Abby's Legendary Pizza in Sutherlin OR serves breakfast. I learned that a few months ago after living in the area for 11 years. Hubby and I decided to give it a try today. He called to see what was on their menu as he couldn't find it on his phone. The person who answered made it sound like the menu was HUGE. She said just about anything you want, we make it. Including breakfast burritos. Nope, not true. At least, they're not on the menu.... Service: We walked in and waited 30 seconds then were told to sit where we wanted and a server would find us. She did. She brought coffee and water and returned quickly for our orders. And then we didn't see her for a while. A man came in, sat down next to us about 5 minutes later and, apparently, is a regular because she knew his order and he had his food 10 minutes before we did. As a matter of fact, he was just finishing when our food was finally delivered. Food: Hubby ordered chicken fried steak, sourdough toast, and hash browns. He drank coffee that was refilled often. I ordered the Spanish omelet. For some reason I blanked on the fact that it didn't have any meat. My bad. It was STUFFED with veggies (good), very little cheese (not good), and a very small dab of salsa (very not good). I had hash browns and rye toast. He gave his food a 7/10. The chicken fried steak was hot and the hash browns were hot and crispy. I gave my food a 4/10. My hash browns were cool to touch as was the omelet - in addition to the above mentioned problem of lack of cheese and salsa. When the server finally returned to fill his coffee, I asked for more salsa. And waited more than 5 minutes before she looked our way again and I asked AGAIN for salsa as my food continued to get cold. I was drinking water. HE got coffee refills often. Nope, no more water for me. He finally gave me his cup and, as we're getting ready to leave, she brings a water pitcher over and starts to fill my cup. Uh, no thanks. We got a 13" thin crust, red sauce, cheese, roasted garlic, sausage, country bacon, and red pepper pizza. Also a Greek salad and a regular salad which were both fresh with lettuce in good condition. We also tried the Abby's dipping sauce and that was creamy and delicious, too. So, not to date myself, I will say many years ago this was my go to for pizza. With three locations locally (within about 20 min of each other) it was easy to take care of a pizza craving. Fast forward many years later and returning here to let my gf and her boys try the pizza I was familiar with growing up. First, a unique fact about this location, it's the only one that serves breakfast. Having bought this location from another place that served pizza, they happened to have a full breakfast menu. They actually seat you and take your order like at a diner. Very popular with the locals they kept this model in place and continued to serve breakfast. Now on to the important stuff, the pizza! Well almost, we started with 2 large orders of spuds. Yep, fried potatoes or french fries, except slices more like a thick lays potato chip and then fried up. Hoping the quality would still be good, they didn't disappoint! Exactly as remembered! They have some ranch dipping sauce or my personal go to are some of the packets of salsa. Now, finally the pizza. Two large pizzas split in half. One half Abby's Legendary, One half Taco, One half Philly Cheese Steak and one half Linguica. Everything tasted as I remembered. Pizza was cooked to perfection and toppings were abundant. We all left very satisfied (barely able to walk) with the food and the service. It's a small town pizza spot, Covid is still a real issue and everyone is struggling to find help. Yet people still go out of the way to be total jerks. Surprisingly decent place in this little town. I stopped here on my way to Reno from Seattle. Found this restaurant and the good reviews on yelp. It was really clean. They were open until 10 pm on a Sunday. The staff was friendly and didn't care they were about to close. They let us order. We got a pitcher of beer, hawaiian pizza and a full order of honey BBQ wings. While we waited I went to the restroom to wash my hands and the restrooms were super clean. I over heard this people talking to the waitress and she said they have Free coffe everyday. When the food arrived we were so surprised because the pizza was huge!! We had the thin crust one, so it was crispy. It tasted really good!! The wings were OK but they needed some more sauce. Very standard food fare. Worst of all though is many of the staff treated us with what might have been distain. We received no service after ordering the pizza and spuds. (eg the place had six total tables of customers and two waitresses. We tried to get their attention several times when they passed us. When we asked, "could we have plates and water" the response was a sideways yeah but we eventually had to find them for ourselves while the waitress sat and just chatted with the other guests who I assume must have been regulars.) I completely regret having added the 20% tip when I ordered the pizza. Perhaps the problem was we arrived at 11:30 AM and they were still doing their breakfast thing. Visited this place on October 09, 2021 for lunch. A sign indicated the cost of the lunch special. When I proceeded to order the lunch special, was told it was not available. I inquired about this and it was apparent no one had acted on the order, because people began scurrying in the kitchen. On our road trip to Disneyland, we needed a place to grab some dinner. We had originally decided on a local cafe in Sutherlin but it was closed when we arrived so Abby's seemed like the next best option. It's your typical small town pizza joint. