I've been hearing about Warren's for years but when the waiter said there were new owners I wondered if that was a good thing. Sadly it turned out we should have continued on to Portsmouth for lunch rather than stopping at Warren's. Very, very disappointing and s very very expensive disappointment. I got the $48 lobster roll and yes, there was a lot of lobster . The problem is the lobster had absolutely no flavor. I'm used to a slightly sweet flavorful lobster and tasted like nothing at all'. They changed extra for onion rings instead of French fries. For $48 you'd think they could throw in a few onion rings. My husband thought the lobster bisque was awful - he left most of it. No lobster flavor at all. It was served lukewarm. He had it reheated but still awful. The waiter took off half the price because it wasn't served hot but it was still inedible. My sister asked for a fried clam roll , which they made and she enjoyed. But considering they charged $35 for done clams on roll she should like it. Very poor quality good for very high prices. The waiter was good and the pumpkin bread was the best thing we had.give it a pass. read more

First, they couldn't decide who our server was going to be. They took our drink order 3 times before we got our drinks. The beers listed on their table menu was not what they had! Second, the food was awful except the boiled lobsters which how can that go wrong:) the fries were soggy and the fried seafood had obviously been kept warm and reheated. But it was cold anyways. The stuffed haddock was swamped in oil. Third, The salad bar which they charge for was nothing special just your normal salad stuff. Fourth, they had a musician playing who was so loud we couldn't talk. We asked about it being lowered but were told there was nothing they could do! Then two people had asked for sides of fries. I have been coming here seasonally since I was a kid over 50 years ago, glad to see it reopened. Very clean and service was good. The owner is a bit scattered and on the rude side, especially to seasonal customers. We were seated in the tiki room and the fan was so loud I good barely hear my guest. There were extension cords everywhere both a tripping hazard and fire Marshall violation. Cheap decorations all over but kept to the tiki theme. I was very disappointed that our entrees $39.00 came in a cheap black plastic basket you find at Dairy Queen and it was dirty. I would rather have sat inside but that was for 360 card holder, which I understand, but lady we the seasonal customers are your cash cow for the year! So take a look at your seasonal customers and appreciate us as we appreciate coming here year after year, we matter too. read more

Warren's in Kittery is back open under new ownership and a new name, Warren's Seafood & More. They are in their soft opening phase with very limited menu and salad bar. The place inside is still old school with 3 dining rooms (and lounge) and the 60+ item salad bar in the main dining room. They were in their soft opening phase at the time of this posting. I stopped by on a quiet Tuesday afternoon since this was the day I was already in the area. I looked over the food menu which offers appetizers, chowder, lobster bisque, sandwiches, burgers, fried & baked seafood dishes, non-seafood meals, lobster dishes & rolls, and desserts. The prices are moderate and entrees include the salad bar, no soup yet. However, since it was midweek, the only food options were burgers, lobster roll, and salad bar. They just ran out of burgers when I got here, so you know where this is going. Anyways, I helped myself to the salad bar which had iceberg lettuce, spinach, veggies, peppers, pickles, stuffed pepperdews, pickles, bean salad, cold baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, hummus, taboule, cottage cheese, applesauce, strawberrie/blueberries, pineapple, dressings, garmishes, rolls, and pumpkin bread. The lobster roll had a good amount of claw & knuckle lobster meat on a toasted roll with a bag of Wachusett potato chips. I added some lettuce & pickles to the lobster roll from the salad bar. I had some homemade pumpkin bread (recommended) and fruit for dessert. The check was presented which was $34.55 with tax and before tip. I was glad to have a taste again of an old school institution with the only salad bar in the area. I did notice that the cutout plastic number card on my table was the Beach Plum lobster holding up 2 ice cream cones. Other than the flies invading my dining space, I would come back here when the place is fully running with more food offerings on a consistent basis. read more

First time back to Warren's since reopening. Was a 3 to 4 time a year customer before the original owners closed. For the most part it's the same place as it was before closing. Similar quality, similar amount of food, the seacoasts largest salad bar is the same-thankfully. The place is famous for Kitsch. Don't go there and expect Michelin rated dining . It's just a kind of a fun place to go. Check out the salad bar be casual, and enjoy some time. The waitstaff appears quite young, as if on summer break. I didn't see seasoned older waitstaff but I was there around noontime. The dish I ordered was baked haddock with root vegetables and baked potato. Fish had a fresh aroma, veg was a bit overcooked but seasoned well and a baked potato. Haddock was $30 and with the huge salad bar plate I left quite full, I'm 6' and 205 . Happy to see the iconic Seacoast restaurant back in full swing. read more

