I have always loved blizzards growing up. I was up in the area and decided to get one. The store is new and clean. The staff were very busy but still very nice. The biggest complaint is the quality. The really skimped on the candy. It had a taste of more ice cream than a mixture of butterfinger and ice cream. I was half way through and still just so disappointed. It wasn't even worth finishing. I'm not sure if someone making it was just so busy they skimped or it was done on purpose. Anyway l just a major downer in my day. read more

I've been kind of riding the fence on this one since my visit. This is a newer location and I've been meaning to stop since they opened. I waited till the lines were shorter and I was close by to them. I decided to use the app to place my order to get my points. The app is fairly easy to navigate and I was able to find something I wanted and placed the order. I ordered the Cake Batter Cookie Dough Blizzard and I decided to just go with a small. I was only about 3 doors down from them when I placed the order so it only took me a few minutes to get there. I placed my order to pick up inside as I wanted to get a look at the restaurant. It's much bigger than the usual Dairy Queen and has seating for quite a few people both inside and out. Everything is well lit and easy to access. When you enter through the side door the counter is in front of you with the menu boards up above. You can see right into the prep area to where the drive-thru window is. I arrived over 5 minutes before I was told my order would be ready and it took a couple of minutes before I was actually greeted by anyone. A couple of employees did notice me but they seem to be fairly busy. No one was at the counter itself and I just kind of spent some time looking around at things. When the gentleman greeted me he asked if I was picking up an order and what name it was under. I gave him the information and he spoke to someone else and it took a minute before they found my order. The gentleman back handed my Blizzard to the gentleman who had spoken to me and he brought it over and handed it to me along with a red spoon. My first impression is that their sizing has gotten much smaller since I used to order. Another important fact to me is they advertise Blizzard's where they make them and turn the cup upside down and then turn it back fairly quickly and nothing comes out. Mine was melted enough that it would have all just poured out of the cup if I had tried to turn it upside down at the counter. I'm not sure how fast they made it and where it was sitting but it clearly had a chance to warm up quite a bit. I took my treat home and put it in the freezer for a little bit so I could enjoy it a little more like I would expect it to be. The Blizzard itself tasted really good and my only issue was that the vanilla ice cream was a bit gritty. I did enjoy it but I realize that I like the products from their competition better. I'm still considering trying some of the hot food from them but the prices are a bit high for me for what I would be getting. It's hard to justify a cheeseburger from them when there's a Five Guys right next door now. Basically the restaurant that's off is quite nice as it is brand new but the service is lacking a bit and the ice cream for me wasn't really the quality I expect from them. I can't really comment on the hot food at this point but I do intend to try something in the near future. I do shudder to think how tiny the mini size is. I'm thinking maybe it's one of those little Dixie cups that you used to use to rinse your mouth out after brushing your teeth. read more

Tried to place an online order because in person is always awful. Placed online order at 12:45, app said to arrive at 12:59. Arrived at the drive thru at 12:57 and was told I was ton early, I'd need to wait. I went into the store to wait and at 1:07 I asked for an update. I was told "I placed my order wrong", and I should leave and "the system will refund me." I showed my receipt that shows the correct address, correct time, and my receipt that was paid. I was told again, very dismissively, that the order is wrong and he will not make it and I need to order again or leave. I decided to wait, having no faith in a system refund, and eventually the system printed my order. I asked how he could not see anything in the system and why he asked me to leave and the manager essentially said he takes no responsibility for anything on mobile orders. Dealing with this manager was unbelievably frustrating. read more

Every time I have been here I have NEVER seen anyone wash their hands or change their gloves. One time one of the younger male workers wiped his nose on the glove and when I told him to wash his hands he gave me attitude and said he didn't wipe his nose. And he would not remake my chicken after touching it. Terrible hygiene and customer service. read more

For the most part it's typically always been a good experience. The service is usually lacking, sometimes even rude to some customers (I should say we haven't really had this issue personally, but we have definitely seen how more than 1 employee treats customers) inside which is unfortunate, and it's definitely far from the cleanest place to eat. Frequently you will find yourself searching for a clean table even when the restaurant is dead. It is a decently sized location, not as large as some, but not nearly as small as others like the one in davenport. Plenty of parking as well providing the line of cars in the drive through isn't backed up around it. If that happens, you can of course just park at five guys and walk over. Now the food on the other hand... The food is actually pretty great and what you would expect from a Dairy Queen of this size. The blizzards are frozen and amazing as well. So not many complaints with the food side, just the actual facility and staff itself. Still though, we come for the food not the people, so a 4 out of 5 stars is a good showing. read more

