I visited this Dairy Queen about a year ago and posted my review on my instagram @thedqcritic Here is that review. Today I am reviewing the Dairy Queen in Columbus, Indiana on National Rd. Upon entrance, the dinning room was generally clean but the table we sat down at was very spotty. The cashier was efficient but impersonal. I ordered a four piece chicken strip basket with gravy and a drink, my friend ordered pretzel sticks. The food came out in a timely manner. The fries were alright, the chicken was clearly not fresh, the toast was very dry with no butter and was only tolerable when soaked in the lukewarm gravy. The pretzels were decent and the cheese did nothing for the flavor. The Coke was not great, it seemed to be a mixture of poor syrup and bad ice. Shortly after, we purchased two blizzards, one chocolate xtreme and my personal favorite mix of cookie dough, Oreo, and graham base. The blizzards were not flipped when handed to us and did not have spoons in them. My blizzard was runny and clearly did not have enough graham base. My friends chocolate xtreme came out almost white and in some bites had a hint of peanut (which is not an ingredient of the chocolate xtreme blizzard). Before I left I refilled my drink and looked at their front line ice cream area and was disappointed in the mess I saw from their dirty blizzard machine to their topping wells being left out on the front counter where any costumer could easily taint them (i.e. by sneezing or coughing). Overall this is a subpar Dairy Queen and I do not plan on returning. I give a generous 2 red spoons out of 5.

Texas toast? How about Mo!! Just dry, bland, plain bread! Yuck! no butter, no "toasting". Lazy! --- and obviously it was cold also!

More than once, we've tried to support them after a ballgame but they are hardly ever open. Culver's was yummy.

Went last night toward closing time and the ice cream was poorly made and runny. Not good service.

I stayed on the line for 10 minutes and absolutely no one came back. It's the most horrible service I've ever had from a fast food restaurant.

I arrived at 150 pm. The parking kiosks were about 75% full and the drive thru window was fairly busy so overall they were doing a pretty god business for mid afternoon. I hit the order button at 1:50 pm , ordered the Sonic cheeseburger with fries, and was asked if cash or charge on the screen. I opted to pay cash. My order arrived at 1:59 pm which was very acceptable timing wise. The food may have been premade because the fries were not hot and a little soggy but not terrible. The burger was a decent size, tasted great, but was not as hot as I would have liked, but not terrible. If 10 is the perfect temp, I would give both the fries and the burger an 8. Not hot, but acceptable. The meal was $9.41, so comparable to others. When I paid cash the carhop has to go get change. She didn't bring condiments and asked if I wanted ketchup, which I did, and she had to go back inside to collect my change and get ketchup. Carhop, Jorgia was very pleasant and friendly. I give her 5 stars. 3 for the food mainly due to temperature, so overall I rate them as a 4. Suggestion for management is to have the carhops carry change and condiments (if only ketchup) with them so Customers don't have to wait the extra minute or so for them to return to the car. Overall OK. I will come back.

There is free parking available, with a 3-hour limit, on the street in front of the building that the shop is in. There are a few tables between the shop and the playground that you can sit and enjoy your treat, but they go quickly by parents whose kids are playing on the playground. It is a clean shop, that has you typical pay by weight froyo. They also have smoothies and shakes. I got some froyo for my littles and a smoothie for me. They have your standard toppings here for your yogurt like pineapple, Nerds, boba, caramel, strawberries, cherries, fruity pebbles, animal crackers, and sprinkles. The topping bar was clean and everything looked so fresh. The woman working that day was very friendly and helpful. My kids liked their treats. But I was not a fan of my tropical smoothie. It was heavy on ice chunks. I guess it was not blended very well. Hind sight is 20/20. I wish I would have gotten some froyo, but oh well. I would recommend steering clearing of the smoothies. I had so much potential, but was too thick and I was spitting ice chips out with every sip.

Definitely not a romantic place, as there is no place to sit and there are boxes of supplies stacked everywhere. You have enough options (all kinds of tea, milk or no milk, fruit or no fruit, tapioca or jelly, etc). You can customize sweetness. Sometimes those black tapioca pearls are sold out towards the end of the day. Owner is a man of very few words. I might even call him Boba Nazi, much like Soup Nazi from the Seinfeld. You need to know what you are going to get and don't expect a warm and fuzzy interaction. Is he mean? No, I don't think he is mean. He is a little blunt, which is further complicated by his limited English fluency. Is he good at what he does? Definitely! My son and I just stand there and watch him prepare our drinks every time we go. We are mesmerized by his precision and mad skills. We secretly call him the mixologist. In all honesty, I'd encourage everyone to try his creations. Go in with realistic expectations. Give your kids a little heads up before you go in for the first time and let them know the owner isn't mad at them or the world. If you want warm and fuzzy interactions, there is a Starbucks down the road.
