Well, if you are short, not one seat in the place will accommodate you well. Also, I was in there on a very warm day and both my guest and I realized that it was pretty darn hot in there. Turns out it was 80 degrees and they thought nothing of it. I was told their air was just fixed and working. I pointed out to the gal who worked there that the AC was on the "off" position on the thermostat. She turned it on and thanked me. She was clueless. As far as what they have to offer. It's ok. Made three visits recently, and while still a nice space, service isn't spectacular and the drinks ho-hum. Hard to read their menu board, and my last visit they had no sugar free syrups available. There is a small sign stating limited or no kitchen menu, perhaps not their fault with the labor issues the restaurant industry is having, maybe they can't keep a cook on staff...? Sadly I'd rather wait in line at Starbucks or head over to Conscious Cup. I'm all for independent shops, but seems as though DP has changed quite a bit. read more

I decided to go here for a coffee not knowing they had such an awesome variety of food as well! I ended up getting a large carmel iced coffee with almond milk, and the better BLT sandwich. Both were fantastic . The BLT was filled with a lot of each element of the sandwich , wasn't just a flat sandwich which was nice cause it filled me up. The customer service was amazing . They were polite and super quick with the service! The over ambiance was a modern day coffee shop with plenty of seating , area to work, and even small area to make your coffee the way you want ! My husband and I have been in this place a few times. It was OK, Nothing spectacular just a nice place to hang out for coffee. We went there today and ordered some pastries. The lady didn't offer to warm up our pastries, usually they do. So we asked her to warm it up but it was not warm enough, and was hard as a rock, after having been warmed up. I didn't want to complain, but we just bought another one and my husband asked to warm it up a little longer. The lady said it's preset which I understand. The second time around it was still hard and wasn't warm at all. I guess the pastries were STALE, hopefully this isn't like this all the time. The atmosphere they have inside was so relaxing and cozy. Their place is perfect for team meeting, bonding with friends and family, and even dating with someone special. Their place is so cool! Overall this is a cute trendy place to get coffee, tea and a dessert or small bite. It's quiet enough to study and to have intimate conversation whether it be personal or business related. The service was good, it was quick and the staff were friendly. The stroopwafel and drop coffee were both delicious. My only complaint is the jasmine green tea. It was so potently jasmine to the point it was not drinkable. I know this is my subjective preference, so if you love jasmine their tea might be perfect for you. I have driven by this place before several times when I had to travel on Algonquin Rd. to get to the place I used to work at and never knew what it was. Last week I met my mangers for the curtain place I work at here for a one-on-one meeting. I looked up the menu online and was happy to find 3 drinks that would interest me. As someone who has issues with dairy, I was happy to see that there were non-dairy alternatives to be added to drinks if need be. Also, I saw a wonderful treat on the menu that I wanted to give a try as well. I had a hard time deciding between the 3 drinks ((midnight moon lemonade, hibiscus shaker which has coconut milk already in it, and hibiscus berry sparkling iced tea)), but I was able to settle on one, which was the midnight moon lemonade made with butterfly blue tea and lemonade. I'm so glad that I got this drink because it tasted so good and it was such a lovely color as well! It does need to be mixed up, so you don't get a mouth full of the syrup that's within it. Even my mangers though that the color of the drink looked awesome. It was still socially distanced inside of the building, but we were still able to find a spot to sit and it felt nice and comfortable inside as well. I liked all the art work on the walls and all the other decor that was scattered around as well. We sat at the long table in the middle of one of the rooms and I didn't feel as if there were a lot of people hovering around and breathing down my neck. It was pretty quiet in there and we kept our voices at a nice volume, but there was one guy on a Zoom Meeting, so he was a lot louder than everyone else within the building. Kind of annoying and I even felt embarrassed as well, even though I didn't know this guy. The only reason I'm docking one star is because THE KITCHEN CLOSES AT 2PM!!!! Yes, that needs to be in all caps because I know there are people who are going to go there and hope for a warm treat only to be disappointed that the kitchen is closed. I was looking forward to the fruit waffle, as I'm a dog walker and was out walking dogs all day before the meeting, so I was really hungry! I was so upset when I found out that I couldn't get the waffle because my meeting time was after 2pm. I ended up getting a chocolate crescent from the pasty case. It held me over for the walk I had after the meeting, but it wasn't something I could live off of. I noticed that their hours are pretty 'short', as it looks like they close at either 4 or 5pm, but I wish they'd keep the kitchen open until closing, so anyone who stops by can grab something warm and fresh to eat. read more

