I am surprised at the 4 & 5 star ratings. The cheeseburger was o.k. but nothing special. The french fries are generic crinkle fries but at least they were hot unlike some fast food chains. The chicken strips tasted quite bad. Kind of old & fishy? The BBQ sauce is tastes even worse. read more

we don't eat out anywhere, even fast food very often at ALL. Seriously it's not more than twice a month... My husband and son always ask for dairy maid, though. Indoor seating is cramped as the reviews say, but there's a ton of outdoor seating, and it's a great stop on a decent weather day. I've been coming here since I was old enough to ride my bike the three blocks over from my childhood home. My son is now almost 8, and you can bet I'll be sending him over on his bike, soon enough. (we live within blocks , to the opposite direction) Anyway, I don't know why all the bad reviews on service. does someone come running to the counter to BEG for your order? NO. it's not a tire shop. just smile and wait your turn. the food is ALWAYS fresh and hot, and best of all I don't have to cook it. words of wisdom,,, we call in our order about 20 minutes before we want to eat, and that keeps things real simple on both ends. I'm sure they appreciate it as much as I appreciate not having to wait with two small kids, HUNGRY kids. You gotta say what the hell once in awhile and let the hubs have a big greasy burger, let the boys share a milkshake and have a picnic. it's one of the little things life is all about. read more

This place has been here since the '60's. -we still get hungry for a drippy, bacon/ cheese heart attack on a bun and stop here. Top the meal with standard crinkle fries that are delivered hot with fry sauce.. Tempt fate and slug down a thick shake. Friendly window staff and hot food! This place is so misleading by all the good reviews. The burgers are no better then dairy queen quality but the service is awful. People are horribly rude and prices are pretty ridiculous for what you get. Im a local but definetely wont be coming back. read more

Quaint burger joint with delicious milkshakes. My favorite burger is the Royal, which is a bacon cheeseburger with the all fixings. I also usually grab some cheddar poppers on the side. If you're looking to fill up, grab a Barn Burger, which is a hefty portion! read more

For a tiny little burger place, their food is amazing. They have more than just burgers though. Hot dogs, fish and chips, sandwiches, and ice cream. They have it all. They even have FRY SAUCE. As with a lot of places I find on the coast, they only take cash. They don't have much seating inside, but on nice days there are several picnic tables to enjoy. If your looking for a mom and pop place for a bite to eat, this is your place. read more

Dairy Maid has been in Warrenton forever. It was always a favorite stop on the way to my great aunt's in Hammond. They have a great selection of ice cream but I'm partial to a swirl cone. read more

Tried this place a second time for a to-go dinner. The best part of my meal were the crinkle fries, which were piping hot. The fry sauce was too runny and mayo tasting for my taste. The chicken sandwich was decent, although I didn't like the large amount of sauce (mayo?) that made the bun a little soggy. Chicken patty was good and the sandwich was a nice size for a filling dinner. My pineapple shake had little pineapple chunks, but not as thick as I prefer. read more

This is my all time favorite cheeseburger. Whenever I come through this area I make sure to stop at Dairy Maid! I have actually rerouted my trips to stop here! The burgers are gooey with cheese, and their onion rings are fantastic. I usually order the marshmallow shake which never disappoints. Sooooo bad! I've been to small mom and pop joints... I saw the exterior and interior of this place, not expecting much... and it was still pretty disappointing. I felt like I was at a dollar store of food joints except our meal cost closer to $20. The shrimp basket was decent but stay away from the burgers! Just your run of the mill fried food place. My wife is from Warrenton and spoke highly of this place. Every time we have visited (about 10 times) I've tried to eat there and they're almost always closed. Finally got a chance to get in there last time we were here and...they take no cash. They had no signs saying this (they do now!) and I was confused; I get that debit/credit machines charge a fee and not wanting that...but it's 2012. Get one and put a minimum purchase amount on it. I tried to go back once more, tonight. I got there at 6 p.m. It closes at 7. I walked in and it was empty. After about 1 minute a lady came out and said, "Hey." I said, "Hi." She then waited about 30 seconds then shouted the name of (presumably) another employee. I stood there for about 2 minutes without her acknowledging me or saying anything else and I left. I have no idea who owns this business but it's run bass-ackwards. In 2012 I can't see how a small business thrives with bad hours/no credit/debit machine/and poor service. read more