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to your table. They have a small game room to keep the kids entertained and nothing really out of the ordinary is going on there. They offer free wifi and they must be one of the only places in town because outside of the restaurant were a group of scary looking people all hanging out by the bench smoking and using their phones. It was actually kind of intimidating. We didn't know if we wanted to get out of our cars or not because of the types of people just hanging around outside. The pizza wasn't anything special and the prices were pretty hefty. We ordered one of our pizzas with extra cheese though and they piled it on. Too much cheese for my taste. One thing that stood out and I liked was that they place the toppings on your pizza all the way out to the edge of the crust. You don't have a giant piece of crust leftover when you're finished with your slice because it's all covered in toppings. Overall, it's not the best pizza place we've been to yet it's not the worst either. If you're traveling through and looking for some pizza, I would suggest giving them a try. I came in and ordered a pizza. While I waited, I wanted to play video poker. I asked for a courtesy cup of Pepsi, like every other video poker place gives. I was told I couldn't have a drink because too many people come in and they pretend to play the games to get a free drink. Ummm first off, I'm waiting on a pizza that I PAID for. Second, it's pretty easy to see if I'm faking playing a game for a free drink, come watch me put money in. Terrible service, way overpriced, and mediocre pizza. My wife and I are new to town, and occasionally we met with 6 other locals at the restaurant for.,, a meeting. If the place was ever crowded, we would need to meet elsewhere. So we go there, and at first we were kind of surprised, that no one in our group ordered pizza. I went up to the counter to order, and... very first thing I notice is bad, really bad service, and this is a place that is doing no business, and you order your pizza at the register, so it is really difficult to FAIL on service. First off- there was a sign for small, medium, and large pizzas and toppings with NO PRICES. I looked for a menu on the counter, and there was nothing there, the clerk asked me what I wanted, and I scanned the counter clearly looking for a menu. Three is a small screen cycling through ads for the restaurant even though I am standing in front of the counter and some special flashes by for like a $7 2 topping medium pizza, which would be a good deal. but the pizzas are the smallest I have ever scene- Abby's medium sized pizza would be a small anywhere else besides maybe Pizza Hut, except for maybe Pizza Hut, but I have no idea what Pizza Hut is like- the only places I refuse to never ever eat at are Pizza Hut, KFC, or Arbby's and if you eat at any of those then I wonder why you would bother reading a Yelp review. So not only is there no menu, and no way to know what else is on the menu or what anything costs, so I ask the clerk if there are any specials, and I get a kinda of a shrugged I dunno even though the small screen on the counter is cycling through pictures of actors wildly overjoyed, and 1 brief spiel listed. After ordering I find that there are maybe like 3 forks, and no other utensils. When we got our cup for the soda fountain we were not given a straw, and luckily there was 1, just 1 straw left in the straw dispenser on the other side of the restaurant. So, no menus at the counter, the utensils were down to only 3 forks, and only 1 straw left, no prices on the menu behind the counter, no menus, no help from the clerk. We did find some menus on the trash cans on the way out, but after paying over $10 for a "medium" pizza, which would have been a small in a real restaurant, we did not give a damn to find out what the prices were or to find out whatever else, After seeing no menus, no utensils (besides forks). and getting the last straw literally I was really worried about the food because if the front of the restaurant is that neglected, it is a fair bet, that the food prep area is at least just as bad, so I worried about how safe it was to eat there. The restaurant is terrible, and the place is dead on week nights because most people know not to eat there. Sutherlin is weird because Abby's is packed on the weekend mornings for breakfast. Apparently, there are no breakfast restaurants in Sutherlin. By the way- DO NOT BOTHER APOLOGISING. The place is consistently terrible. The staff and management are so lazy I will not risk my health eating there. I canot imagine anyone working there wasing there hands. And the prices are way to high for undersized pizzas. So DO NOT BOTHER APOLOGISING because nothing will change. What we experienced is the norm for how the place is run. Unfortunately, we will still have to go there for the meetings, but the rest assured the place will always be quiet enough for everyone to discuss business with noone nearby to overhear or plotting and scheming. read more