I've only been here a few times and the first few visits weren't even for myself, I grabbed coffee for coworkers. The staff has always been so incredible, that alone deserves 5 stars. I'm a cold coffee kinda girl, their cold brews are awesome & so is their chai. I've recently tried the "dirty horchata" which has easily become a favorite. The staff behind the counter has always given me great ideas & are super helpful when I'm ordering drinks for others. I'm really interested to try their lemonade drinks! I love the look, feel and vibe of Daily Projects. I actually passed this up many times the first year or so it was open-- always thinking, "that place looks pretty cool. I should stop in one day." So, eventually, when I needed a fun place to meet someone, I suggested Daily Projects, partly because I wanted a reason to check it out! What a fun place. The cafe offers an ambiance that you don't get at Starbucks or other chain coffee shops. Seating is optimal with some seats that are more private than others. It's also very spacious, so you don't feel like you're on top of someone when chatting with friends or working on your laptop. What I like most about Daily Projects, though, is probably their drink menu. I don't drink coffee so many times I'll find myself with only two options: green tea or black tea. I loved the asthetics of this coffee shop. The drinks were also interesting, definitely combinations I don't see at other coffee shops. There were plenty of plugs if you wanted to come here and do work. I ordered the iced mint cubano, a friend ordered the dirty horchata and the carrot cake muffin, and another friend tried the lem'ericano. I didn't taste the mint in the mint cubano, despite there being a mint leaf in the drink. The dirty horchata was probably the group favorite. And the lem'ericano tasted odd at first, but the more my friend sipped it the more it grew on her. I think the lemon flavor comes out a lot at first but then after you continue drinking you get used to the sour taste. I would definitely come back, may be our go to place to meet up and do work. read more

Why go to Mickey E's when you could go to a super delish gastropub brewery FOR THE SAME PRICE?!?!! Daily Projects has way more lunch fare options than other comparable chains, actually has REAL POTTED PLANTS and nice couches and chairs, and is simply the place I'd choose if I needed a landing pad to spend several hours out of the home for any reason. Daily Projects is owned by a grad school friend's brother. It also happens to be my cousin's favorite coffee stop in Algonquin. I love the drinks, especially the cold brew - on tap. It's not your typical "cozy" coffee shop but more of a space with a lot of modern, open space. I don't really vibe in here but if i needed to channel my creativity then i may want to stop here to have a clean slate feel for my brain to work with -- that was SUPER artsy of me to say. Sandi and I came here for the Yelp Photography 101 event. The restaurant had a part of the restaurant for this event. The bagels and schmear were very good. The restaurant offered up various dishes for us to take pictures of and each one looked delightful. After the pictures I settled on a turkey club on whole wheat with a side salad. Both were delicious. The restaurant itself reminded me of a high delicatessen. The decorations are well thought out. The chalk board with the various aspects of the menu helped set the tone for the restaurant. Even if you are going there for a special event it is well worth a visit. read more

It went from being a "modern-tastes, avocado toast, slightly hipster-vibe (in a really good way)" restaurant to joining the "almost every other restaurant along this corridor is a burger place" crew. Sadly, the dedication is gone to quality ingredients, fresh taste, and small details like fresh radishes placed vertically in an open-faced sandwich filling or pickled red onions to balance against the creaminess and richness of a goat cheese and avocado sandwich. It's a burger place, and not a very tasty or exceptional one. I'm very sad. read more

Went in here with 3 friends while shopping around Algonquin and was so happy we found this place. The coffee and food was really good. I got a lavender late, and my friends got iced chai, and honey boo late. We all loved our drinks and thought it was reasonably price. Why did they change their menu so intensely? I know I am not the only one who's unhappy with it. The last time I went in and ordered something (The Algonquin Sandwich-- which was amazing, btw), they said they didn't have it anymore, and that I was the FOURTH person that day to ask for it. I left without trying anything else because the time before that, I ordered their egg sandwich (which *was* also amazing, btw), and to my surprise, it was completely different. My fault for not double-checking the menu I suppose... but... What I got was legit the greasiest thing I've ever been presented as food. Sliced brioche should not be put on a flat-top, fried or oiled, and if it wasn't, there was something wrong with it. The cheese used to be cheddar, now it's American cheese (and not good American cheese--ha). I took one bite of it and pulled over behind a strip mall to throw it into the dumpster. Their service is always nice, even though it's a bit relaxed. I liked this place a lot, but I'm not willing to spend anymore money on food that seems like it has become an afterthought. read more

