Shake Shack is your premium fast food chain that serves burgers (meat and plant-based), fries, and of course, milkshakes. I've visited other Shake Shacks before, but this was my first time visiting their Kirkland location. The Kirkland location is pretty big and has a good amount of indoor seating and outdoor patio seating. It's located across from QFC and the kiddie fountains, and so you can enjoy your burger while watching your kids (or dogs) play in the water in the summer. My family ordered: - VEGGIE SHACK ($9.99 for a single patty, $12.99 for a double patty) - Veggie burger packed with mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa, and topped with American cheese, crispy onions, pickles and ShackSauce. This is not your typical Impossible burger or black bean burger, although it has more the texture of the latter. The patty exterior is crispy and the interior is soft and mushy, which complements the crunchy pickles well. It's a little on the sweeter side because of the sweet potato and carrots, but overall a satisfying veggie burger. If it weren't for the fries and shake, I'd probably get a double patty as one patty wasn't satiating enough for lunch. - 'SHROOM BURGER ($9.99) - Crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun. This was another unique vegetarian burger as I've never had a mushroom substituted for a patty before, much less, a fried mushroom stuffed with cheese. If you like mozzarella sticks, this is the burger for you! - CHEESEBURGER ($7.99 for a single patty, $10.99 for a double patty, $13.99 for a triple patty) - A made-to-order quarter pound per patty of 100% Angus beef with American cheese, and your choice of toppings on a toasted potato bun. We were a little disappointed by this burger as it doesn't come with topping by default and so it was a pretty plain burger. Apparently you have to ask for the toppings when ordering at the register (which we didn't know) or order via kiosk or online. - FRIES ($4) - enough talk about the burgers, these crinkle cut fries might have been the BEST FRIES we've ever had. They were burning hot right out of the fryer, super crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. They had just the right amount of salt and had a good body to them to, where even the longest strands didn't break. We loved these so much, that we ended up ordering an extra basket after we finished off the first. - VANILLA SHAKE ($6) - House-made vanilla frozen custard with real vanilla. I prefer my shakes on the thicker side, but this didn't quite meet the mark as it was more liquidy than I would've liked (perhaps because it's custard-based). While it supposedly contains real vanilla, there aren't any vanilla bean flecks and so it most likely just uses vanilla extract. It was cold and refreshing, but can't say I'd go out of my way for it. - COFFEE SHAKE ($6) - Dark roast coffee hand-spun with our house-made vanilla frozen custard. The coffee taste was kind of flat and tasted more like a Frappuccino. The lid also wasn't screwed on properly (or had extra liquid that got stuck underneath the lid) and so it spilled everywhere. Service was great and we got our food within 10 minutes after ordering. They bring the food to your table and you bus yourself. The outdoor tables were relatively clean. Man oh man, I have had many reviews and mixed feelings about this restaurant chain but this experience has been worth all of my feelings. I had a not so great experience last time I went to this Kirkland location. Now for the review, I had an amazing experience, it was clean, ordering was nice and easy, the service was great and friendly, and don't even get me started on the burger. I went to Shake Shack to redeem my last time, and it totally made up for the horrific experience. I would highly recommend the shack burger with fries and a chocolate milkshake. Still my go-to spot for Shake Shack despite having more Eastside options now. I enjoy this location for the consistently good food, service, easy validated parking, and nearby shopping plaza. There's a good amount of indoor seating in the restaurant with additional outdoor seating in the summertime. So for the month of October Shake Shack has been doing a whole buy one get one with their sandwiches and so we were like "well why not" We tried the double shack and the chicken and I must say though both were good there is nothing like the double shack, It's not by any means gourmet but that wasn't the expectation here. My first time trying this kind of burger with a sweet bun and also my first time having amazing crinkle fries! My order came out fast, and the servers behind the counter were friendly! Avocado in the burger was fresh and buttery. The whole experience was biting into the most satisfying burger you've never had until you've been to a shake shack, and I can't believe I've been missing out! Grabbed a regular classic burger too and my future self thanked me for it. At the Kirkland location, there