We ordered over the phone for pick up. It was very busy (a good sign). The shrimp were large (shrimp cocktail), the lobster roll was delish (I warmed it up a bit), the onion rings were excellent, as were the fries. My mom enjoyed her clam chowder. We had no idea how large the salads were (I guess that is why they say "world famous salad bar). I'm still eating the leftovers. My sister liked the chicken burger. Overall, a valid Maine experience! We are locals who have frequented warren's over the years, but hadn't been back since it reopened under new ownership. We saw a wonderful segment about it on NH Chronicle last week, and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype. Upon entering the restaurant, it doesn't appear that much has actually been updated other than the flooring and people who work here. And we were surprised by how few diners were there on a Thursday evening... but now I get it, we will not be returning. The positives were: --the young hostess, who accommodated our request to sit in a waterside booth --our server was a very nice man --the salad bar was just as we remembered it (still has yummy house dill dressing and pumpkin bread!) Now, the constructive feedback: --everything took a LONG time --there were several dirty bowls in the spot where you grab a bowl to build your own salad; we had to wait in line while 2 employees went through the bin, pulling out dirty bowls --boiled lobster did not taste fresh/sweet --draft beer tasted off --terrible live music--felt like an SNL skit --filthy bathrooms --there's just something 'off' about the vibe here read more

The baked haddock I ordered was a big piece of fresh fish that was the best I have had in many years. Lightly sprinkled cracker stuffing The carrots and broccoli side was fresh not canned . Now the salad bar was very good although I would like to see more pasta (rigatoni) and maybe some mustard pickles and carrot raisin salad. Overall it was enjoyable. So I have been going to warrens since the ripe old age of 15. I'm now 66. This is the FIRST time hat I have ever had a terrible experience. I was treating my daughter and son in law to a nice lunch at an establishment that all three of us have patronized many times before. I ordered a haddock sandwich with onion rings, (they are known for their onion rings). daughter ordered chicken tenders and of course onion rings, and son in law ordered the lobster roll. I knew that I had plenty of money on my gift card that I had purchased in May. $86.17. My daughter's first bite into the first onion ring. A HUMAN HAIR!!!!!! She was grossed out, and I was pissed. I called for the manager, and she offered m daughter more onion rings. wtf? My daughter wanted NOHING MORE TO EAT! So we just wrapped it up , and the manager came back order, and said that we would see a deduction on our bill. Remember, I had 86.17 on a gift card for use. I still had the original receipt from showing my balance. The wait staff came back and showed me that I only had $76.17. I told her that I did not put a tip on the check, I gave our waitress a $20.00 bill for the service. So the waitress goes back out back and returned and said that your gift card actually nothing on it. Now I'm at a emotional level of 10. So the waitress told me that she would try to run it again. And returned and said that I actually owed them $10.00. again wtf. I was so very angry. but more over concerned about my daughters food. I will NEVER PATRONIZE WARRENS AGAIN. They so very kindly (removed the price of my daughters meal, not her complete just her entree. ps, the human hair was wrapped around the onion then breaded then fried. Very expensive and the food was just okay. Old looking place, but good water views. Large salad bar. Was never told there was a soup bar by the waitress. Had to wait a long time at the table before she came, to take drink order, about 10 minutes. She told us there was confusion as to which waitress had our table. We were almost ready to walk out. I haven't been here in several years. First will say the interior has not changed one bit. It's definitely in a time warp! (And not in a good way) It's dated, dark and downright unattractive! The clientele was definitely older so maybe they don't need to keep up with the times if that's their demographic. Upon entering there were very few diners. As we walked through to a small table in the center, the hostess said "there are no water view tables open right now" as we walked past FOUR water view tables that were open and remained so through most of our dinner. Ok menu..."seafood and more" is in the restaurant name yet with the exception of a chicken sandwich, burger and I think chicken parm (?weird) there was pretty much only seafood. Prices? The salad bar alone is $25! But my date's meal, fish and chips was $25 and included the salad bar (again- ??) Let's talk about the salad bar. It was low on many items. There were slippery veggies on the floor around it. Not super clean. Service: I ordered baked scallops for $32. The menu said it came with the salad bar, rice or potato AND seasonal veg. I was given a choice of potato or veg- not both. Fine, I didn't feel like a fight so I chose the veg. After we ordered we helped ourselves to the salad bar, ate our salad and then proceeded to wait another 30+ minutes for our meals. During this time our server, Bailee, stopped once to apologize as she ran by then once again to say our meal was up next. We saw her bring food to several tables after that and waited another 15 minutes before ours came out. Food: scallops were hot but had too much mushy crackers on top for my liking. There were 6 scallops that were about the size of a nickel and a few small "chunks" (not whole). They were cooked well so can't complain about that. The vegetables? Lol burned, very scant and floating in a pool of oil (see picture). My date's meal was fried fish (overcooked) and onion rings (cold). We couldn't complain if we wanted to because Bailee was MIA. When she finally showed up to clear the table and leave the bill we had been done and sitting there for at least 20-30 minutes. She apologized again and said she was waiting for food in the kitchen so she was clearly aware of the problems! I've never wanted to leave $0 tip so bad! We did leave a tip but it was not deserved. For years I loved the food and the value of Warren's lobster pound in Kittery. I visited a week ago for lunch and was so disappointed! Under new ownership, the once large bowls of chowder are now very little and measure about 4" across for $16.00. A baby serving. The big salad bar is now 1/4 the size and the once extensive menu is one page now with small servings and high prices. A BIG TOUREST TRAP now. Very disappointing. I shall not return. read more

