When the hotel recommends a restaurant, I'm always a bit skeptical. That's just me as I've had good and bad but this was phenomenal! Coming from San Francisco, I feel like I have a pretty darn good sushi palate and this place blew my mind. I ordered a House specially Scallop roll and a salmon roll with zested lemon and lime. The citrus blew this roll out of the water. My daughter had the mixed tempura platter- too big for one person but the presentation was beautiful. The server was darling, watching over us and quickly pouring our wine and clearing plates. I wish I grabbed her name, so I could include it. We and our friends have this as one of our favorite restaurants! The service and ambiance are very good. The food is outstanding and very reasonably priced! The scallop roll had avocado and jalapeño and the special last night was a roll with salmon and tuna. Both were excellent! The sushi is also excellent. We order a Daikuko Sushi plate and enjoy eating 'family style.' We also enjoy the Gyoza, tempura and vegetable fried rice. If you enjoy Japanese food this is a winner! read more

Staff/service - we were one of two couples there and still had to wave someone down to place an order for food, drinks, etc. Food- after waiting 45 mins for 15 piece sushi sampler it had arrived and we were starving. The fish was "luke warm" and with an extremely rubbery texture. I ate two pieces and had to stop, the gf tried to keep eating as she was starving to spit out her next bite in disgust at the texture of the tuna.HANDS DOWN WORST SASHIMI/TUNA EVER!!! We both unfortunately after a couple hours of shopping started getting cold in 100 degree weather to find ourselves back at our resort sick all night and into the next day. I'm only rating this according to our service on 1/1/17 which happens to be the day after the New Years Eve party. It seemed like the staff was a little hungover and sluggish. We waited quite a while for them to take out orders and bring our drinks. We ordered ramen noodles and it took literally 25 minutes. It was NOT busy at all. The food was 3/5. This is one of Cabo's best restaurants - hands down! From the moment we step inside, we feel like we are in Japan. And no wonder! The owners are Japanese and pay attention to every detail. Water runs through the outside waterwheel and over the tables giving a feeling of stepping into a Japanese garden. There are lovely trees in the garden with a koi fish pond and even a table set apart over water filled with stepping stones. Even to get into the restaurant from the valet parker, you walk across a lovely little wooden bridge. It's hard to decide whether to eat outside in the garden or inside with the air conditioning and welcoming Japanese décor. As you walk inside, you walk on glass peering into a beautifully designed sand and rock garden. One of our friends was scared to walk on the glass, thinking she might fall through! The food is high quality and as fresh as it gets. The sushi and sashimi are excellent. We love the tuna tataki, salmon sashimi, shake karai roll, veggie tempura, and everything we try there. We are locals and go there at least once a week. In fact, the past few weeks have been even better than before. The design of the fish on the sashimi plates were spectacular. And the flavor of the fish was so fresh. The fish was softer and more delectable than ever. We believe this is the best sushi in all of Los Cabos - by a long shot. There's a special coffee drink with bailey's and ice cream and whipped cream (fogato?) that is a must-have after dinner treat. The green tea iced cream and tempura ice cream are also fabulous. The service is wonderful. Salvador, the manager, takes care of every detail. The staff is welcoming, friendly and happy to create special requests. If you visiting Cabo, we highly recommend this great spot for both lunch and dinner. read more

The food was really tasty! I loved my sushi and all the sauces that it came with. The salad was huge and filled with lots of fresh veggies. The negative is you just need to have lots of time and patience to eat here. The servers are cute and friendly but the cook does what he wants apparently? For example, three of us order salad but only two of us get it and the third came after dinner was over. Two ordered chicken teriyaki and only one came out and the second one an hour later. By the end it was so ridiculous we found it humorous. The only thing they offered for the bad service was a 10% off coupon for our next visit. Japanese. Spectacular Japanese tea garden courtyard with a beautiful water wheel, wooden water bridge over a koi pond topped with lily pads and waterfalls. The courtyard tables have water running through them, cascading out of the table as a waterfall into a pool. Inside, the tables sit on clear glass-bottom floor with Japanese sand sculptures below. Visiting Cabo, and my sister wanted teppanyaki for her birthday. I called to make a reservation the day before as we had a party of 7. We were seated at the teppanyaki table which is outside; there was a large rust stain in the middle of the grill which probably meant they didn't use it often. We should have left at that point. The server comes out to take our drink orders, and another server starts preparing the grill. The grill then becomes infested with flying ants. After sitting outside for approximately 30 minutes, they offer to seat us inside and cook our food in the kitchen. It took over an hour for our completed meals to come out of the kitchen. The manager avoided coming over to us. We were overall disappointed in the service and quality of the food. The food was cold by the time it came out of the kitchen, and several people in our party received the incorrect order more than once. read more

Wow! So glad nick san closed earlier than they stated. We were craving sushi and it was 1015pm. We pulled up and thought uh oh. But when you walk in its a pleasant surprise. Beautiful patio with unique tables with water cascading out the end. If you go inside, it's really cool. The floors are glass and look down into a white sandy bottom. The sushi bar is small but comfortable and where we chose to sit. We had miso soup, salmon landin and special scallop rolls. Wow! Both were incredible to look at and taste. We also got the crunchy noodles with shrimp and veggies. I'm Asian and I know my noodles...I loved this dish! This is what we have on Chinese new years. Great ingredients and flavors. We also had hamachi sushi...good. Salmon skin hand roll was just ok. Our service was really attentive. We had a bottle of cold sake $290pesos (reasonable) and beer. We couldn't finish it all. 3 of us full with drink for $70. Oh! And air conditioned! We'll be back definitely. If you want sushi, come here! read more