is activity, but quiet on a 2PM weekday lunch in the lull between the 12pm lunch rush and the kids coming out of school, but once it hits 3pm, the school kids start lining up. Ultimately one of my favourite burgers in Downtown Kirkland! I am such a big fan of their Shroom Burger which is mushrooms with loaded cheese inside. The crinkle fries are also a must and it's genuinely so delicious! However, the prices are quite high for a fast food chain, so you're looking at about $9-12 for a singular burger. I would recommend coming to get this once a while, but not really for a dinner because it doesn't fill you up entirely. The service is quick and there is a self kiosk so it's very easy to be in and out. There are tables in and outside of the store and I'd recommend the indoor since it's quite cold right now. Visited Shake Shack in Kirkland today and really enjoyed the overall experience. It's in a great area that's perfect for families. There's even a small fountain nearby where kids were splashing around and having fun on this sunny afternoon. The interior of the restaurant was spotless, which made the meal feel that much more enjoyable. Parking was a bit confusing, especially for a first-time visitor using Apple Maps from the suburbs. I ended up parking on the street and walking a little. But honestly, the short stroll wasn't a big deal. The food itself was fantastic, as expected. I love me some Shake Shack! It's probably a good thing there aren't more of them around. Stopped here for lunch before my next shift and saw the latest menu addition - the 'Hot Ones' burger. They also have a Hot Ones hot dog and hot ones fries as well. Best I can tell it's a cheeseburger with hot sauce. Admittedly it wasn't very saucy. Only on one side of the burger, so it seems like the sauce ratio was a bit off. Still though this burger was good. Nice big patty on a potato bun. Juicy and flavorful. That alone grants it another try. I had a shake but too, also good. But have had better. Maybe it was the lunch rush and was hastily made. There are a few things going on so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt - they're renovating, there is still indoor seating but some of it is blocked off and there are boxes stacked around. Also there were a lot of orders coming in during the lunch rush both pick up and eat in. So I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. I'll give it another go maybe when the renovation wraps. Simple orders are usually wrong and the workers seem annoyed when they interact with you. On top of that, the screens you order on default to a 20% tip...it just doesn't seem right. Fries are subpar. They don't taste like real potatoes and they don't taste fresh but like salt and cooked by a heat lamp. They burgers are good and tasty but they don't match the price. The chicken nuggets are the worst item on the menu. At about $1 a piece you would have thought the scrap bites of chicken would be better but the greasy, overly seasoned breading falls off. The sauces for the nuggets is laughably terrible. Drink selection is nice. The little service help offered is poorer. You need to ask for ketchup to go before getting your order because once they hand off the meal you become a ghost to staff. If my partner gets something different, I always try his. The chicken sandwich was bomb, a must try if you want something other than the burgers. Fries are fries, the loaded fry options were tasty. Wanted to take advantage of recent T-Mobile Tuesday promotion. Ordered a Shack burger and the vanilla shake from the app. By the time I was there, the order was read. Their pick up system is impressive. Couple of staffs always around to help out with the pick up. They ask for the name and find your order from the rack! Due to the large number of pickups, had to wait for some time before I could get it. It was well packed when I picked up. The burger was fresh. Loved it! The Vanilla milkshake was a good choice along with the burger. This place has got some ambiance. It was really loud; looks like they have seating outside as well. The only caveat was the parking. Nothing to not like about Shake Shack if you are a burger and fast casual fan. From their store design, ordering system and food, Shake Shack is an elevated option in this category. Say what you will about kiosk/screen ordering, but I love it in a casual restaurant. I like a minute to peruse my options and choices, order and pay. So much better than a drive thru or counter where you may feel pressure to not hold up the line. I usually get the Shack Burger, but now that they have a veggie option besides the fried Portobello mushroom, I will definitely be giving that a try. I am a big fan of their crinkle cut fries plain or with cheese. They are perfectly crispy on the outside. It's probably a good bet their shakes are yummy, given the name, but I don't usually have ice cream with a burger, so you will have to explore that one yourself! read more
