Dairy Queen in meriden almost always has a line wrapped around the block but I keep going back anyway. I really love the onion rings here. they're crispy, flavorful, and always hit the spot. I usually go for a bacon burger or the chicken tenders, and both are consistently delicious. And you can't not get a Blizzard. The Cotton Candy Blizzard is my favorite, but there are so many options that I always end up wanting to try more than one which is exactly how I end up spending way too much money every visit. I typically use the drive-thru or takeout window since there's no dine-in at the Meriden or Wallingford locations. If you're looking to sit down, the Cromwell location does have indoor seating, so it really depends on what kind of experience you want. Overall, it's a go-to spot when you're craving something quick, indulgent, and worth the wait, even if that wait means sitting in a long drive-thru line. read more

Very disappointed with Dairy Queen in Meriden. This is the second time I've come in the last few months. Previously I got a kitty cone with chocolate dip and it barely had any chocolate dip. You couldn't taste the chocolate It was so thin. I thought it was a one time thing. I really wanted a cone with chocolate dip. Today I went through the drive-through and that's all I got. The service was fine no problems there. But when they handed me this small vanilla cone with chocolate dip. I asked what is this? Is this actually chocolate dip? It doesn't look like it. It's very thin and it doesn't taste like it. The staff member just looked at me. Is this how it is always? And she said pretty much. I paid and I left. It doesn't taste like anything doesn't taste like chocolate. It's not good at all. I can't say how other things are but do not get the chocolate dip, as you will be disappointed too. read more

This place has been here for along time and its a nice place to get some icecream and food. They have nice employees and there is tables outside to eat. The food is decent the burgers are flame broiled which gives it good flavor and they have chicken sandwiches and strips too . The menu is pretty big so there is something for everyone . My son just wanted a simple cup or vanilla with sprinkle today and I went with a sundae with peanut butter and chocolate shavings . read more

I guess gone are the days of the three big blobs of ice cream in the banana split and also the pineapple topping. I ordered a banana split and what I got was barely any ice cream it was more like one small soupy blob with a little chocolate one strawberry and no pineapple. Did get half a banana at least and one line of whipped topping. From now on I'll stick to Les's dairy bar down the street. read more

Wow, I haven't had the opportunity to get a hand dipped (to order), cone from DQ in ages! This was a great treat and really brought my back to my childhood. They still make their cones with the swirl on top and is really a classy way to present it. They are open late, and although you can't seem to enjoy your treat indoors (which would have been nice since it was getting cold outside), it was still a very worthwhile stop. read more

From ice cream to burgers, this place has it all for me. The staff is friendly and the parking is plentiful. Parking lot is a bit difficult to maneuver around though and it is extremely difficult to get out of with Broad Street Traffic. The wait is quite long, but it is worth every minute. Ordering takes place at a pickup window outside and they have seating, but in colder seasons there is nowhere to go but there. There is also a drive-up window if you live in the area. This is the only reason I would visit the east side of Meriden other than getting to the mall. read more

Needs vigilance in practicing safe food handling. Cashier who handles money and cards need better hand hygiene practices or better yet, dont have the cashier handle the food at all unless it's already bagged. Touching the ice cream cone is not acceptable, regardless of the tiny bit of a paper covering at its bottom portion. Separate staff preparing the food or icecream who did not touch any money or cards can hand it over to the customer instead. read more

Today was my first time to this location since last summer- hot weather always puts DQ into my head! I ordered the Crispy Chicken lunch special. Perfect fries, fresh and totally delicious crispy chicken. The Strawberry Sundae was great as always. Even the Fountain Coke had the right combination of flavor and carbonation. Way better than ANY other fast place- and half the cost. The staff at the Meriden location was very friendly and efficient. Nothing better!!! read more

This dairy queen has to be the worst in ct. The workers are queer and rude. I went through the drive through and ordered my brother a medium Reese's blizzard. I opened it in the car and noticed it was honestly just a pint of vanilla ice cream so I drove around and went to the window to see if he can get a medium REESES blizzard. Nope, the guy with a pony tail goes "we put 2 ounces of candy in the blizzard" mind you he didn't even look at my blizzard and notice no Reese's. Instead of making a scene I walked off. I just returned from a trip to this Meriden CT Dairy Queen. They have posted throughout the store that the Blizzard is served upside down or it's free. It was served not really full, and certainly not upside down. I said to the tall, dark haired young man...oh the Blizzard is free now. And he said...oh no - only the Rolo Blizzard is served upside down, not any other favors. What a brazen lie! Does he think all their Dairy Queen customers are stupid? Without arguing I just paid and left. But I'm not a happy camper. read more

This has to be the slowest service anywhere. I only live a few blocks from here but I will drive to Southington if I want a DQ. I could drive to Southington, place an order and be back in less time than it would take to place an order at the Meriden DQ. read more
