This is a fun spot to get ice cream after a long day mostly because of the variety of flavors and having farm animals to check out. The ice cream is not homemade they offer Giffords ice cream which is from Maine and I believe a few Bliss ice cream flavors which is from North Attleboro, MA. They used to be super cheap for ice cream now a small will run you $4. Their portions are ridiculously huge so go a size smaller than you actually want. I had asked if they had a "kiddie" size and they do not. I didn't want to waste so I asked for one scoop. Still got a lot and had to pay $4 for small size. This ice cream store sells Giffords Ice cream, which is a company from Maine. I used to work for a store IN MAINE who sold this ice cream. Why is this place selling ice cream that is not even from Rhode Island? Never mind the false advertising where one would assume that since the location is located on a farm, that they would at least sell ice cream made locally. Also, there are better and HOMEMADE ice cream places near by, try Simcock farms or The Ice Cream Barn or Three Sisters Creamery in Providence or even your local grocery store will sell ice cream that's more locally sourced. Gray's at Tiverton Four Corners may be better known, but if you are an ice cream hound find this wonderful, seasonal ice cream stop, near the Westport post office on Main(Adamsville) Rd. Personally, this is my favorite ice cream stop in an area full of great options: Gray's, The Moose, Helger's, Handy Hill, etc. Why? The ice cream has a perfect balance between creamy/sweet. I've never had a portion that seemed overfrosted, too hard, too soft, or with ice crystals. Good ratio of additions (chips, nuts, whatever) to ice cream. Flavors are spot-on; intense without getting "sickly" after a while. Try their mint chocolate chip, the best in the region. Skip lunch or dinner and go hungry. As I recall, a "small" will cost $2.50 and the portions are huge. A bonus: they have a chicken coop, adorable goats, and even donkeys (which sometimes migrate to an adjacent pasture, so don't promise the little ones in advance because they're not always there. Also, keep an eye on the kids. Haven't tested it out, but according to the sign, they (the donkeys, that is) might nip.) You can sit on a bench under a tree, wander over to look at the animals, or eat in your car. Be aware that this is VERY popular with the locals and getting into and out of the lot can be a little nerve-wracking. Watch out when backing up because there are usually lots of kids running around. Go at a slightly "off" time and make sure to get your visit(s) in, because they are seasonal and close promptly at the end of summer. read more
