This local and padnaram classic staple has been a pillar of the community, let alone the ice cream community for quite some time. Service can be slow, but the portions and flavors are worth it. Small and mediums are quite the amount of ice cream, they also are now taking credit cards. Yay You can't have a classic south coast summer with out a scoop from good ole dockside.

This ice cream is just fantastic -- some of the best. If you want to have a meal first, try a quahog or two, and then follow it up with a couple scoops of Cookie Monster.

I have had many good experiences with this place. First the staff wears gloves, so that is a plus in my book. Have a pretty good variety of flavors, including sugar free and frozen yogurt. Several specialty Sundays that are huge! Moderately priced, along with some good milkshakes. Haven't tried the food, but seems alright with some hotdogs if you want a cheap quick lunch.

I was going to give dockside two stars, but I think that it would be misleading to do so. It really wasn't that bad, I just wasn't impressed. My mother got a peanut butter cup sundae, and I got a plain ol' chocolate chip scoop on a sugar cone. The ice cream itself was really good, the consistency being nice and it was flavorful. BUT, the chocolate chips that they use were actual chocolate chips that you would find at the store for making cookies, so they were huge and I think overall they detracted from what would have been a really good scoop of ice cream. You really had to chew the chips so I felt like I was eating a meal rather than a scoop of ice cream. If that doesn't bother you, than have at it. Also, the cone was slightly stale.

Same owners as Acushnet Creamery, but a better view and atmosphere considering it's right on the water. Delicious and worth the money!

What more could you want from a water-side, small-town, ice cream shoppe.

For this visit, some people in my group ordered the matcha waffle: matcha silky cream, chocolate drizzle, topped with fresh strawberries, while others including myself got the ube waffle: ube silky cream, drizzled condensed milk, and topped with fresh blueberries, bananas, raspberries, and coconut shavings. By default, these were on the liege waffle which is personally my favorite since it has a crispy and caramel like consistency. The ube cream was very creamy and smooth. The condensed milk was a great touch, as it acted like a syrup. The fresh fruits helped balance out the sweetness. The matcha one was also good. It reminded me a little of the dubai chocolate combination, mostly because of the colors. I've been seeing them add more and more drinks to the menu - mostly ones that resemble the waffle flavors. The prices have not changed much and they're still reasonable for the quality and quantity. There is plenty of seating in the lower area of their store. It is off of Thayer street so depending on the day, parking can be tough.

I ordered the crème brûlée coffee, and while it wasn't bad, it mostly just tasted like regular coffee without that rich, dessert like flavor you'd hope for. On the other hand, the tiramisu latte was actually really delicious. Honestly, I wish I could order a whole cake of just the tiramisu, it was the highlight for me. You definitely get more cake than the coffee, but it worked in its favor and tasted much better than the crème brûlée drink. It was nice to try, especially since everything looks so aesthetically pleasing, but it feels more like a place you visit for the vibe rather than a go to coffee run.