This place, as another poster said rips you off on the portions and the stuff they add inside your ice cream. I got a blizzard and it was all just vanilla ice cream under the top layer. Ordered Oreo cheesecake, and I barely ate into it before I hit all the plain vanilla that was in that cup. Not enough added and obviously not mixed well. I went through the drive through and was driving home so I couldn't take a photo before I just ate it all so it would not melt. Another reviewer mentioned young adults working here, and I can confirm this. No issue here, but the workers I observed seemed distracted and giddy, one was even just walking around talking. I think work should be fun, it's important to enjoy time at work. But not to the point of distraction from the business operation. The blizzard I got was already melting as if it was sitting around before being served, despite the wait I had after paying. They don't seem to be trained properly or they were trained to not give the right amount of things. It's honestly sad. I'd recommend going to C right down the road on 192 and westside, or even TT right next to it. You won't be disappointed or ripped off like other reviewers are reporting, and the sizes are bigger for the cost. Cup filled with whatever mix ins you ask for, and I've never gotten a cup of just vanilla ice cream with a little bit of mix ins on top from those establishments, the way I did at this Dairy Queen. From google reviews, it's clear DQ Fan team's plan is to just copy and paste the same response to all bad reviews. It's just sad. This location is a one and done for me. I will not be back and don't want or respect the copy and paste responses to all of the poor reviews. They should make a change if they truly care about improving. Hoping people with bad experiences will return is not how you do business. read more

What a joke. With the owner in the window, I ordered a blizzard and a root beer float for my kids. The sign says $.89 blizzard with a minimum of $1 dollar purchase with app. I pay and noticed that he charged me for the blizzard at full price. Little did I know that the app had the QR code for the deal. You would think that that guy would have asked if I had the coupon...nope! I asked after and he said you didn't show me the code! I had ordered a "mini" cake from their freezer. I sat down to eat it and it was covered in freezer burn. I went up to register to tell them. it appeared to be owner. He told me they were from the freezer and that was the way it was. I said but it taste bad. He got mad grabbed the ice cream out of my hand and said, " Just say you don't like it". He said he wouldn't give me a refund and I had to choose something else. Ended up with small blizzard having to pay a few extra cents more. The man was so rude! Arriving at the store tonight at 10:10 PM, the group of kids who are working inside, refused to answer the drive-through as I sat there for over five minutes. When I park the car and went up to the front door... It was locked, and the kids were sitting on the counter, just talking and laughing. Ours posted online, on the app, and on the door. Also, they closed at 10:30 PM which would give me 20 extra minutes to place an order. It's sad that I drove 20 minutes from my house to get some late night treats for my family, only to be ignored as a customer while the kid inside didn't care about even waving to me or acknowledging me. I understand that it's a Friday night, they're young and they probably just want to go home... But that's no way to run a business especially if you have hours posted online. Tonight I wasted almost an hour driving there and driving back, finding myself going to Wendy's instead, so I won't come home empty-handed. It's really sad that since his business only opened up a few months ago this is one of several issues I've had and honestly questioning if I should even go back again because I never know what I'm going to get. From poor service to incorrect orders, now this.. it's hard to keep up the excitement I had when finding out a Dairy Queen was opening up near me. This place always gets your order wrong. I literally ordered a brownie batter blizzard with NO brownie bites but instead with Oreos and I was brought a green blizzard. Last I checked brownie isn't green. Let the guy know hey I ordered a brownie batter blizzard with no brownie and he proceeds to argue with me about it. I let him know I literally just ordered this exact blizzard yesterday and had no issues and wanted one today. After him arguing with me for 5 minutes he comes back with a vanilla blizzard with a little bit of chocolate. Highly disappointed in this DQ. I placed a pickup order on the app. Walked in only to find the mobile pickup and place an order spot were side-by-side and lined with people. It was not an easy pickup. Then, my 3 blizzards were handed to me with the lids on but not secured and the ice cream running out the sides. Considering I had 3 of them and was using a drink carrier, this made for a messy experience. Also, I placed the order and was there for pickup within 5 minutes so it was not as if I was late picking up. The staff were yelling at each other about cash drawers and were not friendly or accommodating. I do not recommend this location. Go to Twistee Treat instead. read more