I found this coffee shop by chance shortly after moving to the Dundee area, and it has become one of my work-from-home staples. The inside is clean, chic and has plenty of seating and plugs for parties who plan to stay and work or simply eat and visit. Rarely is it too loud for me to take a work call, which is an added bonus as I regularly take meetings for my IT job. As for their coffee, the only thing I can speak to so far is the mocha frappe, which is phenomenal (I credit the heavy cream in the recipe for the velvety flavor.) My only gripe is that I can't get it in a slightly bigger size! :) I plan to venture out to other drinks at some point, but it's going to take some willpower since the Frappe is so good. For food I've tried the bagels, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burrito which are all extremely well made and tasty. My order always comes out in a reasonable amount of time and the portions are a good size/quality for the price. Their menu is somewhat limited and at times I wish their pastry selection was a little more expansive but overall the options they have are nutritious and delicious and they do them all well, so I can't really complain. Overall this is a great place to work and have your morning coffee and bagel, plus they have a rewards program that is an added bonus. To respond to some of the reviews about service, I have never had an issue with service being too slow for my standards, though I'm rarely visiting when I'm in a rush. The couple of times I've had drinks take slightly longer than usual I've attributed it to the crowd and it was still not unreasonable in my opinion. In short, next time you're in the area give this great local business a try - It's definitely a standout for coffee in the area. read more

I really love this place, the coffee is so good and they have reasonable prices.. but this morning I ordered for delivery through Uber and I got really sick from the "Pooh bear" sandwich... it was a piece of sourdough bread with peanut butter, honey, banana and some type of nut on top. I took one bite as I was rushing into work and an hour later I was so extremely nauseous and threw up only banana... once I threw it all up I was perfectly fine, back to normal. It was like something I ate was bad and my body couldn't digest it or something! All I know is that was the only thing I ate this morning and it made me super sick... I'm disappointed because I wanted to really enjoy that as a midday snack.. I'm not from this area, but I frequent it once in a while. I stopped in over the weekend, needing a "second wind" of energy in the form of a large vanilla latte. But since I had my mother in law, as well as my two kids, with me, I knew I wouldn't be walking out with just 1 small order. With that said, I didn't really realize how much I'd be spending. I'm aware this isn't a fast food place. Which is why I'm okay spending a little more to support a small business. I was so pleasantly surprised about how good the food was too! The menu is simple, and everything we ordered was delicious. My kids shared a grilled cheese, I had avocado toast, and my MIL had an open-face bruschetta sandwich. I have to admit, that when a grilled cheese has a perfect "cheese pull", it just makes me smile. And the avocado toast, with the addition of the black sesame seeds, sprouts, and sliced beets, had a wonderful taste. The ambiance is very relaxed, but not so much so that I was embarrassed to have my kids with me. Granted, they are well-behaved, but sometimes I go to places and people simply get offended being in the presence of little monsters in a "grown up world". Here, I felt at ease. Always happy to come in and give some money to this business. The drinks are always thought over by the staff and you can expect a very clean/easy experience. I'm a cafe worker at a local Barnes and Noble and the one thing that consistently impressed me about Daily Projects is the work they put in to achieve a friendly atmosphere. The staff is great and pays a lot of attention to making sure the regulars feel welcomed. For example, as someone who isn't allowed to ask people to wear a mask at my job, I can guarantee you that while the policy might lead to a couple grumbling reviews from people who had never stepped foot in the place previously, there are a dozen more considerate people who were silently appreciating that the staff had their backs. In times like these, when I'm not eating out too much anyways, this is exactly the kind of spot I feel justified in spending my money. Go support these guys! Keep up the good work DP! read more

My sister had been here before and really wanted us to share the wonderful experience that she did with this great new find. We came on a Saturday morning, and there were only a few people in the building but it was early. We enjoyed the nice quiet atmosphere. I loved all of the spaciousness and room to spread out. If you come for business or just to chill out, you will find there are plenty of outlets close by without having to sit on the floor or share an outlet with 10 other people. Other coffee shops should get on board and add more outlets. Order Quickcup of Daily Projects Blend and a Breakfast Dagwood. The quickcup was a very nice and smooth coffee which was supposed to have subtle hints of milk chocolate, mandarin and apples. I tried to find those flavors but I took a bite of the Dagwood first and there was too much flavor to figure it out. The Dagwood was absolutely an amazing breakfast sandwich. There was scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, pickled onions, cheddar, aioli, leeks and arugula all between two slices of fresh toasted bread. The sandwich also comes with kettle chips which was different (for breakfast) but if you ordered it for lunch it would be just perfect. We enjoyed the coffee, the sandwich and the great atmosphere.
