Went on a trip with the family and while we were there we ordered a cherry dipped cone. 1st cone was a small cone but it was the size of a golf ball and that's being generous. The second was a large and it was the size a small should be. I was so dumbfounded I asked if the big one was the small considering the cone was bigger than the ice cream and the dip... don't get me started.. she remade the one large one which was somewhat better but if I'm spending $5 on a cone I generally expect the same as every other Dairy Queen. Not perfection but to get what you paid for. We returned a few days later on our way out of town hoping it was just a rough day but nah.. my cone was sad.. the customer service was dry. If ZERO was available, I would give that. My son ordered a chili dog for me, take out. The person behind the counter said it would be a few minutes because they had to heat up the chile? When I got the chili dog, it looked like they had scraped the bottom of the pot from the left over chili of the day. I have always loved their chili dogs but after this experience, we have vowed to NEVER eat at any Dari Queen again. The owner should be keeping a closer tab on the employees. About App Ordering at the Stephen's location... Well, my mom and I have a thing for Blizzards, so I can say that ordering them online and picking them up inside have been excellent experiences! They are always kept cold in the freezer right up front and if they're not done right, they are willing to remake it to your satisfaction. I will say though, that they should add pineapple to the online shake ordering flavors to keep from having customers call to let them know they don't want a regular vanilla shake. I do NOT recommend ordering with the app, then going through drive-thru to pick-up your order -it wasn't pleasant and a very long wait vs. just walking in and grabbing it. About the dine-in experience at the Stephen's location... I just went to D.Q. this week because I had a craving for their chicken strips with hot country gravy and it never disappoints! For $7 I got the 3-pc chicken strips, a small fries, pop, and a mini hot fudge sundae; a great value. They brought it out to our table and everything had been made fresh and hot. The two staff people we came in contact with were both helpful and friendly. One had to refer to the other for how to get my points for my purchase added to my app, but at least I got my answer. Overall, I've been pleased with dining in at this location. The dining room and the bathroom are always clean as well. My one consistent concern is that the staff is all so young, that they should invest in extensive customer service training for those dealing with customers, especially in a small town like Roseburg. I've gotta go with the review rankings and 2 star is 'Could've been better'. This is truly a case of that. The one thing going for them is that there aren't many options that are close by that have what they have to offer. The closest other DQ is about 20 - 25 min away in Sutherlin (unless there is one in Winston - not sure). Service is nothing to write home about. They get the job done I guess, but there is no worthy interactions with the customers. Drive through can take an eternity so once you commit you need to know that you may be here for awhile. I've never had any issues getting what I want - as in the seem to have what I want. As to if it makes it into my order is another thing all together. I guess the second recommendation would be to check your order before proceeding, will save you some time and headache if it's wrong. I have been here several times, so I guess there is that .... but if I had some other options I may go that route. read more

First off let me say that I do understand that getting, and retaining good employees is very difficult right now. However... Who puts a chocolate drizzle on AFTER they put a lid on??? My wife ordered a medium frozen hot chocolate. It was ordered with whipped cream and a lid. So they hand the cup to me through the drive thru window, and the lid is coated with chocolate drizzle, and it is dripping down the cup and all over our car, and us. I ask them to please fix this, and they simply wiped some of the drizzle off and handed me a cup that still had chocolate finger prints all over it, and a few rivulets of chocolate running down the sides. I have been getting less satisfied with the service here since they lost Patrick, but this was a WOW moment, and not a good WOW. read more

They started off on the wrong foot. When we ordered we made it clear that we were on a very tight schedule with an appointment in just a few minutes. The girl assured us, 'yes we can get your food right out' and then it took a lot longer than expected so my wife could not eat before the appointment. I got their BBQ chicken strips in a box. It came with a few french fries and strangely a piece of toasted white bread. The chicken and the fries smelled slightly rancid as if they need to change their oil. brought my family in for lunch. my child urgently needed to use the restroom. the cashier said the code is in the receipt. we hadn't placed our order yet we just walked in. I said we are going to order can she use the restroom until again she said the code is in your receipt. I quietly said she has a medical condition and needs to use the restroom. she came around the counter to take her to the restroom. my 11 year old started to follow her. the cashier yelled out no no you said she had a medical condition for all the guest and employees to hear. she must have assumed I was talking about my toddler. my child was so embarrassed. took the kids to the car and went back in. wry hound shift lead would barely even talk to me and just said it policy. I was BANNED from Roseburg's Dairy Queen because I called the police at the manager's insistence. I purchased a chocolate malt from the drive-thru window and gave the cashier $20. I had driven approximately 10 feet from the window when I realized the cashier had given me $7.10 in change rather than $17.10. I couldn't back-up to the window because another car had pulled into my place in line. I immediately parked and walked to the drive-thru window because all the restaurant doors were locked due to coronavirus. I told the cashier she had shorted me $10 and she said her manager would be right out. Manager Kenny told me it was company policy to not pay me once I had driven away from the drive-thru window. If I wanted my money, I would have to wait 2 hours when they "counted out the till" at the end of the shift. I asked why he couldn't just "count out the till" right now and he said it was against company policy. I told him this was robbery and said I would call the police. He encouraged me to go ahead and call the police. I walked to my truck and phoned the police. While explaining to the police dispatcher that I would like to have an officer contact me, Manager Kenny appeared at my truck window. When I finished my phone call, Manager Kenny told me, "I just counted out the till and it was $10 over." He held out $10 to me and said "are we good." There was no attempt at an apology. I told him we would be good when I got through talking with the police and told them how he had tried to rob me. Manager Kenny then told me I was banned from Dairy Queen for life. read more

