With a lot of ancient reviews, I thought I'd stop in R&B, formerly Edgar's, and update you Yelpers. The place looks different since I was here last so I'm assuming that the present decor is about 3 to 4 years old. Nicely done. We sat in the Sun room. Prices are commensurate with the venue. Lori, who has been employed here just 3days, did ok. See pix of what was consumed. Food decent. When the weather is decent during the summer they have bands in the parking lot, that part is cash only. 3stars??? Nothing jumps out, except the decor.

Great spot. Loved the casual vibe & the roof top. It rained so once it dried up a little we went upstairs & enjoyed the DJ and drinks. The bartenders were nice & response! Loved it.

    Fish & Chips - delicious

This place was a cute little sports bar type restaurant in Sea Girt. The staff were friendly, but our server didn't show up much. However, this was some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. I rarely order fish, because I do not like a lot of breading, but this was cooked perfectly and delicious. I would recommend.

    Dead fly in salad

I went for dinner with a group of 6. The service was a bit slow for dinner service. I ordered a salad for my entree and I went to mix in my salad dressing and as I was mixing a saw a dead fly in my salad. I was extremely repulsed by this as it was clearly in the romaine mix to begin with. I informed the waitress and she apologized and gave me a free drink token. She brought me another salad and did my take this off of the bill which I found to be I absurd that I was being charged for a salad that has a dead bug in it to begin with. I was no longer hungry after seeing the dead fly so I did not eat my salad. I will not be eating at Reef & Barrel in the future after this experience.

This is my first time here, and I will say, it has potential. We arrived early and it was a little bit dead. Now, it's closer to 7 o'clock and it's filling up. On Wednesday nights the band is setting up. The burgers were very good the lobster mac & cheese very good. Overall the portion sizes are a little small size but I enjoyed it. Good service, nice friendly waitress- attentive, good advice.

    Burnt cheese.

I am absolutely so sad about this! Been bringing a whole group here every year for cheesy pizza goodness. Like ninja turtle, pull the piece apart and the cheese strings out a mile long, pizza. We were served burnt, crispy pizza this last time around, and we waited forever for it. If we weren't so hungry we would have probably realized we should have sent it back sooner than all of us grabbed slices and started nibbling. You could literally break the pizza in half with a cracking sound while all the pieces of crust crumbled to the tray. The place looks beautiful, but I'm not sure what's going on with the food now that it's not Edgars. I hope this was just a fluke, but it was truly disappointing. I hope to be back to write a better review at some point.

The signature drinks were awesome (I had the banana-rama an interesting take on an old fashion). Our waiter Pete was attentive, informative and professional while not rushing us or being intrusive. The food was very good. We shared the Olea Board for our party of 4 and it was a perfect amount and variety of food! The churros for dessert were excellent and should not be missed. The only negative was that we waited more than 30 minutes from our reservation time to be seated. While the manager was apologetic, they couldn't do much to get us seated sooner. He did tell us that our first round of drinks would be on the house. When we let Pete know when he brought the check, he adjusted it immediately. We will definitely be back!

When it was sold and opened as Olea, my friend and I waited until yesterday, Saturday, to try it. First, we were impressed with the outside entrance-way. Nicely decorated! The inside lobby area was okay; just very busy and a bit noisy with the bar but we had reservations for 5:30 on a weekend summer evening, so that's actually a good sign. We were seated right away in what they call the lounge. Don't let that fool you. It's made for a more intimate dining experience with tables for two or four. (The main dining room is more noisy, large, and great for parties of five or more.) The waiter (Sean?) was very attentive but not overly so, and that was great. In fact, it seemed that all the servers were attentive and made each individual table feel welcome. The menu is varied and the prices are actually reasonable for the quality. A wonderful crusty bread with a shaved cheese topping, olives, and a light olive oil was at our table right away. Which brings me to what we ordered. I had the prime filet which was buttery tender and cooked perfectly, my friend had the wagyu skirt steak which was also very good and had a lot of flavor. We shared the crispy potatoes, which was more than enough for both of us. Order those--they were delicious! We had the tiramisu which was a bit different from what we were used to, but it was still good and very filling, even though we shared. We each had a glass of wine with our meal, and coffee with dessert, and that all came out at appropriate times. As I said, the servers are very attentive and the kitchen has the food timed perfectly, which is hard to do on a busy weekend night in the summer. Edited to add: this is an upscale dining experience so business casual. We are definitely returning to Olea soon!

