Dairy Queen periodically changes up their menu, so offers stated may or may not still be available. I went for dinner so I knew I couldn't get the "5 Buck Lunch," but I noticed it's no longer even available. There are now two $6 Meal Deals available all day which used to be 5 Buck Lunches. I get it; prices increase. Ordered the 3-Pc Chicken $6 Meal for my son. Asked for no ice in drink, and they obliged. Standard sundae included. Note that the sundae is slightly melted. However, I live about 5 minutes away, and it was pretty humid tonight. We love soft serve though so not a problem. Not much to say as this is just a typical fast food meal. Not bad, and certainly not bad even for the recent price change, but it's just average. This location is always busy, a favorite of teenagers. As far as I know, they are really the only show in town when it comes to dessert with the # of options that they have. This shows by the # of cars you can find in the parking lot or backed up through the drive through any given day at almost any given time. I've actually never been inside this location, so I can't speak to the interior operations. But they do run the drive through pretty efficiently. If you haven't been here before they aren't the cheapest when it comes to sweet treats, but they do have a variety of sizes and a variety of price points. Blizzards are my go to usually, but every once in awhile a vanilla shake hits the spot. Also, they do something different with the vanilla, it has a little hint of something else in it, that I can't place. Blizzards are prepared and turned upside down to show that it isn't melted and is nice and thick. So they do have a form of QC at DQ. All in all this location isn't bad, and like I said I think Pelham is the next closest place that is like this, so it's a nice choice for people traveling through or the folks living in Alabaster. read more

Can't get the orders correct. Last three times over the last month in the drive through, items were wrong or missing. Paying for something you didn't get is just poor service. Training employees to check the order before handing over to the customer should be standard practice. read more

I asked the cashier to place a sundae top on both blizzards. The Manager on duty stopped the associate, and she said to me "I tell my employees not to use sundae tops." My reply to her, "the blizzard leaks and the sundae tops are better during the ride." The mgr disagreed and offered a flat top and bag. I disagreed with her bag suggestion. I am a regular customer, and a sundae top has never been denied to me. My reply seemed to incense the mgr. She expressed to me this would be the last time and my request would not be honored during future vists. I'm really surprised that a restaurant whose vision states - "TO BE THE WORLD'S FAVORITE QUICK-SERVICE RESTAURANT" and mission states - "TO CREATE POSITIVE MEMORIES FOR ALL WHO TOUCH DQ" The manager was rude to her employees as well as to me, the customer. Based on the actions of this mgr you are no longer my favorite quick service restaurant, and a negative memory has been created. In the past, store associates would scrape the blizzard top, and force the flat top on. This causes more spillage to cup. In addition, the associates would not wipe cup afterwards. Therefore, to remedy this, I request a sundae top. I have never complained and remained a faithful customer. However, that is no longer the case. I hope additional training is offered to your drive thru staff, and a crucial conversation is had with the manager. I am sure she is a good mgr, and has the potential to be great manager some day. read more

When I told them to just cancel the order, they couldn't find the order and just made a mental note to not fill that order. The blizzard took way too long, did not have the extra "stuff" that was ordered and when the girl delivering it turned it upside down to show how thick it was, it started running all over the place. Sometimes you just need a good ole cheeseburger. Don't know why this place gets a bad rep. I have never had one problem out of here or the staff the 4 years I have eaten here. They have some of the best fast food burgers close by. Yes, their combos are a little pricey but to me worth it. They also offer the 5 dollar box which is a life saver! This Dairy Queen has the rudest manager. I had an issue where for some reason the manager charged me an additional $0.25 on a kid's meal. She had no idea why, though it appears it was for the cup. The manager said the kid's meals come plain. If you add anything they charge. So if the $0.25 was not for the cup, I was charged for $0.25 ketchup & mustard! She also charged $0.10 for onions. Not a smart way to do business. Don't nickle and dime the customer then argue about the charges. Just charge a higher price for kid's meals. The really sad part is this was during lunch so I could have ordered the $5 Lunch, gotten more food which I would not have eaten and just ran up their food cost. Very poor customer service.