We went last weekend and won't be coming back for a long time. We don't they've been open only two weeks, but that's really not an excuse. Kinks should be marked out already . I Asked for a root beer we don't have that. On The salad bar half the stuff wasn't even on there and the stuff that was there was all mixed up with other things in it., there's no plain bread. The only bread is pumpkin if you eat that you're very good. If not, you don't get bread. I did have the chowder ate about four spoonfuls very watery no clams just potatoes. I got the broiled scallops which were basically tasteless, but they were a good size no seasonings added look like they were floating in water in a little silver tray when they were served . Decided to return to try it out since it's been reopened and there's LOTS of room for improvement. First off, our waitress was an absolute sweetheart so that was the one big positive. We were also sat quickly. Salad bar no longer has chilled plates even though the chilled plate sign is still there, bring that back. It's a nice touch. Soup bar, minestrone was dull. Needing flavor. Also have little saucer plates to put under cup. Hard to carry a cup of soup by the cup without it making a mess or burning you. Onion rings needed to be hotter and crispier, little floppy and batter was slightly under done. Fried haddock filet was skinny and flimsy. Salmon was ok, little dry and skin was left on and slimy. Crisp that skin if you're leaving it on! Mixed veg was a flop with mushy, mealy tomato chunks in the mix that didn't make sense and rice pilaf was super watery and flavorless. Pumpkin bread was still yummy, tabouli needs bulgar in it, not just loads of parsley and bring back baked potatoes. read more

Don't be fooled! This is not the same restaurant as was famous for years for its excellent dining. Standards have fallen off a cliff. Fish did not seem fresh. Clams smelled bad. Long time Warren's customers. Saturday was the best meal I've ever had at Warren's. Scallops and haddock with baked potato were excellent. Fresh, not greasy, served with plenty of tartar, butter and sour cream. Large portions. Salad bar was clean, great variety and well stocked. New wooden flooring is a nice update. Sweet potato chili was excellent. Waitress was the owner's sister and checked in on us multiple times. Only criticism was the blueberry cobbler cheesecake which was clearly made off premise and tasted like refrigeration. Menu should indicate that chicken tenders are available. Bring back the mustard pickles and candied apple slices to the salad bar. Mom was impressed. read more

My wife and I went there on Sunday afternoon. The salad bar was good, lots of stuff, seemed fresh. --but we had two issues that bothered us. #1 the young waitress we had was more interested in talking to the man in the booth behind us than taking care of us. She was young and needed more supervision. #2 There was a fellow doing live music, it was to loud, we couldn't have a conversation, seemed it should be in a lounge, not in a dining room people were trying to talk and enjoy their meal. I'm giving 2 stars only because the server's did their job. But the food was very bland. I got fried haddock. It had absolutely no flavor. A napkin would have had more flavor. My wife got broiled scallops and they were tiny and swimming in watered down butter. The salad bar wasn't too bad. The lobster bisque had no lobster in it. I tasted liked a bowl of melted butter. We were a party of 9 they sat us down waitress came over gave us drinks took our order All of us went to the salad bar great salad bar soup included after our salad the waitress brought our meals except my which was two steam lobster and a order of onions rings waitress apologized then 15 minutes later come my lobsters and she forgot my onion rings other 10 minutes later come come my onions By this time everyone has been eating in between waiting for my onion rings they is no way to break apart the shell it was a hard shell I have had lots of hard shell lobster no problem l do like hard shell lobster lobster before but no way was I was able to to get them open , I believe their were at o point bake anyway now we are looking for the waitlist and the I ask her to maybe have to cut the shell she brought them back came back 10 minutes later i they had no idea of.f how to open a lobster by now I was fed up and di d I mention the onion rings where horrible i just left them Only one person out of nine like their food Two lobsters and onions rings $84.24 with tax and I did leave a $12.00 tip total $ 96.24 when we got back home I made myself something to eat I live at Kittery estate independent living That night at dinner at the estate large dining room I made sure everyone at the estate new about it Never again Spent $ 96.00 and left hungry so sad read more

Had dinner there a few times since it opened. The host is very people friendly, Kathleen and Nancy have assembled a staff of wait persons, servers, cooks that are very professional. They have a bar staff that is very knowledgeable. Food is fantastic and they have a fantastic Salad Bar. The owner is female and a Veteran and offers Veterans discounts. The tables buy the windows overlook the water and the back side of Portsmouth Naval Station. They have entertainment on the weekends. read more