They forget an item i ordered. which isn't the biggest deal but when i tried to call 3 times to make up for it they didn't bother to answer. I felt unwelcome the moment I walked in so I placed a mobile order as I sat with my daughters. After 25 minutes of waiting and seeing others served who arrived after me, I asked the lady at the counter if they had received my mobile order. She said they had but it wasn't ready. After 10 more minutes, I went up and asked them if I should keep checking or if they'd bring me my food to which they said they'd bring me my food. I particularly like this Dairy Queen because it has Pepsi products. The one in Sutherlin (just a little north of here) has Coke. But, I'll set that bias aside for this review. The food is generally good, and the service is actually pretty decent. I've had them make a mistake on a burger or two, but it wasn't significant enough for me to call in and have it replaced, so I can't say yet how nice they are about it. When it happens, I'll update my review. As you should with any other place, save your receipts in case you need to do this yourself, because most fast food places will not replace your order without a receipt, thanks to the risk of liars and thieves. So far, the food has always been hot, and the ice cream is always good. It's Dairy Queen, so it's pretty much what you'd expect. read more

Dairy Queen's pretty good; I've always liked their Blizzards! Plus it was a really hot day, so having a Blizzard was perfect. They also walk around to serve food to you, which is cool for a fast food place. I shared a brownie cookie dough Blizzard with a friend, and it was pretty good. I'm not a big fan of cookie dough, and there was a lot of it. I wish there were more brownies! It wasn't overly sweet at first, but the more I ate it, the sweeter it got. Not bad though! read more

It's Dairy Queen, so it's solid fast food. I have two main issues, however, for this particular establishment in the franchise. 1. There has been a steady decline in the amount of ice cream contained in a typical ice cream cone. It's become more cone, than ice cream cone. I wish I had photos to describe the amount of ice cream in a large cone: a dollop. Ice cream is my kryptonite, so I may be able to handle more of it than an average person, but any layperson couldn't describe this as more than a small scoop of ice cream not fit for the size it was technically designated. 2. It's safe to assume I have spent the majority of my life in this drive-thru, not because I go there so frequently, but because of the trudge it's become to get from the speaker to the window. I've gone to this place twice in my life. As stated before, I feel like I've spent the majority of my life in this line. I'm 25. You do the math. But in all seriousness, here are some statistics (because you've got that kind of time while waiting in the drive thru here...). On more than one occasion when I've had no more than two people ahead of me in line, it has taken twenty minutes for me to even get to the window after ordering. Judging by the looks of what was distributed to the customer, it wasn't like the cars ahead of me were ordering for Cox's Army by any stretch of the imagination. If you have a 30 minute lunch and there is already a line backed up from the ordering speaker, you might as well forget it. The long wait in the drive thru has become more and more typical to the point where if there is more than one person in the drive thru, I make an executive decision that ice cream isn't worth the wait. read more

Only reason I go here is if I'm short on time considering I live a block away. The fries are extremely salty and almost always old. The burgers are still frozen when I get them sometimes. The blizzards never have enough "stuff" in them to be worth $3-4 and the service is atrocious. They're employee base needs a good kick in the ass. I've seen them go through more 16 year old kids than a school lunch line. No one there (managers included) know what text f##k they're doing. And they take forever to get you tiny portions of overpriced food. Literally the ONLY decent thing about this DQ...they have crushed ice instead of cubes. read more

This had to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had in Fast food. It took almost a half an hour to get my order. They screwed up the order (No ketchup) 3 times, the 4th burger was hot and had no ketchup, but it was sooo salty it was inedible. The grill cook was terrible, service was slow. others were complaining about the wait. And, to top it off. What i ordered was a $5. buck meal, but they still charged me a full combo price.
