Okay, so I'm a new guy in town and still in the process of checking things out. It was a cooler day here today, only 92 degrees at 4pm, overcast, yet I was wanting something cool to eat. I had not yet been to the Toppenish Dairy Queen. I stopped in and ordered a banana split to eat inside and it was apparent early on that their air conditioning is not working. I know Dairy Queen has burgers and such, but I'm a mere 63 years old and my entire life have been under the impression that Dairy Queen is founded on their ice cream treats and it's a place for people to cool off. So wouldn't you think a Dairy Queen, especially in Central Washington during the SUMMER, would have air conditioning? The banana split was good, the service was just okay, but for the lack of air conditioning in an ice cream joint in Central Washington in the middle of summer? ..... I can only give two stars. MAJOR COMPLAINTS: 1. No sign of any of the 5 or 6 dollar lunch deals on their menu. Likely they don't have it. 2. The last month blizzard of the month is still the blizzard they carry. 3. They charge 42 cents for sauce. MOST Dairy queens I've been to never done this. 4. Only like 5 pieces of mushroom in mushroom swiss burger. Food tastes just like any other Dairy Queen but maybe because Toppenish is a small town I gotta say its policies and setup is more subpar than other locations I've been to. Pretty good compared to other fast food places in the area. Clean dining room and clean restroom, burgers are nicely assembled not just thown together. Stuff is extremely friendly. Some tables have outlets so you can recharge your electronics of needed, which us a nice touch. read more

Super slow, melted ice cream and didn't explain what I was getting. Went on a Wednesday around 4:30pm. Two cars in front of us and it truly took 15 minutes waiting in line to get to the window. Then another 5 minutes for our order. We ordered a swirl cone, mint blizzard and I tried to order a mud pie blizzard. Some Dairy Queens will make it, others say it's no longer available. This store said "no longer available, but we have a mud slide." I said, ok I'll try it thinking it was a blizzard, as this is what I originally asked for. All ice cream came out very melted and my "mud slide" was a type of sundae with walnuts. I wish they would have explained that it wasn't a blizzard. The only reason we went to this toppenish dairy queen was because of a gift card. The employees there have, on repeated accounts, taken over 20 min to get just two ice cream orders and have been rude. For goodness sake, take the job for what it is; a learning opportunity. While this restaurant has all of your normal Dairy Queen favorites such as burgers, fries, and soft serve desserts. They also have one special treat to enjoy during the Lenten season. There is a special off the menu item that you can order. If you ask for the double fish! You will be amazed by two fish patties surrounded by cheese and tartar sauce. She talked over me as I was ordering, and then was annoyed that she got the order wrong when she didn't listen to me. The food is awesome and most of the staff is friendly, but they are total airheads. Constantly on their phones, they don't want to put in any extra effort if humanly possible, they routinely leave things off of your order, and they close WAY too early. Want a blizzard past 9pm? Not a chance. Plus the drive through is SLOW and once you get up to the window, if you don't blow out your tire on the curb that sticks out ridiculously far from the window, you'll see the girls inside chatting endlessly and ignoring the window while leaning against something. Oh and another tip, their blizzards are inconsistent. One minute they are thick and packed with the goods and the next they are just straight up runny ice cream, that's it. Very rude told me to pull forward to keep ordering because "there was a long line" when there was only 1 once car behind me!, and still repeated my order wasting the one car behind me's time. All I can say about this place is that they need to get rid of the staff they have now, and put outgoing, friendly staff. From what I experienced yesterday walking into Dairy Queen there was 4-5 females just standing around taking about there pregnancy, there personal life's. You have one standing with her back to the food warmer area playing with her hair. I also experienced bad customer services, disrespectfulness, very rude, and very very unprofessionalism with all staff there yesterday. I had went here previously and taken a coupon with me and was told upon paying that they dont accept the coupon for the special, and I asked "why not" and no one could answer, so called the owner ( I was told by a person or two to not bother calling her, she does not care and will not help) and thought, "I will judge for myself" but found out it was true she was not very helpful sounded like she did not want to talk to me and had a rather, "well, what do you want me to say" attitude and I was a bit taken aback as they push the "small town establishment" persona and have been here a while, then a couple days ago I went in to get my husband (who is partially disabled) his very favorite vanilla ice cream and ordered that and a few more items and then waited in line......, then get up to pay.... and hand them a DAIRY QUEEN gift card he had received for Fathers day.... and was told "nope, we dont take gift cards" and I was like "seriously??? it is a DAIRY QUEEN card and they refused, said they werent "set up" to take them, BUT I could drive to Grandview and use it??? (I live in Toppenish and ice cream wont make it back......) and said "well never mind" and drove off and left my order, no sorry, no can we help you with something else, so tell me Toppenish Dairy Queen, why should we return and give you our money??? Horrible service!! I WILL NEVER GO AGAIN. I pull up to drive thru, just to repeat my order 3 times. Speaking in a clear voice with the server "Adrian" taking 2 minute breaks to respond to me. As I get to the window, new server "Amanda" tells me to REPEAT MY WHOLE ORDER.
