I went to DQ last week and this as been weighing on me because this isn't DQ way of treating customers. I went through the drive thru the girl that took my order was incredibly rude throwing my change at my hand and couldn't even acknowledge me saying thank you and please and proceeds to shut the window in my face ! Another employee came up and tried to make excuses for saying she was jealous that I wasn't at work and she was that's why her attitude was atrocious! I've actually never seen a Grill & Chill location and was feeling hungry so decided to pop in and see what they had. The drive-thru was really long but going in and ordering wasn't too bad. They have all the usual ice cream treat items and then a lot of foods like burgers and chicken sandwiches. I decided to try the chicken sandwich and then one of the seasonal blizzards that had salted caramel and toffee pieces. The sandwich came out fast (like way too fast) and the blizzard took a long time. I think everyone orders blizzards as there was a line-up at the machines making them for the drive-thru and in-store customers. The sandwich was just okay. Not even close to one you'd get at Popeyes. It was rather bland but good enough to not be a total waste. The blizzard was just okay. The toffee pieces were a bit overwhelming but the salted caramel base was tasty. the food here is always great, but the customer service is hit or miss, there are two managers in the somersworth location and it is noticeable that only one of them is handling it well, with (I think his name is Ernie) he handles it like you would expect, everything comes out on time, and the customer service with him is amazing, but the other manager (carol) is not handling it quite so well, nothing came out quickly, some were left waiting for 30+ minutes, and than another 5-10 for ice cream. I understand that it does not all fall on the management but it would be a lot better if there was more staff members putting less stress on them, that's all, I hope to see improvement because I love this location. read more

Terrible customer service. We went through the drive through so my son could use his gift card from Christmas. When I asked for the card back because my 5 year old wanted it she said no and tossed it in the trash. Which immediately made my son cry. She then laughed and turned away assuming we wouldn't see her laughing. I get it you can't dig out of the trash. I should have asked for it back before handing it to her. After getting my order I realized the mint brownie blizzard was sans MINT. Sooooo, I get back in the drive through line and kindly let them know that what I ordered was not what we got. Then a worker comes out to my car before we even got to the window and hands me a RUNNY SOUPY BRIGHT GREEN (F-U here's the mint you wanted mint) mint brownie blizzard!!! It was what we can all look forward too as far as customer service goes in todays high priced f-u attitudes we are all giving and getting from our normally most kind eatery spots. Honestly I know it's a fast food joint but for what it is it's not bad. No you're not going to get the most amazing food you've ever had but all in all I was happy. I've been here various times, obviously their main staple is their ice cream, but I've had their chicken strips which are nicely done with not to much breading and tender chicken. Today I got their double cheeseburger. The meat tastes good, but you can taste that it was frozen, but it's not bad. They always get the processed cheese melted perfectly and the bun very soft, probably steamed. They had a two for five deal so I got that with a m&m blizzard which I love. It's VERY clean and I'm constantly seeing employees washing their hands and using the paper towel that they dry their hands with to shut the faucet off. Got one of the new bacon double cheeseburgers. It was ok, very sloppy to eat. Top roll seems not big enough for sandwich, also felt very firm. Bacon was very undercooked. Sandwich seems oversized and unwieldy. Although I somehow stuffed a fabulous onion ring in it, like other sandwich's and the crunch was amazing. I have been to this Dairy Queen twice even though I do not live in Manchester. Both times I have been very satisfied with my blizzard. On my last visit this week I ordered a small peanut butter cookie dough smash blizzard without the cookie dough and chocolate chunks. It cost close to $4. Even though I omitted two ingredients they were very generous with the amount of peanut butter cookies and peanut butter sauce they put in. I had a piece of cookie in every spoon. The consistency of the blizzard was thick and fantastic. I took my time eating it and it never melted. I would've given them 5 stars but the person serving me did not hand me my blizzard upside down and that really annoyed me. read more

This is the Dairy Queen by which all Dairy Queens are measured. What I like about it...the food comes to you fast, it's greasy and tastes really good. No need to eat for the rest of the day after a burger and fries here. And then there is the obligatory after dinner treat, the Blizzard. Usually when I'm here I'll get the Strawberry Cheesequake. Yeah, it's heavy and rich but, wow, is it tasty! The Oreo Blizzard also rates highly but my favorite is still the Cheesequake. They did a great job with the remodel. Looks really nice inside. Still - way overpriced for mediocre ice cream, there's a weird and confusing parking lot to navigate, and it is always overcrowded here (maybe due to this being one of the only DQ's in the area).