We had Randi as our server and as first time visitors to this Sea Girt location, she helped us get acquainted with the menu and the restaurant as a whole. We were scouting it out for the following day to watch the Knicks Finals game. The restaurant is loaded with screens! They have larger screens on the wall and smaller ones all next to each other above the bar. And they pipe in the game sound once the game starts! So all boxes were checked off for us. We also had a delicious lunch. I had the Apple Salad with grilled chicken. It was fresh as could be, huge and so delicious. One of the best salads I have had in a long time. My husband was just as happy with his Caesar Salad and hamburger patty. He raved about the hamburger meat and we both ate every morsel of our meal. A great location as we just had left the beach and were starving! Randi's service was top notch and she is super nice and friendly. Matt, the Manager also stopped by to check on us and make sure everything was OK, which was great to see. Part Two: Monday The next day, we watched game 3 of the NBA Finals at Tommy's. Now we're already starting to become regulars! We had Julian as our server. Another great Tommy's employee! Turns out he went to high school with our son! Small world. It was our first time watching a game at the restaurant. We had a huge booth and plenty of room. It was drink special night on Monday, so we got 1/2 price specialty cocktails, which was nice. We ordered bar food this time - - wings, brussel sprouts, Caesar salad and margarita pizza, all of which were very good. Very impressed with the wings, that are baked and come with onions and peppers on top. Julian kept our glasses and bellies filled and, even though the Knicks lost, we had an amazing time at Tommy's for the game. Thank you Randi, Julian & Matt for a great week at Tommy's. We will be back soon.

Plenty of spots in the parking lot and easy to pay for 2 hours on the app - signs don't say what time the "meters" go off, but with 2 restaurants sharing the lot, we figured you probably have to pay until at least 8 pm, and we were early (5:30 ish). Got seated quickly, in a booth near a wide opening out to the beautiful patio on the water. Rather warm in the restaurant and there were overhead fans that weren't rotating, but it wasn't uncomfortable. We'd have had to wait a bit for an outdoor table, and anyway it was a hot humid day and night so indoors suited us just fine. One friend had the lobster bisque, served with a good chunk of a bread that looked tasty (she's not a bread lover but she enjoyed it so it must have been delicious) and she really liked the soup. Then she added another appetizer, spicy garlic shrimp. Generous portion of 6 shrimp. My other friend had the crabcake & shrimp plate, which came with a side salad that our waitress was savvy enough to bring first when our other friend was enjoying her soup. Some crumbled feta on the side salads, a nice touch. When she ordered, my friend asked if the crabcake had a lot of breading and our server assured her that it doesn't; that turned out to be accurate! I also got that side salad with the Ahi tuna bowl I ordered. This was a bowl of dry, bland white rice (might have been jasmine rice but not strong flavor). On one side atop the rice was a good portion of seaweed salad, which I love. Piled sort-of artistically on the other side of the rice mound were several small slices (6? 7?) of perfectly "black and blue" tuna crusted with both black and white sesame seeds. The fish and salad were delicious but not terribly filling. I ate most of the rice. I noticed that there was a marinade at the bottom and began to mix the rice with the marinade that was tasty. They do add 2.5% for credit cards, but that's fair enough these days. Entrées are on the pricey side, I thought ($39. for the crab/shrimp dish, 32 for my tuna, 12 for the lobster bisque), but there aren't any bargains dining out these days. We had no complaints, other than my somewhat dry rice. I'd like to give it 3 1/2 stars but will err on the generous side. We'll probably return next year on our beach day!

We ordered the Margherita pizza. It was just okay, not bad but also just not delicious. Sauce was a little bland, like it was missing garlic or seasoning. The mussels were good however we had asked if they could be prepared without the chilies. We were told yes by our server (who was a dear really, she was great I don't really blame her for anything) that they could leave out the chilies. Well we ordered them and there was definitely chilies! My friend could not eat them at all. I like spicy and even my eyes were watering. I just question getting bread rolls served with the mussels when the usual service is sliced toasted bread. So, as I said, I think just temper your expectations. This place does have the beautiful view going for it.
