Food was AWFUL. We went there for a special occasion, and we were very disappointed. We had ordered calamari and it tasted like rubber and the food items that we chose, which were very expensive had zero flavor. We are absolutely disappointed and will never be returning. do not waste your money.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Port Edward. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and truly special. Cynthia went above and beyond to bring my vision to life in such a short amount of time, her attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference. The bar and wait staff were incredible throughout the entire evening, so attentive, kind, and professional. Everything flowed effortlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy the night. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I'm so grateful to the entire team for making it so perfect.

We haven't been here in quite some time. And guess what... It's still very good. We went early on a Saturday afternoon, the outside bar was packed, it's such a great spot right off the river. Their were only a few of us inside on a nice afternoon. Service was attentive and experienced. We had a great sampler appetizer, really tender and very good calamari, like a bang bang shrimp and stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms could have been a bit warmer, but everything was really good. They still have a great old school salad, I have always loved their dressings and presentation. I had the walleye, which was perfectly cooked, and delicious. My wife tried one of the new things, the Sashimi Tuna bowl, which she really enjoyed. I like the nostalgia of Port Edward, and the food is still very good, and I hope they don't change.

We went to Port Edward's for the kid friendly Easter brunch buffet. It was enjoyable. And, our server was the greatest! This place is a throw back. When you walk in you see a ship in a pool with gigantic Koi fish swimming around. It's a bit smelly in there, but you get used to it. They seated us and then allowed us to head to the buffet. The buffet had an iceberg salad with yummy ranch, waffles, French toast, bacon, sausage, tenders, fries, mac, fried shrimp, potatoes, and more. Really good buffet for kids. No culinary standouts, but for $25, it was worth the price by 2025 standards. There was a bunny for photos, drink options and an egg hunt for the youngsters. For the price and the casual-ness, it was a good thing for families with young kids. I think we may head back for the regular menu to see what it's all about. The restaurant had been around for decades. I think there is a reason they still stand!

An indoor shot of the sail boat that is in yhe entryway. They have beautiful koi in the water as well.

What an amazing birthday dinner! This restaurant has been here for decades and is just a wonderful spot. The views overlooking the river are beautiful and the inside is warm and welcoming. The food is Fresh, super tasty, and was hot when it came out. The variety was perfect and the house made desserts were delicious.

Food was amazing!! Definitely pricey but well worth it. However the service was not great. Our server had to be flagged down multiple times. He came by and asked what we wanted to drink, then we flagged him down to put our food order in, and then got served our dinner and had to flag him down again as part of our meal was missing. Additionally, they are serious when they say you can only be at your table for an hour and a half. Two tables next to us got kicked out for being there too long. Live music, they were great! Outdoor space was nice as well, very comfortable seating.

I loved the vibe of this place but the food and service was lackluster. While the coy pond, live music and bar area was super nice, everything else was a little disappointing. We didn't know about a cake cutting fee - $1.50 per person, which was unfortunate for our big group of 11 people. Our waitress also did a terrible job and destroyed our cake...a sparkler also cost an additional fee. Our dinner was so expensive it was ridiculous that we had such bad quality of food and service for the insane price. Oysters were huge and okay. Calamari wasn't great and tasted like it was previously frozen and then microwaved. The seafood pasta was the best dish, the other entrees were small and not great. The hand helds seemed to be the best bang for your buck in terms of portions. My seafood salad was nothing special, as was my boyfriend's soggy grouper. My brother's swordfish was also smelly and not great. My mom's prime rib for the Saturday special was probably the worst I've ever tried. Not a place for prime rib for sure. The clam chowder also nothing special. Since we had a big group, the waitress was just overwhelmed as well which was uncomfortable for us as she would make comments when she had to repeat herself and things were taking a while.

