Okay so to start, I am only taking a star off because of location. It is definitely in one of the more run down and rather filthy sides of town.. Interesting crowd all around this area and plenty of homeless people. However, even with all of this, it does have some nicer shops like Starbucks right across from it. So maybe it balances out. We saw a review that mentioned going during daylight because of this, and I will definitely say that I am glad we did. I would not want to be there after dark. We even made sure to leave by dusk. Now, with that out of the way..! The store was actually clean, well lit, and the staff was very friendly and sweet. We both got blizzards which were mixed perfectly, definitely a lot of the filler treats, they were not skimpy at all! Every bite has loads of delicious treats mixed in. I got the fudge brownie and cookie dough, and he got the banana split blizzard. Both soooo ono! We thought the cost was low, which is awesome. I would definitely come here again. 3 in 1 stop here. This DQ is combined with Orange Julius, and has food items. (Burgers & hotdogs) I have stopped at this location a few times, and every time its been the same. Okay blizzards, okay Orange Julius', okay interior cleanliness, okay freezer items (ice cream bar boxes), and okay customer service. I have never tried the food here, so my review is solely on the ice cream products and Orange Julius'. DQ is a fast food for ice cream. So if you want gourmet, mouth watering, unique flavors, this is not the place. This is a place for a quick cup of ice cream that is blended up with sweet goodies (Blizzard), a fruit ice smoothie (Orange Julius), a sundae, or an ice cream cake and box of ice creams to go. With that in mind, this is an okay place to try. The location is close to the trolley tracks, and is in a mini shopping area. This place area is swarming with shoppers going to Food 4 Less, and cars with Baja Mexico plates. Depends when and what time you go, parking can be a zoo. The service here has always been good. I walk in, I order, pay, wait for them to make my blizzard, and leave. Nothing good or bad, just average. This location does have a variety of items, however they do not have many Blizzard options or mixing items. (candy, chocolate, cookies, brownies, syrup, sprinkles, etc.) The DQ at the shopping centers have more options. This location only has the basics, so if it isn't one of their top blizzards or the blizzard of the month, they don't have it. I ordered the peanut butter cookie dough smash this last time I was here, and it was good. The ice cream used had to of been cookie dough, because there were a lot of cookie dough pieces. It maybe had 3 pieces of peanut butter cookie, and that's it. Had there of been more peanut butter pieces, it would have been a top blizzard for me. I just came here with my boyfriend and his cousin. This review is for the older Hispanic woman with half of her pointer finger missing or index finger, not sure but she's missing a finger. Also, for the Asian woman who was coming in and out of the back icing cakes. First off, we're still on a lockdown and in a pandemic, and all stores like these that want to remain open, needs to take pre caution into wearing gloves and a mask and practice social distancing. NONE OF THESE EMPLOYEES WORE GLOVES OR A MASK. The Hispanic woman helped 2 other customers before us, as she handled cash and did not wash her hands or wear gloves, she then proceeded to cut a banana made for my boyfriends cousin order. People began to come into the store, and after the 3rd time of coming out from the back, the Asian woman noticed how many people were actually in the store and she finally put a mask on but still failed to wear gloves as she would return the iced cakes to the fridge in the front. I didn't ask for a refund because businesses like these still need money during these hard times of our current pandemic. We ended up tossing all of our drinks of fear with any leftover bacteria or germs due to covid19. Sadly we will not be returning. I went in today with my son for Free Cone day and was excited to be able to donate to the Children's Miracle Network. I noticed the line was long and people walking out with their cones. I was shocked to see that they had a sign saying they are not participating in the free cone day due to machinery issues. This is wrong and a lie because the machines were working fine, as you can see how good my cone looks, by the way, it was very yummy. That is not my point though. My point is that all these people showed up to support the Children's Miracle Network yet the owner of this DQ decided to say his machinery had issues to profit 100% of today's sales. I'm not anyone to wish bad on anyone and I hope that for one day of good earnings that were intended to be for donations, that this business doesn't do poorly for the rest of the year. read more

I walked in 20 mins before closing time and the young guy closing was not welcoming or friendly at all . He was mopping at the time and said they were closing soon . I honestly don't know why my mom came back to this location, but she did and naturally-- it was messed up. She got a classic style ice cream cake for my birthday. It should have had the vanilla, fudge, crumble, then chocolate ice cream at the bottom. They literally put all vanilla, and a tiny strip of chocolate. NO FUDGE OR CRUMBLE!! That's like the best part of the cake. They skimped on the whipped cream decoration around the cake. The last experience was bad enough for me to never go back, and this literally didn't surprise me. This is a poorly run and poorly managed establishment. The employees are not welcoming nor appreciative of their clientele which I had already experienced in the past so yesterday's first day of spring free ice cream day was no surprise to how they operate their business. My daughter's friend had posted that "DQ plays games" on her Snapchat which is why she was eating ice cream from Baskin Robbins. At the door, they posted a sign notifying their customers that they weren't participating in the free ice cream day and attributed it to faulty machinery... the same machinery they were still selling bought ice cream