We came here on a Friday night, after my niece's soccer game. The drive thru service was kind of slow but some of this was my fault. The gentleman working was pleasant and polite. I originally went to Dairy Queen to try and get this dessert that has been trending on social media. Upon receiving my dessert I was so excited to try it and I was not disappointed. The service that I received was typical for fast food. We did have to wait for the "cupcakes", but we were told that this would be the case so we obliged. The 10 min wait was well worth it. As shown this dessert has a layer of chocolate ice cream, a layer of their famous cookie crunch, a layer of vanilla ice cream and lastly whipped cream with sprinkles. This dessert was the perfect pick me up on a Friday afternoon. We sat in a booth in the middle of the restaurant, which is the perfect location to talk each others ears off! Very rude. I went out with my family for a birthday treat. Arrived at 7 pm on a Sunday and there was only one car in front of us and no one behind us. I ordered a mini blizzard and got cut off and told the total. I then said "I would also like another blizzard". The lady working the drive thru cut me off and said "aren't you cold? You guys must love these things." I order my 2nd blizzard and before I can order the final item I was going to order I was cut off and told to pull around. Went by to get a dessert for my two daughters. Waited for a long time before I could order and the drive thru person was a little rude. Which, the few times I've been there the drive thru has been rude on the speaker. I think once time I went and they were polite. I asked for no whipped cream on my milk shake but it had it on top. I had to wipe down the sides of one of the mini blizzards I got for my daughter because it was covered in ice cream. I know I could go to Sonic but after working there for 13 years I'd rather not. They close early all the time. I got to the store at 9:40 pm on Saturday night (10/22). Sign on the door and the Internet said they close at 10:00 p.m. They said they were closed. This has to be one of the worst locations out there. IF they are open (and that's a big if) be prepared to wait about 30 minutes in the drive thru. read more

I only do not recommend the DQ in Pelham, AL. DONT GET AN ICE CREAM CAKE HERE. I ordered an ice cream cake for Mother's Day 5 days in advance. I got the confirmation email saying that it had been confirmed at Pelham Parkway. When we went to pick it up on Mother's Day they said they had been out of cakes for a while. But the associate was gonna call the manager because she saw the confirmation. She even sent a picture of the confirmation to the manager. The manager then said that she sent an email to me saying they were out of cakes. I, having a search bar in my email, showed them that they did not. The associate told me that she believed me and she's sorry. I proceeded to ask for the managers information. The associate told me she was going to bring it out to me. We sat and waited for about 10 mins and she never came back. We drove to the window and waited for another 5 minutes. (We saw them looking at us they just wouldn't come to the window). Finally when a car was behind us the associate came to the window. She opened the window and said "we don't have cakes." So I said "what about the managers name you were gonna give me." She proceeded to tell me that she can't give that info out and that I probably just ordered it for the wrong store. EVEN THOUGH SHE SAW THE STORE ADDRESS FOR PELHAM PARKWAY ON THR CONFIRMATION. Ordered a cheeseburger combo with an upgrade to a chocolate shake in lieu of the drink. I told them what condiments I wanted on the burger: mayo, ketchup, pickles, onions & tomato. Not only were there were no pickles on the burger, but I was surprised later when I looked at the receipt and saw that they had charged .80 cents extra for two very small slices of onion and a thin slice of tomato. The fries container was not full and the chocolate shake was so weak and soupy thin that if I were tasting it without knowing what it was, I would have guessed it was a weird flavored vanilla milk. Employees could be seen talking and playing around. I went to Captain D's before coming here. When I made it home, the Captains Ds was warmer than the Dairy Queen we had just picked up. So this review is for the ice cream only, as I haven't had any of the regular food items on the menu. They do have a full selection of burgers and chicken sandwiches/fingers that can be ordered individually or in meal deals. All for a pretty reasonable price. The ice cream and deserts menu has grown over the years. Now in addition to the classics you have come to expect at DQ (Blizzard, shakes, and sundaes) you can also find smoothies and Orange Julius. Makes this a good place to go if you have a large group as they pretty much have something for everyone. They also have ice cream cakes. These too have expanded in their offerings over the years. The traditional which is basically a vanilla and cookie and chocolate is still on the menu, but now they offer a whole variety of Blizzard ice cream cakes that incorporate some of the favorite flavors you can order in a blizzard. Service at the drive through tends to be average. Doesn't take too long (typically) and the staff is friendly. If you go insides, for whatever reason it tends to take awhile to place and get your order. Staff is friendly here too, just not exceptionally quick. This location is convenient for me, but I was a little disappointed by the service. I order a grilled chicken salad and it took a little longer than I anticipated. It was simply lettuce, cheese, bacon bits and chicken. Then, pulled up to the lot and saw I didn't get a fork. I got back in the drive through and told them why I was in line again. After I waited behind 2 cars, the young man at the window said they were out. I asked for a spoon. It would have been good to tell me that when I told him why I was in line instead of making me wait again. Better yet, he should have offered that, and a free coke, cookie or a small cone. So, I just went back and the order was not right, but the service was right! I got an apology and the order was corrected. Definitely more stars this time! read more

Tonight we pulled through here and got a chicken finger meal and a small blizzard for my 8 year old. She makes bad food choices but I indulge her sometimes. It was $13 for a chicken finger meal and a small blizzard. I'm not a penny pincher, but come on. When a child gets a meal for $13 at a drive-thru, that's a problem in my book. When it's clearly been sitting out for a very long time, lukewarm and old, that's a problem. The other day my wife bought 4 blizzards for the kids. They were all melted when they passed them out the window and proceeded to splash warm sugary milk all over the floorboard of our truck. She was not pleased. This place is bad. Avoid it.
