It was a late Tuesday evening in which my girlfriend sent me out to search for food. Everything in the area was closed. I suggested to my gf that I pick up White Castle for dinner. She was hesitant, but accepted. I arrived at the glorious castle. When I arrived, I was greeted by an empty dining area. Slightly apprehensive, I proceeded. I found an employee with his back turned to the cash register reciting and practicing meals/orders, and order etiquette. It wasn't until 30 seconds had passed that a colleague of his told him that I was at the register. He turned around and apologized stating that this was his first day. Never have I seen such dedication in memorizing meals numbers and orders. I told the employee that there was no need to apologize. After about 3 minutes I received our meal and my hungry girlfriend was no longer hangry. White Castle is always a classic fast food place to go to. I wanted to go before I left Jersey, so my friend and I decided to get a few burgers for lunch. When we came in, the worker seemed a little annoyed and we continuously had to repeat our orders to him. Then we received our food and we both got three burgers each. Mine were so salty that it made the burgers unpleasant to eat. I was extremely sad about this. The time before this one too, I ordered cheeseburgers and the staff member rang in cheeseburgers, but I was given normal burgers. For a White Castle this one was pretty good. We ordered online and our order popped up in a minute. The staff smiled which was amazing and they had everything ready in a jiffy. The lobby was fairly clean and people were sitting in and enjoying their food. Our burgers were fresh and the fish was even better. My first ever fast food vegan slider. That's all I ever wanted in life is this real white castle experience and I got it for breakfast. The impossible sliders with no cheese hit the spot good.... only had two... which was a good amount but 4 is the perfect number. The closest White Castle to me in Los Angeles, California is in Las Vegas (5 hour drive) and it's not even a real white castle... it's inside a mini food court inside a casino on the strip maybe it's gotten better since the last time I went... not even inside a real hotel casino resort... so that's why this was a 4 star experience for me. Nah. As far as I'm concerned, I've given this place as many chances as a person could and more. The only time I really enjoyed them was back in 85', when they were new and a couple of friends helped me and my youngest uncle sneak out of my grandparent's house and between us we were able to scrape up enough dough for about 5 sliders each and had a blast. I've never been able to enjoy them since, esp. as an adult. I'm happy the place has the loyal following it does, but a 4 sq. in. patty, an eighth of an inch thick, with about 5 holes in it does nothing four me. Chicken sandwiches aren't anything to rave about either. They look good, but have no seasoning to the chicken. Only things I've enjoyed were the chicken/onion rings, tater tots, mozz. sticks and I really actually love the clam strips. The veggie burger is the worst thing on the planet. It looks just like carpet padding and I would imagine has just about the same taste!! read more

Actually, I guess I could mention that some White Castles are in less affluent neighborhoods and have a glass screen between the customers and the employees... this is not one of them. I ordered on a Saturday night and didn't experience any problems. Right now they're having a promotion for 10 sliders for $6, so we got two of them. I had 10 sliders with cheese, and my girlfriend had 10 without. No complaints: the sliders were amazing, as always. I haven't had White Castle since college, and it was great. This place is disgusting. It doesn't look like either the restaurant or their restrooms have been cleaned this century. That's not to say anything about the burgers that the buns were so soggy they were disintegrating. The fries were cold as they were sitting around. The biggest joke was the mozzarella sticks. They were burned to a crisp. My family of four had each had one bite and we decided to ask if we could have a replacement. We didn't want to be disgusting so we didn't put the sticks back in that were bitten. When we got our order they only gave us 6 mozzarella sticks. I've never been to a restaurant where the replacement order wasn't the same plate you ordered. Do yourself a favor and go eat literally anywhere else including out of a dumpster. I'd never been to a White Castle before I visited New Jersey. Everyone I know that has been to one raves about the little burgers. So, with curiosity, I visited the White Castle in Eatontown. I must say, the cheeseburgers were tasty. I would not say they are even close to the best burgers I have ever had - but for what they were - they were an interesting and yummy experience. The fries, onion rings, and chicken rings were crispy and delicious! I went there a couple more times while I was in the area. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Apart from the one gentleman who I see there mornings to lunch during the week and typically at the drive thru, today's experience (Saturday) proved to me the crew without him is slow and easily confused should there be more than two cars waiting (which is nothing), you really should check your order before driving away. Nothing is more frustrating in the White Castle world than ordering 5 cheeseburgers and a small fry and really getting 5 regular burgers minus that costly cheese and a small fry. Very annoying and disheartening to know that this simple order got botched. Here is a recommendation...instead of re-iterating the amount due, try and repeat the order and actually look to see if someone stupidly screwed up. Very skittish crew. Maybe I am a bit too critical but I was next after a two small bag order that took like 8 minutes for some strange reason. Not happy. read more

I think they have a pretty extensive menu with decent variety considering its a burger/fast food spot.. nice variety of beverages and their milkshakes bring all the boys n gals to their yard (they are YUMMO)! They try new not necessarily wacky or uncommon foods (such as fish nibblers, shrimp (when they had it and it was good), clam strips (not bad at all), chicken rings in buffalo, ranch, and plain.. now they have pizza burgers and a nice variety of chicken sandwiches. Love their onions rings.. just simple and satisfying. Plus, you get a complimentary colon cleanse with just about every meal! You used to have to wait about 20 minutes for your meal in drive thru whether someone was ahead of you or not.. but that was about 20 years ago...much much better now.. I notice staff turnover seems high and you may have to repeat your order and speak slowly to ensure accuracy but the staff are usually super friendly (except for this one guy.. never know wat mood he's in).. I rarely go in anymore... Will usually drive thru.. but the occasions I've gone in, it's clean and comfy.. White Castles will always be a fave (although cleanliness and quality of service will vary from location to location, naturally)! read more

Was down in Jersey for work and of course got there super late at night. So my options for dinner were pretty much McD's or this. I gladly chose WC even though I hadn't been to one in many years. The service was a bit slow, but since I was the only customer and it was 2AM I'm not sure I can actually complain about that. I was just excited to get some food and get to my hotel so I could get some sleep before having to work in the morning. The burgers are of course sliders and I do like the way they do the grilled onions. They even have a selection of speciality burgers now. I enjoyed the spicy one which had jalapeños or something like that on it. The fries are decent and I even liked the milkshake product although I doubt it had any real milk or ice cream in it. So if you want gourmet dining go elsewhere. If you want to get some fast food that is a step above the usual suspects make this your destination. read more

Was in Jersey for an event, and couldnt wait to try this place to see what all the hype was about. The sliders are melt in your mouth amazing, the onion rings are very much different than what I've had elsewhere, and the fries are pretty mediocre. The service was what gave this place the 4th star. The lady working the window was extremely empathetic for the wait given that it was nearly 11p and we had to wait almost 15 minutes in the drive-thru, but she was just a genuinely nice lady. Could almost relate it to that Southern hospitality. All in all, the food was good, and the service was great. What more could you ask for? Sorry east coast guys, but In N Out still takes the win for best fast food burger joint. This comes in a close second. read more

This was close to build a new white castle and it look great. They still need to work on the speed. It was a long line and food didn't come out fast enough. But food is great and have new drinks then the other white castle. The decoration in the lobby is nice and outside is great.
