We came for the breakfast and it didn't disappoint! There were plenty of breakfast options to choose from. I was excited to try the combo with a piece of french toast, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon ($10.95). The french toast was not your typical toast as it used sourdough bread, so I could really taste the sourdough flavor. It was great with the maple syrup. My boyfriend got the 2x6 ($11.95) which came with 2 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of toast. We also tried the hash browns and it was pretty good too! The exterior of the restaurant was not really inviting, but it was cozy inside. The waitress was also attentive and kind. Wow! A hidden gem out in Hammond. My wife and I stopped in last weekend. This place is amazing. The outside isn't all that impressive, but the inside of the restaurant is warm, clean and inviting. My wife tried the meatloaf sandwich, which was really good. I had the Cajun Chicken Salad, which was excellent! Really fresh ingredients. I wouldn't normally write something like this, but I'd go to Buoy 9 just for that salad! Only complaint - and it's not enough to reduce the number of stars from 5 - is that the sandwiches don't come with a side. So, I think adding $3 for some fries puts the meatloaf sandwich up there close to $20. Service was excellent as well. We'll definitely be back. read more

The soup and salad combo was a hit with our group. My aunt had the crab and shrimp salad and it was fresh and huge! We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. Unfortunately they were soggy and very greasy. When I tried the French fries with my fish and chips I understood why the crab cakes were so disappointing. Everything fried tasted like the cooking oil was old and needed changed out. Still, my fish was fresh and crisply battered. Crab cocktails: amazing! Generous portion and good cocktail sauce! Steamer clams: yummy! Crab cakes: a little small but tasty! Clam chowder: thick, creamy, clammy just the way it should be! Fish and chips: fresh fish, lightly battered, fresh crispy yet fluffy and tender fries! Good tartar sauce too. Dinner salad: lots of toppings and good dressing! Cocktails good! I would not be mad at a stronger coffee, but I do like a bold rich coffee. The biscuit was excellent. Light fluffy, but with full body. DEAD BUG ALERT! My husband and I were excited to try this spot after reading the reviews. Being a bar and restaurant owner ourselves we were ready to give this local place a shot. We ordered multiple items, crab cakes, fish and chips, salad, clam chowder and two drinks. After finishing a little more than half of our food I found a dead bug on my plate with the crab cakes. Honestly, I was so grossed out. It ruined our meal. As it would for most people. The waitress was nice but only waived the cost of the crab cakes. If this were my establishment, I wouldn't have charged my customer a dime! And would have been mortified. If you want a $54 tab and dead bugs with your crab cakes this place is for you!
