We visited around 5:00 PM, and the restaurant wasn't very busy. It took a few minutes to be seated, which wasn't a big issue, but the service problems started right after. After being seated, our waitress greeted us briefly and then disappeared. It took about 20 minutes to place our order because she never came back to the table. She didn't appear busy or overwhelmed--most of the time, she seemed to be in the kitchen. When she eventually returned, she brought our drinks and, later, our plates, but the plates were dirty and still had food on them. She set them down and walked away without noticing or addressing them. Once our food arrived, it was actually good, which was the one positive part of the experience. However, she never checked on us--not once--to see if we needed anything. At the end of the meal, she brought the card machine so we could pay and then walked away again without returning. We also asked for a to-go box, which never came. We eventually had to go to the bar and ask another staff member for one ourselves before leaving. Overall, the food was fine, but the service was consistently inattentive and frustrating from start to finish. Given that the restaurant wasn't busy, this was disappointing, and I hope they improve their level of service. read more

So this is an average place. Was in town to see family who have lived here for a while. Since I've visited often, I've been to most of the restaurants that have open and closed in the area, but for whatever reason, I never went to Bob's Burgers and Brews. So on our way out of town, my kids and I decided to try something new and went here. (We had stayed at the hotel attached to the Bob's Burgers in Sumas, WA and were not impressed, so that might have contributed to us not going here anytime before). It was near opening, so we got seated right away. We had a big corner booth to ourself, although on the way out, they seated a party at the table next to it and the gap was so small, I was bumping into the poor person who was seated there. It didn't affect us on the day, but I could see it being very crowded. Our wait staff was wonderful and pleasant; she had just graduated from high school and was cheerful about it, so she was a definite bright spot. She came and took our order right away and was quick on the drink refills as well. We started with an order of mozzarella sticks. They were good...but for ten bucks for eight, they were pretty pricy and nothing special. We ate them all pretty quick but that sure did seem expensive. One son and I each had a smash burger. Small, double patties with grilled onions and the usual condiments and toppings. Neither of us went with the sauce, and my son foregoed the onions. It was alright. Somewhat smallish but decent. It had a huge amount of onions, though, and I ended up pulling some of them off. The cheese was also...well, not bad. But not great. I think it was American singles but I'm not sure. It had a strange kind of flavor to it. Not sure if this was a one-off or just how it is. I didn't particularly hate it, but I didn't love it either. My other son got the chicken strip basket. Three fried chicken strips which was pretty standard. BBQ sauce was provided and my kid seemed to enjoy it all. The whole thing was a little more than I wanted to spend, even with lunch specials, but not totally out of line. The mozzarella sticks were probably the most expensive of the bunch. I don't necessarily know that we'll be back, but not for any particular reason. If someone wanted to go there, we maybe would. I also noted they have gluten free options, which is a necessity for my partner, so depending on how safe they were, that might be an option for us. The service was excellent. We were seated quickly. When I sat down, I checked my cellphone, the Yelp page was still on the screen showing. I noted the place closed in 18 minutes. We agreed not to dawdle about choosing our meal. The waitperson was prompt and helpful. Even a little chatty. We ordered our meals, got our drinks with no sense of being rushed at closing. Went on in to bobs.... I ordered the Western Bacon and a salad.... Fn'A it was good!! probably the slowest burger I ever ate I didn't want to lose the flavor! I ate it all, slow enough to drink two beers before finishing.... The Bob's Burgers in Lynden is disappointing for a number of reasons. Firstly, the restaurant needs a deep clean from the seat cushions to the carpet. This location could also use an overall renovation. I thought that during the first year of covid that this location would have taken the opportunity as many other restaurants did to make much-needed renovations but this didn't work out. With respect to Bob's trademark burgers, they don't match up to other Bob's Burgers locations. Birch Bay has excellent burgers from fresh Angus beef and they do not disappoint. The Bellingham location is also very good but I would be surprised if the Lynden location uses the same beef or perhaps it was a case of the beef not being grilled properly, I'm not sure. This is my experience with the Lynden location of Bob's Burgers. I would recommend both the Birch Bay and Bellingham locations. read more

Thursday night I ordered the Cranberry Turkey Burger with Potato Wedges and got the Avacado Turkey Burger. At least the Avacado burger was good. So we're the potatoes (even though there were 7 whole potatoes on my plate - which were the delicious saving grace to the meal). This is the original Bobs Burger and Brew and it has been my favorite restaurant ever since I can remember chomping down on one of their massive burgers, stuffing my face with a hand full of their incredible fries smothered in Tartar Sauce, and having a great time with family and friends doing it. I have lived in Lynden my entire life, and one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of this town is this restaurant. Whether your celebrating a special occasion, catching a bite with your buddies, or even having a date Bobs is always at the top of the list. The menu is flawless. I can't tell you how many times I've been there but I haven't tried something new and been dissapointed. Breakfast is essential as their eggs Benedict is one of the best ways you can wake up in the morning and then go back to sleep after. Their burgers are huge and they are piled with their long crispy fries. The salads are humongous, with a variety of kinds and dressings. I love their chowder and the other soups such as the cream of broccoli are a perfect appetizer to get you through the wait for your food. I've never had a dessert because I am always so full but I've heard they are great. Popular place for local girls from high school to work at so I always have known the servers and even if I didn't, received very good service. They always check in on you, able to give you any request you need, don't leave the table after serving until everyone is satisfied with the plate laying before them, and they are great at small talk. If you don't like to be bothered then this might bug you but compared to other places it is a good balance. A few of my favorite things about Bobs is the quantity, quality, and fair price for your food. They have expensive dishes but the main menus are fairly priced and Always have been. The place is kept extremely clean. Tables are cleaned and ready efficiently. It is a popular place so sometimes in big parties you may have to wait for your table. Unlike other locations that are newer, this bobs is a bit smaller but they have a drive through window as well which my wife and I personally use frequently. The only negative things I will say is that when doing the drive thru we constantly request extra dipping sauces and almost alwAys get the minimum. The bar is very small and typically packed with regulars that take over the whole place. The actual bar is nice with a view of a TV and the bartenders Pour heavy! read more