Great selection and delivery service! We ordered from here twice during our stay in Cabo. It was also my friends first time trying ramen and he loved it. The lo mein noodles could use less sauce but more flavor...felt like I was eating bland noodle soup when it's suppose to be noodles dressed in a nice sauce plus veggies. We dined here tonight upon seeing an American group exiting and saying they had been there twice in two nights! Atmosphere is cute if you want a trumped down Disneyland Tom Sawyer's Island experience--water flowing through a big stern wheel, water flowing in small channels between tables in the interior courtyard, and plexiglas flooring upstairs that looks down to a bed of white beach sand. 1) The menus were gross, rippled plastic covers that looked and felt unsanitary and very old. 2) The waiter & manager did not speak English (really in CSL?), but they tried to act like they understood our order and even verified twice that a 1/2 cup fried fish entree cold green side salad could be exchanged for a 1/2 cup side of hot veggies. Not only did they try to recount their words, act dumb, avoid us like the plague when time to get the check, but they also tried to blame the mistake on us. Not cool!! - refer to last comment for more on this serious customer service flaw. 3) Fried Gyoza had a mealy meat texture and odd flavor and some were left behind. 4) The fried fish said "One Piece" on menu, but came out with "Six Small" dry fried fish pieces in which the sauces were awful - bland mayonnaise mentioned by another reviewer and two other heartburn flavors 5) Asked for vegan/vegetarian options only to be told to order a chicken or shrimp dish or rice! Hot green tea was good and hot saki came in a cute bottle warmer dress. 6) Upon paying the bill, the waiter rudely told us to tip 20% in a very aggressive tone and manner. My husband and I were truly disappointed with this restaurant and advise others to use caution when reading the statements of the other reviewers. There's other options in town. read more

I would expect you to value your customers and have some common sense. You posted a 15% off deal in a private group for residents and you didn't honor the deal even when I pulled up a picture of our lease on my phone proving we were residents!! Worst customer service ever. No wonder your Restaurant was empty. Will make sure not to Reccomended your business in the future and give my business to Nicksan Sushi instead. Me and my family stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to eat in Cabo last night. We were in the mood for sushi and decided to give this place a try. When we entered the environment of the this place is amazing! Waterfalls, glass floor of sand underneath you, it seemed pretty cool. Our waiter was young and we ordered some beers and water. it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks:/ (the place was fairly slow at the time). Finally got our drinks and ordered. I order a spicy tuna roll while my family ordered a salmon roll and a few hand rolls. This is where our service got pretty dull. We see the sushi coming out behind us, the chef is laying them down as he finishes. and about half of our food was sitting there for 15 minutes until all of it was complete! finally the sushi was made and we could eat :D. My roll was SMALL and this place is a little pricey. The rolls were very small portioned, and when i took a bite..... boring... nothing special at all to this place. Family thought the place was very mediocre and will not be returning. Try ART AND SUSHI on the marina! Very good and much lower price! sorry no pics :/ read more

My husband and I came here one evening during our visit to Cabo San Lucas. We same without a reservation, but the staff let us sit in a table of our choice. We sat at the table that has a waterfall running through it, it was beautiful! The service was excellent, our server was very attentive. We ordered the shrimp tempura and two sushi rolls. It was, hands down, one of the best sushi spots we have ever been to. The sushi tasted so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend if you're looking for sushi while in San Lucas. read more

This place really disappointed me. The tostada de atun was nice quality tuna, but was dressed in mayonnaise. WTF?! Most of the rolls on their menu include Mayo and\or cheese. Sorry, but these two ingredients have no place anywhere near fish in Japanese cuisine. Yuck. Finally, the rice in the sushi and the the roll I ordered was not sushi rice. Wow, cannot tell you how happy we were to find this gem of a restaurant on our vacation. There's a ton of authentic Mexican food in Cabo and we had had enough. Looking for something different, we asked our cabbie about sushi and he brought us here. Entering through an unassuming entrance, you are surprised by a beautiful courtyard with running fountains. We were seated at a fountain table: a unique glass table with water running underneath the surface pouring out the end. Our waiter, Jesus, was great: very personable, funny and real. Not corny at all. He entertained us with his witty style. Then the food came...yum! The veggie tempura was the star of the night. It was HUGE! Enough for 5 ppl to share. So lightly battered and fresh. Hand rolls were delish. The caterpillar roll was tender and tasty. And the sashimi was killer. If you dine here, you won't be disappointed. Being Asians we were looking for food to eat with chopsticks for at least one day of our vacation in Cabo and did we find a good one with Daikoku. What attracted us was as we walked by their small entrance from the sidewalk was a peak over the bridge into in their garden dinning area with the waterwheel and Koi pond with a waterfall. Out there we had a look at the menu with its variety and reasonable prices then decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. As we were eating we knew we were in Cabo but the setting in Daikoku made us feel we were transported to a different country. My family was in the mood for ramen while mine was for sushi and stir fry noodles. We under estimated the portions that it didn't take long to get full with every mouthful being a tasty one. Not only was the food great but so was the service. Finishing off our meal we toured the place and our servers invited us to wear the small kimonos on their coat rack guests can wear for photos. Then we were also shown what looks like a private cellar. In all our experience with food & service, and just the overall ambiance was a wonderful one that we'll be sure to come back to Daikoku in future visits to Cabo. read more
