This is on April 7. Some of the worst service I've ever had. We came in at 835 and they close at 9. They told us they were upset that we were there. I'm not exaggerating. This is in a great spot. Just before you leave civilization, and drive 45 minutes to the coast, you can get a quick bite. They have all the usual DQ treats. They are pretty quick despite the awkward drive thru set up. The confetti cake blizzard is the perfect flavor, just saying... I never ever write a bad review and I was not intending to write one ever. But this place has a very dark and toxic atmosphere and it's all due to the employees. If this is a franchise, the owners should really read these bad reviewers and mine to truly understand that they are hiring the wrong people who have no interest in customer service at its minimum. This place is so remote that they really don't need much bad reviews. The people that work there claim to be managers but refuse to give their names when asked or the food. Racist employees is an understatement. They will not treat everyone terribly but it does not mean they are not terrible people serving the public. The guy that answered the window (never got his name), was rude and disrespectful. The prepubescent individual did not want to resolve a minor problem with our order. When I asked for a manager, he said "how can I help you" and when I asked what his name was he said "I don't need to give you my name". When I asked to speak to a different person he said that I couldn't, even though there were 6 or 8 people working behind him. The "old lady" approached the window and said "what's going on here" I explained what was happening and she turned around and walked away when I asked for his name. Everyone that was working with them heard the issue and they all agreed to ignore us until we drove off without our food. The issue here is that everyone is in on it and they don't mind the rude behavior because it wasn't their first time and it wasn't the first time they have gotten away with this behavior. In all my years of dealing with the public service, I have never known a manager who refused to give me their name. My case here made, if the manager knew we that he was right, he would give his name. Clearly they do wrong all the time and get away with it because they know not to give out their name. The owner should fire them all and start over if they want to keep the business. I will never come back. Plenty of DQ's in Oregon. read more

Mandatory stops on any trip to Gearhart: the spring to fill up water and DQ for dipped cones or corndogs. This time it was corndogs all around. I think the woman working the drive thru was also cooking as it took over five minutes for our dogs, but hot damn (literally) they were nice and crunchy. And chicken too, which negates the fried food factor. Right? Riigggggghhht? Didn't stop for dipped cones on the way back but as all patriotic Americans know, dipped cones are one of God's most magnificent creations. Stopped in this evening on my way back from Astoria for a nibble. I got the chicken strips and found them to be quite delicious. The gravy that they serve with them (that I had not intended to use) turned out to be very delicious and great when used on the strips. The bread was lame, but I didn't want it anyway and didn't eat it. The fries were fries. Didn't eat those either. My only gripe with this place was the bathrooms. The womens bathroom toilet wouldn't flush. Terrific. The mens smelled so bad my brother wouldn't even enter it. read more

I basically never write yelp reviews, especially negative ones, as I work in food service and I understand that things happen that can hurt service and mistakes can be made, but the service here EVEN IN THE DRIVE THRU was appalling. In addition to the chicken strips we ordered (which were barely bigger than a thumb), we got two cokes and two root beers. They didn't tell us that they didn't have coke, only Pepsi, until we paid and it was too late, which is only a moderately big deal. The worst of it was that the older lady that was helping us had the worst attitude. She handed us our sodas and said they were all root beer. The younger lady tried to clarify that two were Pepsi (the first we heard that it was Pepsi, not coke), and then we were confused which were which. None of the lid buttons were pressed so we were trying to ask which was which and she gave us an incredible amount of attitude, told us "why don't we just taste them", which we didn't want to do as one of us has a cold. She then said "do you want me to just make them all again?!" and slammed the window shut before we got a chance to answer. The younger lady opened it again and tried to help clarify but the older lady was already cussing to herself and remaking drinks that we said was not necessary. We got no straws or napkins and got attitude when we asked for them, and of course once we pulled away, we realized they gave us a ranch dressing with no lid and it had spilled all over the bag and my fries. The older lady was so rude and honestly made what should have been an extremely easy transaction (some chicken, some fries and 4 sodas) unnecessary difficult and stressful and kind of ruined the nice drive we were having. read more

For $5 I had 3 crispy and tender chicken strips, fries, a cup of gravy for the fries and/or chicken, unlimited soda, and a small sundae with hot fudge drizzle. All for $5. What a bargain! I was there 6/08/19 3:48 pm the lady at the counter name was Beth she was a complete B**** to me. i understand when you order the say it in the microphone to the back. The problem i had with Beth was, everyone time i ordered shed interrupt me and start talking into the microphone before i was done. I was oh no only a 4 pc please. she rolled her eyes and had to re say the order. She said okay, your total it... i stated no ma'am, i have more. ( husband, father, and kids sat down while i ordered for everyone) again, cut me off and ordered the wrong thing over the intercom. I got my number and went back to my family. I was standing there telling them that i think i messed up one of their orders because every time i tried to order she cut me off and didn't get them right. She came up behind me in the dinning area and started screaming at me that thy have to say the orders n the intercom for the cooks. (which i totally understand and get it. But no need to be shitty and rude and cut me off every time.) she yelled every loudly for about 30 seconds and stormed off. 6 other table were full with family's, everyone looked in shock the way she yelled at me. I wasn't rude back at her. I was just in shock the way a person working in customer service would do that. Myself, i work in customer service. I get being rude back to some one flipping out on you. Well, first of all I need to say they were busy. It was the 3rd of July hot out and coming back from the coast I know it was packed there so Dairy Queen was hopping. Our ice creams took 17 minutes from order to deliver and with one woman making them all by the time the fifth was done the first was soup. That part sucked but I was like oh well they are busy..... What I couldn't take was the horrible was the two girls working the drive through we're talking about the customers. One said to the other " that lady was such a bitch, God fat ass shut up we will get your your fucking blizzard". The other said "I hate this job" they stood there in front of me a customer saying this. They could have helped the lady helping me and moved their "loser customers" out of their way No one working with the public should talk like that in earshot of someone who is keeping their establishment open. I hope the woman in the drive thru couldn't hear them..... They were so cruel fat shaming her and name calling. It was really sad. So sad in fact my daughter cried in the car because she was worried about the woman and didn't want her to hear them. Great location, police, helpful and prompt service. Prices could be better, i thought all fast food joints had dollar menus but not apparently not DQ. I got a pepsi but it tasted a lot like RC cola. It posible their soda machine is not working properly those things always break. Its either too much syrup and not enough carbonation or its RC cola, but the after taste just makes me think RC... pretty dissapointing man.. My cheeseburger was hot and fresh, the bun was kinda smashed though. they treat their employees like garbage and ive seen the girls get yelled at for dumb things a lot by the owner. i found a maggot on a table once and another on the counter where they take your order, and there are flies ALL OVER in the summer. the management acts like high schoolers (even the old man that owns it). i heard an employee say they dropped a hamburger patty on the ground and still used it. they never wash their blizzard mixing machines between uses and they only rinse the blenders with tap water between uses. most of the employees dont wash their hands after cleaning something or handling money, they just go straight into making food. the bathrooms are never clean and the toilets dont flush. the whole place is just gross. read more