    Grilled octopus

We came in hungry and hopeful. The food was decent overall, but the grilled octopus completely missed the mark. It was cooked until it was crisp, and all I could taste was burnt charcoal. The actual flavor of the octopus was totally lost. Service was a bit lackluster. I asked for a couple of cucumber slices for my water. The server told me they could only do lime or lemon. Later, when I ordered the tuna sashimi bowl, I asked again for cucumber slices on the side. She said yes but forgot. I ended up fishing a few out of my sashimi bowl just to add to my water. Seriously, how hard is it to get a couple of cucumber slices? Overall, it just wasn't worth the 40 minute drive. If you're local, it might do in a pinch. But if you're driving in from across town, keep looking. There are better spots that actually listen and deliver.

This is an affordable, all-you-can-eat, American-style buffet. In the last years, they've added a bit more variety and diversified their offerings slightly. You'll still find the basics -- pasta, mac & cheese, chicken, pizza, roast beef, and a salad bar -- but now there's also steak at the grill (expect a line or some wait at times), a taco bar with custom quesadilla requests, and even a waffle station. And they get bonus points for having disposable gloves available at the buffet stations. I genuinely enjoy the salad bar and soup stations. They usually have chili, chicken noodle soup, and my favorite -- clam chowder, which is surprisingly decent. My typical plate includes salads, cooked vegetables, a little meat, some soup, and yes... I'm a sucker for the pizza, which my kids also love. We always finish with dessert. The dessert section is extensive: pies, cakes, donuts (new), an ice cream machine with edible cones, and plenty of toppings like M&Ms, gummies, caramel and chocolate syrup. They also have bagged cotton candy ready to go -- and yes, you can take it home. Naturally, this is the kids' favorite area. What could really use improvement -- is the building itself. It's clearly overdue for renovation, especially the restrooms (at least on the women's side). They're usable, but barely. Some stall doors don't close properly, some require double latching, and others need a full body shove to shut. Toilet paper holders are falling off their hinges, automatic flush buttons don't always work, and you sometimes have to flush manually. The sinks and hand dryers do work, and there is soap and paper towels available, but overall the space could use better upkeep, fragrance, and general maintenance. I'm not complaining -- just pointing out that aesthetics and functionality could definitely be improved. That said, we still come here fairly often -- a few times a year at least. It's affordable, easy, and the kids love it. Dinner pricing for us was $10 per child and $18 per adult. Kids' meals include drinks (like strawberry lemonade), while adult sodas are an extra $3.59. During the week, kids can sometimes eat free or for as low as $3 with a paying adult, though we usually come on weekends and haven't tried those deals. Also, during the summer reading months, they partner with local libraries to give out free meal tickets for kids who participate which is nice. Then year round, there is also senior pricing available. We consistently receive great table service from Dominic, who clears plates quickly, refills drinks, and works very hard -- we always make sure to tip him. The rest of the staff also seems to work hard. During our most recent visit, they were decorating for Valentine's Day, and there was even a painter working on the glass, which was fun to watch. Additionally, they have a couple TVs in the dining areas and it keeps the kids entertained for a few minutes. I see many families come whenever we dine and kids settle in with their iPads. This place is definitely a go-to for many. Overall, we'll continue coming back, as we've done many times before. The food quality is average -- exactly what you'd expect from a buffet -- but you'll leave full if you come hungry. As with any buffet, this is not a great option if you have food allergies, strict dietary restrictions, or concerns about cross-contamination. In short, if you know what to expect, this can be a decent, no-hassle dinner option and a nice break for parents who don't want to cook multiple meals at home. Bonus tip: During colder months, the tables near the hot foods & dessert bar tend to feel warmer than those near the salad bar (as those areas have cool air for the salads) though the salad bar dining side is closer to the restrooms.

First of all, just know what type of restaurant you're walking into and set your expectations…read moreaccordingly. Don't get it twisted, I'm not expecting a 5-star Michelin restaurant. Seeing how this is a buffet, I think the food is as good as one can expect. From steak to fried chicken to fried shrimp to tacos, pizza, meatloaf and much more. This place will mostly satisfy any of your cravings and not break the bank. Only thing is I wish they would renovate the bathroom a bit, it's disgusting in there.
