For those times I need a childhood sundae fix I'll go here. Soft serve vanilla, hot fudge, wet walnuts-my go to.

As busy as they were, the owner took the time to do a "custom" Blizzard for Mrs.

We were searching for a place to eat yesterday online. When I came across the committed pig. I…read morefigured why not give this place a shot. The menu looked quite interesting and what caught my attention was one of their burgers. They baked brie burger with bacon and fig preserve. Upon entering the establishment, we found it quite pleasant. The food was absolutely amazing. We all looked at each other and said we will definitely be back. The menu looked amazing as well with selections for breakfast with lemon ricotta, pancakes, and stuffed French toast which we will definitely have to give a try. The staff was on point and a tentative I give this establishment a 10 out of 10.

Although it wasn't very busy, service upstairs was fairly slow, and several nearby tables also seemed to be waiting a while for food or checks. For drinks, we ordered the Boardwalk Lemonade, which was sweet and refreshing, and their version of an Aperol Spritz, which had a beautiful presentation. My dad's Baked Brie Burger was delicious--the fig jam paired perfectly with it, and the waffle fries were fried to perfection. I ordered the Mr. Beautiful Burger, which tasted great at first. Unfortunately, I felt VERY sick almost immediately after eating. I can't say for certain what caused it, but since my dad didn't try my burger and felt fine after his meal, I suspect mine may not have been cooked properly. Despite that, I enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience. I'd definitely give this place another chance, though I'll skip the Mr. Beautiful Burger next time.

The Kitchen started up the Wednesday twofer thing again. Prices are way up from last year, as they…read moreare everywhere from Bideniflation. So for 32 bucks you each get an entree with soup or salad and desert. Still a fair price. The salad was standard, the tomato bisque was amazing. What makes a bisque a bisque? "A traditional French chef would define a bisque as being a thick, creamy soup made with shellfish and thickened by a paste made from their shells. Cooking shells? I had no idea! Julia Child was one chef to popularize lobster bisque in the United States; her recipe uses both the shells of the lobster and rice to thicken the bisque. Today's definition of bisque has expanded to include vegetable bisques, like tomato and butternut squash. The word is more related to the smooth texture of the dish and the use of cream. Most modern bisques are thickened using rice. Some cook the rice in the broth and strain it out later, using only the left-behind rice starch to thicken the soup. Others puree the rice into the soup to thicken it. Almost all bisques are finished with hot cream for a velvety texture." A little info from your uncle Steve. I got the lasagna, very good. My wife got the drunken burrata, which is a chicken cutlet in a vodka sauce over penne toped with mozarella and burrata cheese. It was outstanding. I had to look up burrata cheese. Burrata, meaning "buttery" in Italian, is a fresh cheese made from a mix of mozzarella and cream. The thin shell of the cheese is a pasta filata curd made of buffalo and/or cow's milk mozzarella, while the insides contain a soft, doughy, stringy mixture of curd and fresh cream. When you cut open a Burrata, it oozes with buttery and creamy panna containing scraps of mozzarella. The cream has a rich flavor and must be eaten immediately. So, I'm on the hunt for burrata now. The cutlet itself was thin, crispy and perfect. Almost tasted like veal. I've followed dozens of chicken parm type recipes but could never get my cutlets like this. The penne could have been more al dente. The deserts we chose ,chocalate pudding and red vellvet cake were ok. Friendly staff.

As luck would have it, I scored a reservation at Buoys on a busy Saturday night in Manasquan…read more Thanks to an Instagram post, I became intrigued and started stalking the reservations. Persistence paid off. Right off the bat, I loved the atmosphere. We sat outside at picnic tables, and the whole place had a seashore surfer chic vibe. Basically, it felt like a cool little beach hut. They don't take themselves too seriously, but the food was absolutely delicious and refreshing. One thing that makes Buoys unique is that there is one seating each evening with a fixed menu. Everyone is there for the same experience, enjoying the exact same meal together. I really loved that. We were given buckets of ice for our wine, and we were off to the races. The meal was a good mixture of shared dishes and individual entrées, which really fit the atmosphere. They don't alter the food for anyone's preferences. We had a food allergy in our group, so I reached out ahead of time. They were accommodating for the most part and very nice about it. I give Buoys five stars because, while it doesn't take itself too seriously, it takes the food pretty seriously. The whole place is just cool. I've never had a tasting menu that included chicken wings. Tuna "Chorizo," barro, pineapple, herb salad Imagine a tuna tartare with a chorizo vibe. It was stunning and delicious. Everyone at the table loved it. I know pineapple isn't everyone's favorite, but it was the perfect way to balance the smoky chorizo flavors. It was innovative and really memorable. Chicken Wings Jimmy Nardello peppers, savory ranch, 'nduja Getting a plate of chicken wings on a tasting menu was such a surprise. They were covered in this incredible pepper sauce, and oh my God, they were so good. They were perfect for the whole beach, post-surfing, laid-back vibe. That's all I can say. If you're lucky enough to get an extra chicken wing, you're scoring. Orecchiette Fra Diavolo, squid, scungilli, garlic crumb Served family style, this was probably my least favorite dish of the night, but it was still good. The garlic crumb on top made the dish. I found myself trying to get bites with the crumb because it added so much flavor. . Bucette ( Bavette ) Polenta - Miso onions I googled it- Bavette (pronounced bah-VET) is a flavorful cut of beef from the lower sirloin/flank area. It's sometimes called flap steak) Polenta, miso onions, chimichurri By the time the beef came along, I was pretty full. The bavette, similar to hanger steak, was cooked perfectly, charred on the outside and red on the inside. I loved it. I ended up taking it home and enjoyed it the next day. The chimichurri sauce was delicious. Salmon Lentil gremolata, parsnip purée Sadly, no one at our table ordered the salmon, so I can't report on it. Cronut Banana pudding, peanut butter, chocolate mousse Who doesn't love a cronut? Well, this one put all the others to shame. Banana pudding, peanut butter, chocolate mousse. Yum, yum, yum. Again, I've never had a tasting menu that fit its atmosphere so well. Everyone was having a terrific time. Because there is only one seating and one menu, everyone in the restaurant was enjoying the exact same meal together. It created a really fun energy in the room. I peeked into the kitchen, and it couldn't have been much bigger than a food truck. They were working like a well-oiled machine, sending out the same beautifully prepared courses to the entire restaurant. It was pretty impressive to watch. I can't wait to go back. I think I'd better start stalking reservations now for late August or September.

The food was spectacular. Family style with options for everyone. BYOB and our waiter was sweet…read more This place is pricey, but the food is worth it!
