We have never been here before. We were at Heiders Berry Picking and looked for a place to have lunch. Our first choice was closed on Tuesdays so we ended up here. The restaurant is very cute and there are booths and tables. Our waitress was extremely rude. She acted like we knew the menu. My mom was asking her questions and she said I will be right back when your ready and walked away. We were ready to order. My mom is deaf in one ear and the waitress was not facing her so much mom was confused why she left the table. When we were ready to leave the waitress was nice to us. We did not get straws until our food came and I am surprised because it was not even busy. The food was excellent and made up for the horrible service. I think our waitress was just having a bad day (based on other reviews) I don't think I would come out of my way to eat here again, but if your in the area looking for good food, you won't regret dining here. read more

We visited Woodstock on our way to Edwards Orchard in Poplar Grove and ate at the Double Yolk Café. This spot is the place to be for a delicious breakfast or lunch. Right in the heart of historic Woodstock square, the Double Yolk has decent parking options on the street. We arrived on a Saturday at the peak of lunch hour. We placed our name at the front desk and had a brief wait (15 minutes) for a table. Once seated, I ordered their Yolk Burger, which is pretty darn good and I would even put it up there to the likes of a Kuma's Corner Burger. The Yolk burger was huge and I could only finish half. Even with the side of fries a cup of cream of spinach soup came with my meal and that too was delicious! My husband on the other hand loves to order breakfasts at dining establishments and he got himself a Breakfast combo. It was large and hearty. It totally satisfied my husbands appetite. The price was right and the meals here hit the spot. Definitely pay a visit if you're in Downtown Woodstock. read more

Probably the best breakfast option in Woodstock. Reliable, personable, and friendly staff. Orders get filled fast and I was impressed at how great the fruit and vegetables were here. I was in town for a wedding with my brother and I ran out to pick up some breakfast. I found this place online from my hotel. Forst I was going to have it delivered via of UberEats/DoorDash but decided to pick it up myself. It was very difficult to find parking cause there was an art festival happening that morning. Not the restaurants fault of course. I ordered two egg & chorizo breakfast burritos and ate them in the hotel as we got ready for the wedding. I was so disappointed that the chorizo was unnoticeable at all. The burrito had no flavor at all. It needed salt. No tangy greasy, spicy chorizo flavor at all. None. The hash browns (potatoes) had ZERO flavor. They provided us with only the tiny little salt packet that came in the utensil's package. No ketchup either. They did give a small thing of sour cream and a small thing of tasteless salsa. I bet other items are probably much better but the chorizo breakfast burritos TO-GO are not a great idea. read more

Oddly enough, I've never actually been inside this place before. But we've gotten take out here twice and have been really impressed with the quality of their food and service. It seems somewhat difficult to pull off breakfast take out for some places, but not for Double Yolk. They've been super helpful when placing orders and always accommodating of dietary restrictions. And the food itself is always delicious. Someday we'll end up actually eating in-person, but for now we've really enjoyed their take out. read more

Great place for breakfast or lunch if you are in the area. We stopped here after a trip to the apple orchard. The staff was friendly and the service was pretty quick considering the place was packed on a Sunday for lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meals and none of us were able to finish the portion. My wife and I discovered this diner while at the farmers market in the Woodstock Square. It was fairly busy, but we got seated right away. Our waitress took our drink order. She returned right away with drinks and took our meal order. Before we knew it our breakfast was here. It couldn't have been 5 minutes. It was super fast. My wife and I both ordered the two eggs over easy with bacon, hashbrowns, and rye toast. It's bacon and eggs, how can you go wrong? This is such a fun little spot. I love where it sits on the corner by the Historic Oprah House and in full-view of the Square. I've never received poor service by the staff - they're always so helpful with a "sunny-side up" kind of attitude. I have tried quite a few of their dishes and the food is really great for a comforting, brunch-style meal. The diner setting is great and you can see the kitchen cookin' up your dish as you sip your coffee and catch up with a friend. I love taking advantage of the outdoor dining during the warm season - always get a chance to meet some really great four-legged neighbors. One very minor mention - I've found that some of their sweeter dishes are a little overly-sweet for me, specifically the Chicken and Waffles. As a southern-raised Midwesterner, Chicken and waffles generally have a distinct balance between sweet and savory. I'd prefer a little more distinction instead of tasting almost 100% like dessert, but that's just my opinion and more of a comment than a critique. The Double Yolk Cafe is what a nice local diner should be with great prices, delicious food, friendly staff...and a crowd (always a good sign)! My wife and I stopped there one Sunday morning, after realizing that the "Tip Top Cafe" (as seen in Groundhog Day) was now a mexican restaurant. We parked across the park and tried the Double Yolk as an alternative and were so pleased we did. The corned beef hash with over-easy eggs on top was absolutely homemade, fresh and fantastic. This was NOT one of the canned, then heated options you find elsewhere...this was the real deal and terrific. Corned beef, onions, green peppers, hash browns and cheese. Some over-easy eggs dripping into the mixture...heaven. My wife had a filling veggie omelet and also said hers was excellent. The best part...the food came very fast. It probably wasn't more than eight minutes from order to table. While we were early that morning, with only one other table being used, the place was filled by the time we left. Impressive and totally understood. All in all, no complaints, a great five-star experience...from a diner. Don't miss...too bad I didn't get a Groundhog Day redo over and over! Enjoy. read more

The restaurant has changed names over the past several years... first it was Angelos...then Papa G's and now Double yolk. Restaurant impossible featured this restaurant when it was Angelos . The remodel was an improvement ! Service is fast and attentive ! Coffee always remains hot because they are always topping off. Menu has a nice variety of items !
