Someone wisely told me once that we don't pay for quality, we pay for consistency, and find this very true. Ordered twice, once for dinner and once for dessert, so ice cream wouldn't melt. I ordered a blizzard cake for my grandson's birthday about a month before his party. The night before, my daughter was wondering if it happened to be done as they would be passing by the store. She called and the cake could not be found! So I called, the young woman I spoke with was able to find the cake! It had not been made (this is again, the night BEFORE) and patiently explained what she thought might have happened/why it had not Been made. She told me she was calling her general manager and would call me back. She DID call me back and a very happy ending as the cake was ready by the originally requested pick up time! I won't mention her know (but I do know it) but if I were her parents, her manager, I would be very proud of how she handled this situation! I was NOT the nicest (I'm so sorry ) as I was a little stressed about my grandson's birthday cake. In the end, thanks to the help of this employee, everything worked out perfectly and the cake was delicious!!!! read more

I was really disappointed with the service and the management at the DQ in Lynden wa. I went in to order dinner for my family and when I got it all the way back to Everson I noticed the my burger was missing. I understand that this happens once in awhile but what was the worst part was how the management treated me. They barely let me explain what happened and said if I came back they would make me another. That is a long way in the snow. So I guess they best he said he could do was send me a coupon. That sucks because I did not get my dinner. I am happy to see that there is other fast food coming into Lynden. I probably will not be going there any time soon. read more

I've lived here my whole life and this place has been a staple in town. I ordered the chicken basket and a blizzard. I was not offered different choice in sauces. (I know first world problems right?) When I asked Susan, who's been here since the dawn of time what were my choices she proceeded to speak with me in a very unprofessional matter. It was like I should have known, well shame on me I guess. Management needs to get a hold of these long overdue employees and maybe get them some sensitivity training. This DQ has the best food, it's always fresh, they aren't very quick but I'm OK with that.the problem is that I work retail usually 10-15 hours a day and I quite often stop here because they really do have the best and freshest food even though I don't get there until late in the evening. Unfortunately the associates working the window are so incredibly RUDE. Tonight I stopped by and ordered 2 large blizzards, when I paid I asked for a cup holder as I don't have anywhere in my car to hold them until I get home. The thin male with the brown ponytail and glasses said OK. When he brought my the blizzards he started to hand them to me, I asked again for the drink carrier, he grabbed the carrier, slammed my blizzard into it breaking the cardboard then practically throwing it at me. The blizzard fell out and​ still sticky with ice cream all over the side of the cup, went all over my work shirt and all he did was slam the window and turn his back on me. Honestly, I do understand how frustrating it is to try to close and maybe being understaffed but just a little understanding or compassion or just plain old customer service is not too much to ask for. Losing my service as a customer won't hurt your business and I can't even say this is a one-off because it isn't just not always this blatant. But for anyone who may take a minute to read this good luck at the drive through and hopefully you don't end up wearing your food because this guy is having a bad day. read more

I always like to go to the Lynden Dairy Queen because it has chocolate soft cones. Recently I had a small chocolate cone but was disappointed with the skimpiness of the ice cream. I expected more even though it was a small sIze I'd ordered. In the past, I received a generous small size amount so it had value to me as a customer but not so anymore. Perhaps it was just the server who went low on the order. Anyway I will continue to go there but I will order medium. read more

I only gave 3 stars because this DQ has the best food of any DQ I've ever been to BUT the drive thru wait times are HORRENDOUS!! In the last few months it seems to have gotten worse. Every time it's 5-6 minutes sitting at the menu waiting for someone to take your order then when you finally order and drive around there is nobody ahead of you at the window! The idea of a drive thru is not to help just one car at a time...it seems to be getting worse every time we go. Also, if you see one person (the driver) and nobody else in the car please don't try to hand me 4 drinks and 3 blizzards without lids on them. Where do you think I'm going to put all those? Drink carriers work great and I don't need attitude and an eye roll when asking for one. read more

The service is awful and the manager is not true to her word. At least 3-4 weeks ago we ordered through drive thru. The girl was asked if everything was in the bag, she replied yes. When we arrived at our office we discovered one of the orders was missed. Returned to DQ now after lunch break to pick up the missed order. Called and spoke to the manager and she was going to send a gift certificate for the mix up. Of course never arrived. Clearly they are lacking in customer service skills. read more

I just had the worst crispy chicken sandwich of my life. The only reason I'm giving this one star is because the drive thru girl was friendly. At one point when I bit into it I thought I might actually break my teeth because it was so crispy and over cooked. It pains me to have to write a bad review about any DQ. I've been a faithful DQ patron my entire life. However, I would suggest a big BUYER BEWARE when it comes to ordering their cakes. At least from the Lynden DQ. I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. The cake decorator herself took my order. I just wanted a simple design saying happy birthday with purple and pink butterflies placed around the edges. She said they had it, showed me the butterflies she would use and then I paid in advance. When I went to pick up the cake they were fairly busy. So, instead of going to the front of the line because I had already paid, I waited 15 minutes in line to get my cake. When I finally told them I was there to pick up my cake, they went and got it out. It had 2 butterflies, brown and black and they were in the center. I told the girl that I ordered pink and purple butterflies to be around the edge. She offered me a refund. I said I didn't want a refund because I wanted the cake I ordered and my daughters birthday celebration was later that night, so I needed the one that said happy birthday to her. She huffed (and I'm not exaggerating, she actually huffed at me) and then went to the back to see about the butterflies. She came back and out and proceeded to tell me that she can't find them and that the cake decorator had been hurt and couldn't work. Then she offered me a refund. I, again, told her no and that I wanted my cake I ordered (because I knew it didn't take a decorator to lay down a few butterflies on the cake - no decorations were necessary). She then turned to the manager and asked for some help and he LITERALLY looked at her and at me and said, "I just don't have time today for cakes." And then he went back to working at the drive through. She looked at me. I looked at her. She went back to the back again. She came out with a handful of black and brown butterflies and said that it was all she could find. I resigned myself that this was the best help I was going to get int he butterfly department and said, ok that will do, I guess. She then proceeded to hand them to me. I asked if she was asking me to decorate my own cake that I already paid for to be decorated. She stared at me for a couple of seconds, pulled her hands away and actually said, UGH. Then she turned around went to the back and put the butterflies on the cake and brought it out to me. Thanked me for coming and said, "Sorry for the wait." Never once did anyone in management try to help with my problem. Never once did they offer me a discount since it wasn't exactly what I ordered. Never once did they apologize for dropping the ball or their rudeness. I wrote headquarters at Dairy Queen and wrote down in detail what happened including the names of the employees. That was a month ago. I have not heard one thing from them about it. No response as to what action was taken. No apology. BUYER BEWARE. Dairy Queen is great for a good burger, chicken strip, ice cream or blizzard. But they do not care about keeping their word on their cakes and making sure the customer has what they need on the special day they planned. Very disappointing. read more

So the food and ice cream is totally awesome! However, the service here is horrible. Drove here from Sumas three times now just to have icecream! There are a few young people working here who don't have any manners! There was five of us ordering with no one behind us. The gal working the counter rushed us from the very beginning, never asked us how we were or made any small talk while we were deciding. Then when my grandma was rummaging through her purse for change she got even more annoying trying to cash out saying we didn't have enough money. Well yeah she wasn't done getting the rest of her change out. There was no line still at this point. What can I say??? I love the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard, not the new fancy one, but the old time favorite with real Reese's peanut butter chunks in it. Talk about a little piece of Heaven in a cup!!! My husband likes the Cookies and Cream Blizzard the best. We're not big fans of their hamburgers though.
