Always love the frozen blizzards and drive through option. There's a bit of a disconnect with trying to tell management about the free blizzard barcode on the receipts. My husband ordered a meal there and used Apple pay to pay. He got charged twice and they said it declined when the money came off of Apple Pay right away. The very rude manager wouldn't give him his food even though the money came off of Apple Pay and he showed it to her. So he left the store with no food and no money. We never get treated like this and always treat others with respect so to have someone (a manager of all people) be so rude and not try to resolve a simple issue is ridiculous. I've been coming to this location for years, but this was the worst experience yet. I got in the drive-thru a few minutes before 9 PM and waited 15 minutes, only to be told they weren't taking any more orders--despite serving the car right in front of me. When I explained I had been waiting since before closing and that I saw the customer they asked to get out of his car to count the cars behind him (which included mine) the employee dismissed me and said, "I'm not going to argue with you." Horrible! The GM should be ashamed of themselves!! I came here on feb8th around 6:15pm to order a blizzard!!! First of all the lady taking my order at the drive through was EXTREMELY rude!!!! When I got to the window to pay for my food it got even worst!! I handed her my phone to use the tap feature since she was not able to hold it up for me!!! She kept tapping it incorrectly! I just got my food around 9:15 pm. There service was all right, kinda scary workers. The bread i got in my tender basket was soggy and wasn't even fully cooked. The tenders were small, you could i even only had 3 because of how small they were. The ranch was very sour like tasting. My husband didn't even get his barbecue sauce he asked for twice. Date of visit: 7/29/22 We don't hit up fast food joints very often, but we had a gift card and a friend that loves ice cream--the perfect combination for a Dairy Queen visit. It was a bit of a bummer that the drive thru is the only option after 5 pm; not because the dine-in experience is so amazing, but because the drive thru line is long and at $4/gallon, no one wants to spend more money idling behind the guy ordering for a family of eight! Also disappointing is that the menu isn't available before you get to the speaker, leading those of us that don't visit regularly to scramble to order as to not make the line even longer. All that being said, the food was quite tasty (I didn't realize that their fries are so good!) and fresh. Plus the employees that we interacted with were very friendly. Hamburgers are premade hours earlier. They are served cold. The cook races to see if he can deliver your order before you turn to fill your soda cup. The buns are not fresh. I'm guessing they are laid out on the counter so the cook can race to serve faster. The restaurant is clean. The help are friendly. No customers sitting and eating. The drive thru is only available & not opened inside due to COVID which I can understand. The line gets long but goes pretty fast which I was surprised. I had a coupon via their app Buy 1 get 1 for .99 which is an awesome deal. Their scanner was down but they were able to key in my phone number linked to my account to redeem my deal. I love all the deals via the app & will continue to visit this location. In the past the cleaning in the inside need to be done more often due to traffic but other than that all is good read more

I ordered a chocolate malt. Asked for a bit of extra malt powder to make it taste a little stronger. When I got to the window, noted on my receipt that I was charged $.20 more than what was posted on the drive-thru menu board. Also noticed I was charged about $.30 more for extra malt powder. I asked how much additional power was put in... teaspoon or less. Wow, pretty expensive ingredient. And yes, I'm not counting the labor cost, as they already were putting some in anyway. The Menomonie Dairy Queen has become a joke! The lobby is seldom open and the entire place is closed on Monday. It's right next to a State University campus, do they think that they are lacking the foot traffic business? The drive through line backs up into the street and it takes forever to get to the window to place an order. The drive thru area doesn't have enough space and vehicles get sandwiched in causing even more back up issues. Occasionally can be understadable, but this is the norm. The limited staff is doing the best that they can and normally very pleasant. The food is good, but it's just regular fast food for the most part. I have gone to this Dairy Queen on many occasions. Usually everything is OK. The reason I am giving them one star today is because I repeated my order five times and they still got the order wrong. Besides getting the order wrong, they failed to give me the special price which is two for five dollars cheeseburgers, Instead they charged me full price which was About 4 dollars extra.When the manager came and spoke with me, she said I'll need to tell them in the future if I want the two for five dollar price because they have all new 15-year-old working here. That just seems wrong to require customers to ask for the special price they offer. Be careful when you shop here so they don't take more money than they should. It should always be on the business to charge you correctly, not on the customer to remind them what to charge. The food is good but a manager asking to put the onus on the customer is just wrong. If they ring up 30 orders a day like mine DQ will have an extra $150 in the till at the end of the day. read more
