Really loved the attentive servers. Greeted us immediately and able to be seated. An abundance hands out some homemade tortillas and there's an option to have tableside freshly made guacamole. You also get chips and salsa which has a nice kick to it. The sides made me pretty full and I ended up getting 2 tacos - I really liked the pastor and hope to try more in the future. DO NOT pass up the opportunity to eat here. This food is authentic. The service is top notch. The ambiance, is like you're visiting family. Our server told my daughter when she tried to order two nacho plates (one for her, one for my mom,) that it is a HUGE plate and she should see how big it is. And she said if it comes and they think they should order another then she would get us a second ASAP. Well they took one look and said WOW!!! She was RIGHT! What restaurant (family owned at that!!) tells a customer NOT to order more? A place that knows their value, their food and has excellent customer service. Honestly this was better than the last 4-5 star restaurants that I've been to. We were fully attended to, drinks kept full chips and salsa kept full. My son is picky. And when I say he is picky, I mean INCREDIBLY picky. He asked if instead of a tofu burrito could he have Tofu tacos with just tofu and cilantro. Lol so the server said OF COURSE. And I asked him a month later if he remembered that and he said YES!!! Can I have that for dinner?? Lol Oh wait did I even tell y'all yet that the chips were WARM?!?! I was traveling with three buddies on a golf trip. None of my companions had been here before and they were dubious about the place due to the small size. It is very small place inside, so the atmosphere is tight. However, the food makes up for it. We sat down and ordered drinks. Right next to us a woman was making fresh warm tortillas. She kept us supplied throughout our meal--a nice extra. The food was excellent and the staff were wonderfully nice. We all left saying we'd stop by every time we were in Roseburg. read more

We won't be back... plenty of other palaces to try. Spent $42 for lunch to go and they got the order wrong. Rice isn't expensive, beans aren't expensive, tortillas aren't expensive, onions aren't expensive. So when we got home was a wrong order (Which I caught at the restaurant) when I saw the receipt before signing and the front guy called back to correct and wasn't. I know Mexican food... I know and love Tex/Mex but if you can't get the order right and the food given is blah then there is no need to go back. read more

Overall the food and drinks were good, our primary issue related to the service and how we felt in the restaurant. We ended up getting guacamole that we never asked for and were then charged for 2 orders of guacamole, (although this was later taken off the bill when we addressed it). We also had a situation of a drink being spilled on my sister which was met with laughter and no attempts to fix the issue. Further, one of us was handed an extremely hot plate and was then laughed at and mocked for expressing that it was hot (he encouraged her to cool her hands on her margarita). All in all, as a group of young women, we felt somewhat dismissed and unwanted and ended up cutting our margarita night short to avoid further issues. read more

I had lunch yesterday. Ordered a $20 burrito, forgot the name. The description said huge burrito. When I got it, it was more like a nice size enchilada. It was delicious, especially the white sauce, but it wasn't even a big burrito. Definitely not worth $20. And I ordered jalapenos inside, and there were no jalapenos inside. Burrito Vaquero, Roseburg, OR - October 3, 2024 We came in for lunch around 1:30 pm on a Thursday. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating has nice padded benches and the motif is very Mexican and festive. Everything was colorful and inviting. We were promptly seated by a very friendly waitress and given menus, chips and salsa, and waters. The chips and salsa were tasty! As we were looking over the menu, a very kind and warm hearted Mexican woman by the name of Maria brought us some fresh corn tortillas that she had just made on the griddle next to our table. I thanked her in Spanish and she asked if I spoke Spanish. I said un poco and she engaged me in a little Spanish dialogue complementing me on my hair and asking where I was from. I was able to comprehend and respond and she was very gracious in her reply back. We ordered a chicken enchilada with rice and beans and a shredded beef taco in fried shell with a cheese enchilada and rice and bean. Everything was delicious! Maria even brought us some more fresh flour tortillas off the griddle. Lovely experience and we'll definitely return next time we're in the area! read more

This place was so great!! When we walked in we were reminded of the atmosphere from places in Mexico!!! The Cadillac margaritas were perfect! While outside, the bathrooms are very clean. Stopped by this establishment since I saw it had great reviews. Great place to eat. Inside is so nicely decorated. Loved that they had table side guacamole made but beware, there is an $11.50 Charge which was worth it. The place is a bit overcrowded with tables and chairs so it's not the grated for plus sized people. Service was good. I've wanted to try Burrito Vaquero since I moved in. It has won the best Mexican food in Douglas County which is amazing for such a small place that I thought was just a drive-thru. I wanted something fast since I was shopping and standing in line to return items so I pulled into the drive-thru and ordered one al pastor soft taco. It was $3.50 which I thought was a good price for a double corn tortilla filled with really delicious and saucy al pastor marinated chunks of pork. We ate here 11 years ago during our snowbird trip from Washington State, loved it then and loved it just as much today. Tootsie roll with shrimp was amazing as was the chili rellenos and tortilla soup. Guacamole was freshly prepared and was awesome. Service wonderful and attentive. This is a nice little place for Mexican food. I thought the food was tasty and the service was good. I ordered a small plate with chili relleno, rice and beans. This goes for only $9.95, and I thought it was more than enough for a hearty meal. They also served me a complementary basket of chips as well as flour tortillas. I typically request whole pinto beans instead of refried beans, and they were more than glad to oblige my request for that, as well. On a warm summers evening we sat outside with our dog that was traveling with us. They appear to be extremely busy all the time but service was quick and friendly. Hands down some of the best Mexican food we have had in recent history. Driving South and decided to stop for lunch. I'm a firm believer the salsa never lies. It was very chunky and the flavor was just off. I got a carnitas taco and all but one bite was solid fat. They brought me some extra meat, which was decent in flavor. The beans and rice were ok. Nothing was horrible, just pretty underwhelming. My husband had a wet carnitas burrito and enjoyed his choice much more. It's a very small building but well staffed. I got the California burrito which was delicious and they let me change the carne asada to guacamole. Another person on my group got a kids burrito for 6 dollars. They gave us free tortillas and with those we were able to make a burrito and rice/beans into a burrito and 3 tacos for only 6 dollars. Also very nice staff.