with that people were walking out of the store with? For the recent promotion (first day of summer - free cone) you had to have an app which wasn't mentioned in the promotion. While I was in the store people were downloading the app and some were getting the coupon, others were not, and some were getting an expired coupon. They refused to give a free cone without the code, which is understandable for accounting purposes but bad promotion/advertising on their part. There are times when I go to Dairy Queen for something insanely sweet. I normally get a mini Chocolate Extreme Blizzard with cheesecake bites. I've gone here several times before, and they've always gotten the order right. During my most recent visit, my brother, who is a chef, asked the employee to mix up a couple flavors into a blizzard, and she replied with "that sounds gross". Ummm...what?!?!? First off, nobody asked for your opinion; we asked for you to make it, which is possible. We were willing to pay the extra charge. Secondly, that was rude. After she hands us our treats, we realize that she mixed up our orders, and put the cheesecake bites in my brother's blizzard; not mine. I go back there to let her know, and she says "i'll put the cheesecake bites for you in a separate cup, so I don't have to mix it in". WTF?!?! I didn't have time to argue with her, so I stormed out with my cup of cheesecake bites in one hand and my blizzard in the other. I was out running errands during that time, so it's not like I was able to mix it together myself. It's surprisingly hard to eat ice cream in two different cups while you're driving and while it's melting. All of that put together made it a pretty bad experience for me. I can go for another Blizzard any day, but I wouldn't go to this one. I'd gladly go to a different location, so I don't have to deal with a lazy/rude employee again. Came in this evening with a few people and ordered a couple of the monster cookie blizzards a couple of Sunday's. The products were good, but the service left something to be desired. The girl working was the only one that seemed polite and enthusiastic to be working for the company. The other two guys seemed to be just doing enough to get through the night. I've had the worst experience and it makes me so sad to do this but I have to share. We ordered a birthday cake from this location and paid more money for a birthday design. They asked for me to text them photos so she can confirm that her manager could do the design. She confirmed to my face and through text that it would look close to what I want. The day of the party comes so I go to pick up my childrens birthday cake. Basically we asked for a unicorn on one side and a fortnite llama on the other end. The photos i sent were cakes desgns from other dairy queen locations. The first two photos show the designs we wanted. They didnt need to be exact but somewhat similar. The 3rd picture will show you the cake I received. You can also see the text message where they confirm it'll look almost the same. The manager Claire knew I was so upset. She had no remorse and offered me a $3 refund. This cake was almost $50 and she had the nerve to offer $3 dollars! She took my cell phone to the back so she could try to fix the cake and add in some colors similar to the photos I sent them. 5 minutes later she comes out wuth yellow, green and orange outlings. What was the purpose of even taking my phone to the back? She did nothing but point fingers and make excuses for her employees mistakes. She said the decorater called out sick. Then she said the person who took down the order wasnt clear. I feel as a manager she should have taken responsibility and provided me with a refund or even partial. My kids cake had a sheep and a horrible unicorn. Luckily a family member was able to fix it . The last photo shows what my nephew fixed. He's not even a cake decorator! Tonight I went in at 8:41 October 12 2016 There was one lady working and another cleaning the restroom when his coworker called him out to help. The young kid comes out take my order, handles my money then goes straight to pouring ice cream (no biggie since he's not scooping w his hands). So as I'm waiting for my ice cream the lady is making the man ahead of me blizzard right before she turns to hand it over the guy co workers elbow goes right into the top. After seeing commercials on TV for their food I eventually went here to try their fast food but to no avail they only serve desserts and cold drinks. I was really hoping they start selling some of the regular food items though because it would give another option to eat besides BK, MCD, and JIB. The Del Taco nearby closed down last year and now is a Starbucks and their food menu is too limited. I went to this DQ about 40 minutes ago. There was a couple in front of me and and a family of four behind me. We were all standing in line waiting to be attended to promptly or acknowlesged. Umfortunately neither happened. I had to speak up and said: "anytime your ready to work we are here." The young lady was speaking in mexican with co-worker by the microwave instead of acknowledging her cuatomers. DQ is a quick ask and go estanlishment where the majority of their foods, ice cream, and some of their juices are pre-maid. There is very minimal cooking involved except heating some items in the microwave. That being said you would expect exceptional customer service. In this instance the customer service was a complete failure. I was so disgusted with the customer service and the non-chalaunt attitude of the young lady that; I left the line and went across the parking lot to Food For Less in their make shift deli area and picked up an egg sandwich on wheat, freshly baked seasoned potato wedges, and Aquafina bottled water for $5.85. Which is about $1.25 less that I was going to spend at DQ. By-the-way, I can take any fourth grade student....train them within an hour and guarantee that student would do a better job than the young lady behind the counter at DQ today. Thanks to DQ's poor customer I saved a little bit of money. Their overall rating for customer service is a complete and utter failure. There is no 0 rating so they get 1 star. read more
