It was really good, but it wasn't what I wanted. All my flavors were the same color, so kind of hard to distinguish what was what once it melted some. Chocolate Chip cookies were excellent too, a bet the sandwiches are awesome.

At some point, we stopped in Saco to check out a free roadside library when I noticed The Saco Scoop right next door and figured, why not get a little bit of ice cream for the drive? This small shop is located inside a little market style building and the store itself is full of random candy and souvenirs as well as the ice cream I came seeking. Like every single other time I see blue ice cream that has a name like "cookie monster" or "oreo cookie something blah blah" I ordered it and The Saco Scoop did it better then most. The woman who worked here was charming and quick to give us our scoops and get us on our way, and man, this might be the best ice cream I've ever had in the state of Maine (I haven't actually had much, but this stuff was incredible). It was so creamy, it was so flavourful, and it was so freaking good I wish I was able to stop by right now and get a few more scoops. Overall, The Saco Scoop is a truly wonderful little ice cream shop that I'm so glad I stumbled across. I very much look forward to checking Saco out on my next trip and this little ice cream shop might just be the reason we even spend the night.

A Kiddie portion was a pricey $6.95, but in all fairness, that Kiddie portion was equal in size to some of the "small" scoops we've had over the years at various ice cream joints. Big Daddy has four locations in the Wells, Ogunquit, and Kennebunkport area, so if you're up this way during the summer, you won't be too far from experiencing an experience with Big Daddy!

I tried the brownie sundae that was recommended in the article and had it made with tornado ice cream which was also recommended in the article. Tornado is vanilla ice cream with M&M's, toffee pieces, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cookies. All elements of the brownie sundae were fabulous -- the brownie, hot fudge and ice cream!!!
