Outside Bob's Clam Hut - looking towards the outlet

Went to eat here after going to the huge outlet across the road, and we only waited a little in line: you order at the window then they call out your name/order number. No table service, so remember to grab napkins and flatware. The food orders were called soon and were picked up: clams and lobster roll, fries, more fish. Quite good overall although the lobster roll bite I had was cold, but the flavor was nice. The clams and lobster I tasted both lacked salt. The ambiance is relaxed with tables both inside and outside; basic decor with the menu displayed at the entrance (see photo) It was a nice late lunch after doing some shopping and sightseeing with friends.

Came here for dinner yesterday and ordered the quart for whole belly clams bob's style and a basket of scallops. The quart of whole belly clams market price was $60. The basket of scallops was $25. The clams were fried well and seasoned nicely. The scallops were great, portion size was a bit small for the price compared to other fried seafood places along the east coast. However, I like this place and I would still go back if I'm ever in the area again

Bob's Clam Hut is one of those places I remember always going to as a kid whenever we were visiting Maine! Unfortunately my most recent visit, I found the food being quite disappointing. We ordered fried scallops, fried whole bellies, and a cup of clam chowder. One of our orders I believe it was for the bellies, we did Lilian's batter, and for the scallops we did Bob's style. Both were not crispy at all and scallops were cold? Clam chowder was also not that great either, very watery. I think the best part of our meal was the cole slaw lol... I hope that it was just an off day and the food is still good normally because it was a bit of a let down after waiting for our food for so long. On another note, we found a table inside, to avoid the heat outside, and it's well air-conditioned... thank goodness!

We flew out here from Los Angeles for an impromptu Maine trip. We've never had lobster rolls, so our first order of business of course was trying some. Bob's was on our way from the airport to the hotel, so we stopped by. I hope this experience is indicative of what to expect over the next week, because this was great! The guy we ordered from was nice. He was patient with all our questions about what all the different beers were. Once we chose our beers, we tried one of the hot butter lobster rolls and one of the cold mayo lobster rolls. They were both phenomenal. I liked the hot one better, and my wife liked the cold one better. But we both enjoyed both. We brought our dog, so we sat out in the back patio area, which we really enjoyed. The front patio and inside did also look nice. This place was a great first lobster rolls and for us; I think they set a nice bar!

Bob's is located conveniently off 95 and is a great spot to visit if you're in Kittery or heading north. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Seats are first come, first served, but they are plentiful. Parking can be a challenge, but there is a big lot next door that's a short walk. We got cold lobster rolls. They come with fried pickles. The fries are great with their homemade tartar sauce. Honestly, I'd buy just the pickles if I could. They are the right amount of tart and garlicky. The cold lobster rolls are top 3. And I've had a lot of lobster rolls! A big serving of meat, rightly dressed, and perfectly cooked. The buns are buttery and toasted. Yum! Pro tip: they have online ordering. Save yourself from waiting in the LONG line.

Bob's Clam Hut NEVER disappoints! I stop by here every time I visit Kittery Maine and usually end up ordering a variety of the same items: scallops, whole clams, fish. They provide generous portions and the seafood is always fresh. I love the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce that comes with the fried seafood. You really cannot get this type of food anywhere else and it's perfect to share with a group. My family always gets the boxes which come in 1/2 pint, full pint, or quart. Usually 2 quarts of different seafoods is enough for 5 people (in my opinion). During my most recent trip, my friend and I ordered a 1/2 pint of whole clams and a pint of scallops and we had leftovers to take home. Again, the portions are generous, usually the boxes are overflowing. There are two lots on either side of the restaurant, one is much larger than the other. If you're having a difficult time finding parking, there are plenty of other parking lots nearby, just a short walk away. They also have ample picnic table seating out front and in the back, which is covered under a tent. Though there may be long lines, it's worth the wait!

