We came in twice during our 5 day stay in Manasquan. The first time was just for a quick beer while we waited for our friend's train to arrive. The beer was ice cold and the service was great. We decided to return for food two days later I ordered the Classic cheeseburger with tater tots which was delicious. Service again was friendly and very attentive. I highly recommend this local joint.

Stopped in here yesterday for burgers with my boyfriend. It has a nice bar atmosphere. The burgers were great and come with your choice of fries or onion rings. The steak fries and sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy and not oily. We both opted for the California Burgers which were juicy and seasoned well. The service was great too. I would definitely dine here again.

When I travel I love to be introduced to the places the locals hang out. They usually are hidden gems that only the people you visit in that town know about. I also love local restaurant bars with live bands that are talented and have a great repertoire of all the old Classic Rock music. Better yet how about a bar right on the Jersey Shore in the small town of Manasquan. If you love to find these places look no further. Great local clientele that loves music and have a great time. Great food consisting of Big Juicy Burgers and Sliders, Fish and Chips, Chicken Wings and Fries and Reuben Sandwiches. Now I did not eat here because we came here after dinner, but after some drinks and seeing a man eating the best looking Burger I think I've ever seen and juicy too, the temptation almost got to me. They say The Irish Rail has the best burgers in the area. So next time!!! I was drinking white wine and having a ball singing up front by the band. What a treat this place was. People just enjoying the music drinks and food in a Northern small town Jersey Shore Bar. Great servers were part of the crowd!!! For me, it can't get much better. Coming back for the band AND the burger!!!

Three of us stopped in for lunch today and were very happy we did. We were greeted by our bartender/waiter Mark. He was very nice and efficient. Husband started off with burger sliders as an appetizer. They weren't your now standard little patty on a tiny Hawaiian roll. These were big! And delicious. There was a great open face ruben sandwich, steak sandwich cooked to your preference and chicken parm sandwich loaded with chicken. They all came with nice crisp steak fries. The place is at the train station is very small but has a decent size bar and about 10 tables. Prices were reasonable for size and quality of food and the nice cold beers. Looking forward to another visit.

Getting a feel for this place in the late afternoon. Not too busy, young crowd, 70-90's music blasting. There's 5 TV's and 2 dart boards. There's not too many tables and the bar area seats 12-13. This was formally the Manasquan Rail Road station. I found out there's NO happy hour. Not to my liking. The barkeep was friendly and knew how to pour a Guinness Stout. Since I did not eat at this establishment, I cannot rate it on its food. I rated it on its atmosphere, ambiance and the physical layout. Might return and eat here in the fall.

They tend to cluster at the end of the bar waiting for someone to walk in to leer at. After you find a seat they continue to stare, as if trying to figure out if you're a college kid, new local or cop. The bar itself is small and set up in such a way that you are forced to sit with you're back to these "regulars". This only adds to the general discomfort of the place. Nothing much to do but get wasted, so, I did just that. The night started to get interesting around 11 when some females actually entered. To my relief the regulars then set there attention on them. More and more people arrived. They all appeared to be from Sarah Lawrence College. The guys looked like girls and the girls like guys. The regulars appeared oblivious to the fact that these females wanted nothing to do with them. Watching a guy with a thick Irish accent buy drinks for an obvious lesbian who couldn't understand a word he said made the visit worth my while. The place turned into an absolute freak show. Irish construction workers and trans-gender college kids dancing the night away. I left around 1 with the bizarro party in full swing. Other remarks: The bartender was an irish guy named Joe. He seemed okay at first but, was very nosey. He continued prying for personal info, and I just didn't trust him for some reason. Then again he may have been happy to see a new face, however, I would have preferred to be left alone.

It is Irish owned and features an assortment of creepy Irish regulars that like to hit on unsuspecting Sarah Lawrence girls (my favorite pick up line is when some guy told my lesbian friend "But, I have a vagina"). This can get overwhelming on a night when there aren't a lot of students around. For a student, it can be a place to get congenially soused, talk, and play darts or pool with their friends on a packed Thursday night or they can feel like they are surrounded by random acquaintances they know in various ways that don't always mix, standing around and hardly able to make small talk because of the loud music. In other words, I find it extremely awkward unless I'm drunk and then ambiance no longer matters. Other remarks: Joe the bartender is well known and I am unsure whether he is a nice barroom psychologist or a manipulative bastard. The bar has begun to ID so there are mostly upperclassmen. The drink of choice is the Bailey's Irish Car Bomb.
