If you intend to take only one thing from here, that should be blizzard. I went for the Rocky Road royal blizzard, and it was amazing. Ice cream with brownies and salted peanut mixed into it. It comes with a marshmallow core, but I replaced it with fudge core. And I would say it may have been better this way. Today when I looked at the menu, I am not seeing Rocky road royal blizzard. So it may be something special to this diary queen or they withdrew it. Either way ask for it, you may get it. It is worth asking for. For food, flamethrower burger was spicy. I liked it. We just left @830 on 10/18/24 Service was eh, not very busy. Took our order for 6 blizzards. Kid came out with them on a tray. Pulled everyone off & walked away. Guess if they flip the cup & they dont you get a free one. This didnt happen.(Flip or free one) Out of 6 that we ordered 4 should have a core...none did. 2 weren't even blended past the 1/4 top of the cup. Huge group of kids came in right at that time...so we finished our blizzards & left. Might want to train the staff a bit more on reading what is on the screen & proper blending technique. Im unsure how many times we have ordered ice cream there but its a lot ALMOST EVERY time its wrong. I dont know how its so hard to make ice cream correctly. Its a print out that states exactly what the customer wants. Pay attention and do your job. This is starting to get extremely annoying. Wildly overpriced. The soft-serve is quite good, but when I can buy an entire carton of real ice cream for less than half the cost of a DQ cup, it just doesn't make sense. The burgers are fine. 2nd time in 2 weeks we've gone for ice cream and when we got to the window, our order was sitting on the counter and the ice cream was all melted. The kid working the window was just standing there texting on his phone or joking around with other people. We actually had to tell him our order was right on the counter. Waited 20 minutes for some mini blizzards. We were second in line before a line built up, so it wasn't because it was busy. The first car was sitting there for 20 minutes before they even came for them to pay. Then our order wasn't even ready when we got there and had to wait longer and they were all just standing there and weren't even doing anything. We love this location for a fast lunch on the go. Hard to beat a 6 buck lunch that has a cheeseburger or chicken strips, fries, a drink and a sundae! It also is part of the deal that having a toddler means sometimes needing food ASAP, and we prefer DQ to some other fast-food options. If you need a cool dairy treat get a blizzard (ice cream with mix-ins like cookies, candy, you know, healthy stuff!), or a peanut buster parfait (vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and peanuts layered in a cup). read more

I'm a fan! This is one of the better DQs in the area. I absolutely love the burgers! They taste very fresh. The fries are super good and hot. You can't go wrong with the blizzard, they are amazing. What I love best is that they regularly do fundraisers for South Windsor schools and I really appreciate they do. read more

I wrote this review as I sot in the restaurant, I normally go to the one in Manchester. But decided to give this one a try as it's closer. I go up and place my order, come to find out the normal things I get are more expensive in this location. I got my food in a relatively quick manner. The beef was room temperature at best, cheese un-melted. Asked the staff if they could heat it up a bit. After taking my food to the back it was brought back up to me. The staff member left it with me and said, "we can't heat this up for you" and took his leave. For my first visit I am rather disappointed to say the least. read more

Amazing customer service- staff is very upbeat and friendly...try the ice cream (especially the blizzards) they are seriously the best around... and the best tasting compared to other Dairy Queens I have tried. My family and I's favorite when we go are the Chicken Strips basket, cheeseburger, french fries, cheese curds, snack melts and Flame Thrower GrillBurger. Their food is absolutely delicious!!! To the complainers out there if they are busy and make a mistake on our order they are very happy to fix it... I've been to this store a thousand times and can honestly say they are very caring people who work here who truly care about making customers happy. Place is horrid. They have screwed up so many orders I felt compelled to write a review. The staff is disorganized, lazy and generally careless. Three separate occasions in last five visits have resulted in incorrect orders, excessive wait time and poor customer service. After ordering food and waiting 20 min I was reminded place was closing soon. Order came out and was not correct. Due to excessive wait time I didn't bother to have order fixed. The only reason I did not give this location 1 star is because it is pretty difficult to screw up a Blizzard (whch they've done at this location on multiple occasions). From the management down (especially the middle aged man/"Manager" who looks like he's out of breath by the time he walks from the Blizzard machines to the cash registers), the service is horrible. If I hear one more time from one of their workers when they mess up an order, or overcharge me for something that "they're having a bad day", I'm walking out, and taking my business elsewhere. read more

I ordered a blizzard cake last Saturday for my husband's birthday on Tuesday. When I arrived Tuesday I was informed that they had not made the cake and had no record of the order. Although the staff was sympathetic, they basically shrugged their shoulders and went "sorry, oh well". I had to quickly pick another cake, not in the flavor my husband wanted while holding a struggling two year old. I've ordered cakes for years from the Manchester location and never had a single problem. I'll be ordering my cakes from the Manchester location from now on even though it's further from my house. 4/2/17- just downgraded them from two stars to one. Worst managed DQ ever. Mistakes I can understand. The complete lack of management giving a crap when mistakes are made (over and over and over). Food was great. The cashier was nice the manager with a military style haircut was on top of this game getting orders out and answering the phone. Will defiently come back to this place. The cooks did a good job my food was hot and fresh not soggy like some DQs. This place was CLEAN which is a big plus for me. I brought my kids there recently, we placed our order correctly they just did not execute the order correctly, (one topping added to the wrong item). My son, being polite, said it was not a problem for him that he received this extra topping he did not order, but my other child still wanted her topping, so, you would think they would simply add the correct topping to the appropriate order, nope! They said since my son had started eating his order, they wanted an extra .50 cents to add the topping to the correct item. I'm not at all cheap, however, WE HAD ALREADY PAID FOR ALL TOPPINGS AND THIS WAS DQ's MISTAKE! This experience was just the excuse I needed to never patron this establishment again! read more

"If it is not served upside down, it's free!" Is that a joke? The blizzard I got last week was melted , not flipped upside down AND charged double! Plus cleaning up the ice cream from the melted blizzard from the cashier at the drive through was a really great highlight of my Sunday! (Kidding). If someone advertises that it would be free if not served upside down, then they are crooks because it was not free. I'm pretty sure if that was flipped over it would have been on the ground. Went tonite w/grandkids 4 & 6 to play mini-golf - gate open but no service person. Husband went into DQ and they wouldn't even tell him why it wasn't manned. He thought that you paid inside DQ & then golfed. Boy was he wrong - and boy were they RUDE!!! Will never recommend this place that leaves little kids crying. Terrible from customer service to food. They rarely get simple orders right and are unapologetic when you tell them the order is wrong. Been here at least a dozen times since they opened. At first I thought they were new and working through the kinks but it never got better. Stopped going. Been to other DQ locations that have been great.
