Went Friday evening, waited in a line at the drive-thru. It wasn't open but no one put up a sign saying CLOSED. So we eventually went in to eat inside. There were 2 people eating but no one to seat us. We waited quite a while. So we eventually went to the ice cream window. They said they weren't serving food? but we were able to get ice cream after they corrected the orders from multiple carloads of families who also waited in the closed drive-thru line, and then came in. ANNNND We both got immediate diarrhea from their Fribbles. No joke. Barely made it home. Calling BOH next. Sadly, the last Friendly's in existence needs to be put down. It's failing on every front. Hailey was an amazing server, it took longer than expected to be seated. My husband almost wanted to leave, but my son's love of ice cream had us stay. We enjoyed our turkey melts and captain platter. The desserts were on point and when our kid realized how small his was in comparison we added a few more scoops to the take out. My crew stopped in for dinner. I got clam chowder and chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Ambiance is diner/Dennys like with nice booths but the AC was turned up too much. We stopped at this Friendly's for lunch with our granddaughters today. Our girl's had two kids' meals: the sliders and the friendly Frank both with fries. They each had a JR Fribble. My husband had the bacon cheese burger and I had the patty melt, we too had fries. Our meals were delicious. We each had a small sundae for dessert and they were delicious also. I can't say I really enjoyed my food that much, but my kids did, and I think that's the point. My son, the kid who barely eats anything, was willing to get the mini mozzarella sticks, and got them again the next time we went. My daughter liked them too, as well as her hot fudge sundae. We were celebrating her birthday and this was a really nice treat. Meanwhile, the first time we went, my partner and I got sick after eating, and while we didn't get sick the second time, my "nashville hot" chicken sandwich really wasn't "nashville hot" tasting, and the waitress kept forgetting things. Unbelievably horrible service. We ordered though DoorDash, spent around $50 dollars on two meals, waited over an hour and a half for it to be delivered, received the wrong order. Didn't even have any food, only a shake wand ice cream we didn't order, with a different name on the receipt. The receipt said the milkshake was supposed to be a root beer float, but it was a half empty milk shake with cookies in it. So whoever ordered this would have been making a complaint as well. When we contacted DoorDash for our order to be re-sent, Friendly's told them the restaurant was closed. Even though It was only around 9pm and their google page says they close at 10pm. And judging from other reviews, looks like the employees close whenever they want. When I called to speak to a manager and see if our food we paid for would be re delivered correctly, no one answered. Just let it ring. Friendly's is always a nice experience. Quite a variety of menu items from burgers and dogs to shrimp baskets, clam strips, etc. with a constantly changing menu. Always nice to check out the new items and specials if you can't decide what to have. Of course you have to get the classic Fribble. Brain freeze if you drink it too fast, but well worth it. They no longer offer malted, which used to be my favorite. More ice cream varieties and sundaes than you could eat in a lifetime. The restaurant was pretty empty. Our Waitress was terrible. Asked for water she filled the cup up with 3/4 ice (12 ounces of ice, 4 ounces of actual water ). Had to request 4 waters to get a full glass. Requested coffee, got half a cup. Didn't give us any napkins. Didn't bus the table the entire time we were there so the table was full of empty glasses, plates, empty creamers, sugar packets. I normally tip 25-30% for service. Very awkward when waitress is the one who rings you up at register so not able to give the low tip they deserve without causing a scene because I know she would have squawked. I wanted to leave 1¢ but decided that 15% wouldn't make her freak out. Tips are NOT a requirement only a bonus for a job well done. She deserved nothing!!!
