which was bizarre because I speak Spanish fluently, but the important thing is that we go there eventually. Our orders came out correctly. Daikoku is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Los Cabos hands down. It is located on Marina Blvd. in the center of Cabo San Lucas. The setting is very calming with glass floors over sand (the sand sculpture is of Los Cabos) and water falls through the tables. Got food poisoning here. Wouldn't be so mad if food was good, but it was mediocre at best. 95% of rolls have cream cheese and we ordered two rolls without cream cheese and somehow one came with it. It was half cream cheese, half rice, and paper thin salmon on top. We also got yakisoba, which had NO flavor to it. I just feel bad for the owner as the decor looked expensive, but management is extremely incompetent. read more
