This is the closest Dairy Queen aka DQ to me and have been here numerous times over the years. Every time has been through the drive-thru for blizzards. Previously at other DQ locations I have had their meals and they are better than you'd expect from a mainly ice cream focused fast food spot. This spot does not take much of a drive-thru line for it to go into the street, so be warned. Typically even with a busy line it does seem to go quickly. The staff we have interacted with have always been friendly and the blizzards have been good with minimal complaints. Occasionally they've been poorly mixed or had minimal add-ins. Obviously you can get far superior ice cream options but sometimes I have that craving for a blizzard and come here. Most should honestly know what to expect with a DQ and this location nails that expectation decently well! read more

I have been visiting this location for almost 10 years and rarely had any issues, the ice creams, smoothies, shakes, soft serve or the ice cream cake is always amazing, great quality and very fresh,vrhe prices are a bit high but the quality and taste is definitely great, they also have a free soft serve day . Food was good, order was correct, but that's where everything positive stops. The workers needed to be reminded by customers that there were missing items, needed spoons, or covers. What I can assume was an employee, walked into the store with a snake, then brought it behind the counter into the kitchen. This Westbrook DQ is consistently disappointing. I have been a DQ customer for over 40 years. As a ME native I have enjoyed DQ in many cities... Bangor, Biddeford, Windham, Westbrook, Bath, Rockland, Topsham, Kennebunk, and many more. Seriously... I love DQ! Been addicted to Blizzards since their inception in 1985 when I was 13! Not to mention the Peanut Buster Parfait!! OMG. It brings me no pleasure to say that the Westbrook DQ consistently underperforms. Their Blizzards are always short on mix-ins and poorly mixed at that, their food is always hit or miss, and their Buster Bars are an EMBARRASSMENT! Seriously, Westbrook DQ owners?! The workers are very rude everytime I have gone here. They will straight up ignore you and give you dirty looks. I didn't let it bother me the first time because I thought they might just be stressed out but everytime I have gone they are rude. After eating their food me and my friend both threw up for days after she even had to go to the hospital. It's pretty disappointing that a company that assures their food is safe to eat could make someone this sick. Do better. read more

Been here a few times and blizzards are consistently skimpy on the mix ins-very disappointing. The cup is not even full of ice cream. The price today was $1.50 more than the price listed online for a mini blizzard. When I asked if it was charged for a mini size, the young man at the drive thru said "yep prices keep going up just like everywhere." $4.74 for a MINI blizzard seems ridiculous. Got here a few min before lobby closed with lots of people in lobby. Ran to the door to lean inside before unbuckling my kids age 2 and 4. "Hey you guys still open?" Got a yup. Went back and got the kids out. 6:04 we walk in, and I get sir these people are the last to be served we closed. If you guys want to close to lobby lock the doors... I have two heart broken kids wondering what they did wrong to not be served. Crushing. Local spot for sure. Before the renovations, the decor took you on a trip you didn't sign up for. Meaning, the ice cream was fresh, but the restaurant hadn't been redone in too long. Clearly they recognized this and changed a few things. The inside now has kept up with the times and has more of the experience they should be going for. To me, Dairy Queen is Dairy Queen. It's a little over priced, the drive-thru always screws up my order (I get the same thing every time I come here- cookie jar blizzard with chocolate ice cream), I have to park the car and return the ice cream to get what I actually ordered and paid for. I've never had a problem with any of the staff. They're always very understanding and helpful. I've also never had anyone be rude. For whatever reason, something is always screwed up in my order when I come here, but they don't hesitate to fix it. This particular DQ (one of the only ones I believe) has a full menu. They have pretty good burgers as far as fast food goes. You have to wait a little bit longer for them, but I think they're pretty decent. It's not my favorite ice cream spot, but if it's convenient I'll stop. read more

This DQ just went through a rehab and it looks clean with a nice new outdoor patio. Unlike others in the area this is a full Dairy Queen restaurant with burgers and dogs. This Westbrook location is popular with locals and has been here a long time. The food is ok, and I find the price a little high for fast food. Best deals are prob the chili cheese dog or kids stuff. It's a pretty standard Dairy Queen. Nothing outstanding or horrible about it. The inside has been clean whenever I've visited and the service is usually pretty quick. If you take your dog through the drive through they will sometimes offer treats - so far it's been 50/50 for me, I'm guessing it depends on who is working the window and if they like dogs. read more

We arrived at 9:10 tonight, it took staff ten minutes to take our order for five people. Towards the end of our last person ordering, management started loudly and deliberately speaking about how they need to start closing or they'll be running late. Before the final person was even able to complete their order, staff was telling us they were closing soon and if we needed to order anything else (the irony considering they hadn't finished our orders yet, after ten minutes). Five minutes later the manager was more loudly saying they needed to close and someone needed to start cleaning the dining room. Then, they started shutting the lights off around us while loudly saying they needed to close. It was 9:28. Absolutely appalling, considering we spent no less than $50 between the group of us for ice cream. Next time we'll go elsewhere. Oh, and it's 9:36 and the same manager and staff are smoking outside after rushing us out the doors. Priorities I suppose. read more

Quick wonderful service, the best onion rings I've had in a long time, but the burger was a disappointment that just kept coming. It was nearly too hot to touch or unwrap. Most of the cheese was on the wrapper. When I could, I took a bite. The sides of the patties were a sort of dull grey color. The middle of each was a shocking fuchsia. The burger had the flavors of factory, filler, and water. I do not know how this was prepared, but it seems like there were grill marks applied to the patties when they were manufactured, and on site they were held in a water bath, not quite warm enough to cook them. Rude comments made to my children while trying to order in drive thru. Went inside and the manager went off on me and my family when I asked to speak with manager or owner. She reported that she was the manager and if I called to speak to the owner she would call the cops on me. I was not loud, did not curse nor was I disrespectful. I have been to Dairy Queen on and off throughout the years. We moved recently and there are more Dairy Queens around our new area so we would be going to DQ often. We ordered 2 medium hot fudge sundaes with whip cream & nuts. They sundaes were 3.49 each, however the bill was over $9. To our surprise, they told us that they charge extra for whip cream&nuts. I've always been pleased with what I order, however I went to the Westbrook location last week and my blizzard was practically void of any toppings, basically just ice cream no candy, I had about 5 bites and threw out the rest. Love the ice cream cakes! I went in to pick up an ice cream cake for a birthday party today. I asked the girl at the counter if she or someone could write Happy Birthday on the plain white cake. She said she hadn't written in cursive since 3rd grade and didn't remember how to. There were at least three other employees working but she said none of them knew how to write cursive either. She said sometimes they go all day without anyone being able to write on the cakes. We left with a blank cake but it makes you question all aspects of the business when you have such ignorance at the front counter. If I was the owner, I would't hire anyone who couldn't write Happy Birthday on a $25.00 cake!
