Right off the highway on the Kittery circle, seasonally opened mostly April to October. Nice outdoor seating area with picnic tables making this a great place to stop for a break on the I-95 drive either out of Maine or into Maine. Order on the app before you arrive because in season it can be very crowded and busy. Typical DQ food, absolutely love the chicken fingers basket with cream gravy and the hotdogs and hamburgers are quality as always. read more

I tried to order 2 meals for $7 each and upgrade to a blizzard by paying more, but because they were closing in 8 days, they no longer had any side (fries, onion rings, etc). They do not discount the meal for not receiving the side. They were mostly sold out of everything including a few blizzard options. I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a few other things. DQ is advertising 2 burgers for $5, but I was charged regular price for each burger. I heard them say the Pepsi was almost out. I feared how my soda would taste. My fear was accurate. It was awful. I kept trying to get someone's attention after my number was called, but I and so many others were ignored. Long story short, it was not a pleasant or satisfying experience. Comfortable location. If I'm not mistaken, DQ is from New England, or it's one of the highest density spots for the chain. Have stopped at this one last year, and was glad it was still here. Think Warren Buffett owns these. Anyhow had my usual. That would be vanilla dipped in butterscotch, while my son did his chocolate dipped in chocolate. Others in our party had blizzards. This is a clean location. It's also close to all the essential travel spots. I'm happy that we stopped by, and the employees were quite pleasant. Among the best DQs we've visited. The staff has been ultra-friendly each time we stopped here, and they get food ready quickly even on busy days. They do burgers just fine, shakes tasty and onion rings fried up nicely. And they have a comfy outdoor eating area behind their building. In Kittery Dairy Queen is closed. Oh no!!! If I could say one thing to the person who opened dairy queen, it would be to bring back the cherry dip. You can also give your dogs a little bit of ice cream. They love their ice cream too. So it's dog approved and kid approved. Adults too. Old people also like dairy queen. Found this DQ as I was returning to the hotel. It was kind of out of the way from the outlets unless you come from the west side. Service was quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. Cones, sundaes, blizzards and more are made with care and are always served with a smile. Some diary queens (and ice cream places in general) are sloppy and sundaes are messy and ice cream cones are leaning and swollen in all the wrong ways.- Not here, everything seems to come out pretty just like the pictures - even the handdipped cones. And the food is also made with care - even when they have a line out the door. I've never gotten a burger that was smushed or was falling apart. The fries are always piping hot, and there always seem to be more food than I was expecting. It gets pretty busy, but the line moves quickly. On our way home from the Boothbay area, we stopped at the Kittery DQ for a bite to eat. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger without the bread because I'm a low carb person. Usually I confuse the person taking the order. The young lady professionally took my order without any question. When I went to pick up my order, Kyle, the cook had so thoughtfully put the burger contents between two tomato slices so I could hold it like a real sandwich! That was above and beyond. Hmm, sometime you just need a perfect frozen treat, and DQ/Orange Julius offers just that! For the shop being surrounded by various Ma/Pa gourmet ice cream stands this place was packed. Staff is friendly and fairly quick. I love how they have their tips jar posted with a note as to what their tips are going for. Schooling, A car, Trips, Etc. Parking can be a bit wonky considering their nearly always filled up when the weather is just right. Now, I am just waiting for the re-release of the Cotton Candy Blizzard which I've been pretty much tracking across the country and have yet to encounter. read more

We went to get a blizzard in kittery, ME that was buy one full price get the second one for 99cents. They charged me full price for both. When asking about the promo a girl said that we had to ask for it. What kind of bs is that? I went to talk to a manager but, i couldnt find anyone that wasnt a teenager. Ordered two blizzards that were completely inedible. Cashier never told us they were out of one ingredient and completely half-assed our order, gave us two hot messes that we were attempting to return for a refund but the employees closed the doors and shut the lights off on us. When I think DQ, the only thing I think of is ice cream. I know they serve other items, but I can't get past the bright pictures with all the ice cream with different toppings. What can I tell ya? I love ice cream! I decided to try a burger last night. Picture this high traffic place in the middle of August. It was seriously bustling. I have to say, they handle the lines pretty quickly. If they didn't, I image their tip jars asking for college support and help funding a trip to Europe wouldn't be quite so full. Even the wait for the food was quick. I took my bacon cheeseburger and my strawberry shake and sat at one of the picnic tables. The tables were clean. There were a few napkins or bits of trash on the ground from careless diners, but nothing unexpected after a busy day. I was surprised to find that there were no bathroom facilities. I thought if food was being served, it would be nice to have a place to wash before eating. While the shake was very good, I found the burger to be just ok. I found it lacking in taste. The strongest flavor was the mustard instead of the burger. My advice would be to stick with the ice cream and skip the burgers. Minus one star for so-so burgers, and minus one for no bathroom. Seriously, families with kids need to have a bathroom facility. read more