We usually go to the Robert's location but wanted to try Bob's this time around! Cute seafood spot, they have plenty of outdoor seating, a parking lot and Air conditioned indoor seating. Order at the window and then wait to hear your order number called. Pickup window is around the front side of the building! Fairly quick 15 min wait for our food on a busy hot day. Pricing is as you would expect, staff are all super nice! The fried scallops for me could have been crispier batter, their style is light coating it seemed which kind of fell off for me before even squeezing any lemon on but overall still fresh and good! The lady enjoyed her full clam belly plate, fries weee nice and crispy. All the condiments can be found at the many stations, ketchup, hot sauce, tartar, mayo salt pepper etc. The clam chowder was too watery for my taste and bland, but toss some pepper and salt in and we're good. I prefer more of a chunky chowder! They have soda machines and ice teas / lemonade mix you can self serve if you purchase a fountain drink cup! All in all would come back nice cute spot!

We always stop at Bob's before venturing home. It's a causal eatery that offers a variety of fried seafood and other things. My mom and I split a basket of their whole belly clams--it's large enough for two people. The clams are tasty and perfectly fried, plus I really enjoy their tartar sauce. It comes with fries and coleslaw as well. Prices are pretty comparable to other places but be prepared to spend a lot.... They have plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. I've been here in the summer and this place can get pretty packed. The decor is also a fun theme and they seem to have remodeled each time I visit. Sometimes in the summer when you have to pick up your food outside it can be hard to hear your number called on the microphone so I usually stand close and wait. Check out this place when on Route 1 in Kittery, right down the street from the retail outlets.

Stopped here for a quick dinner. We got an order of fried clams and scallops (with fries). Both were delicious. The price is a bit steep compared to other clam snacks I've been to but I don't have any regrets.

Service was ok, the only interaction is when you order. Ambience was really nice. Food felt like it was just a tourist trap. There was no seasoning on the Fisherman catch. Like it was just floured and fried. It seemed fresh so there's that but it didn't even seem like they used salt. I also had the lobster stew. That was tasty but nothing to write home about. The lobster roll with mayo was good. Definitely fresh lobster. The toasted bun was tastier though. Can't complain too much though, you want to fresh lobster to shine through but it's sad to say I've had better lobster rolls for half the price. All of that was $110.

Ordered scallops basket as whole clams cost prohibited again... 33 bucks for 1/2 pint? Scallops excellent, fresh, too many fries as always ... would prefer onion rings as option instead?? Cole slaw fresh, needs more mayonnaise or cream mixture as dry still as last visit. I enjoy their scallops, but will have my clams elsewhere in Maine. The whole clams here are very good , but pricing for clams not reasonable to me.

Expect a wait! Lines around the building! Lightly fried scallops were perfectly cooked and the clam chowder met our expectations. Bob's is relight next to Kittery Trading Post so it gets a lot of tourist and repeat business. Food is cooked to order and They serve you in styrofoam trays, paper soup bowls with plastic utensils. This is a New England treasure!

And they have the displays to match. On this partly cloudy afternoon, I was in search of lobster tails. Upon requesting them, I discovered two things.. 1.) Unfortunately, the tails offered are not very big. Near as I can figure, they come in packs of 3 of what appear to be around 5 ounces each. 2.) Lobster really IS more affordable if you buy it in Maine. For context, a standard two pack of lobster tails at 5 ounces each (or sometimes 4oz) costs me around $25 in NH at the time of writing this review. The 3 pack of the same size tails costs the same price here at Taylor. So, naturally I bought two of those and ultimately nabbed a little under 2 pounds of lobstah for a mere $50. Sufficed to say - we will most certainly return at a future date. I have my eyes set on the fresh lobster meat next. As mentioned, everything in the glass display looked delicious. The place is easy enough to find. Just be aware their entrance is actually not in the front of the building, but on the right hand side. It's a little confusing at first, especially considering the tiny street view sign doesn't help much. If you drive into the "boat drop off" section, you're on the wrong side. Other items I wouldn't mind trying next visit are their lobster bisque and clam chowder. If you're coming across the border as I do, one pro tip I'd offer is to bring a cooler to keep your produce in for the day as you travel back. We transported the lobstah back in my car on an 85 degree day and the gel ice packs kept everything cold enough not to oxidize. Definitely check this place out for all your fresh seafood needs. The locals have spoken and I agree; Taylor Lobster Company is worth 5 fresh, buttery lobstah tails charred on the grill out of 5.
