I ordered my classic pineapple sundae at once only. It's great service. And I saw the parking lot like ambiance.

You closed the store 12 minutes early tonight, that's one star service. I've seen how much business you get last minute; not tonight!

My original thought was to get some bubble tea after fetching lunch. I drove over here. There is lots of parking in this plaza full of box stores and eateries. I have not been in this area in years, but old memories started flooding in. QQ Frozen Yogurt now occupies the spot where Menchie's used to be. I loved the latter because it had sorbet for those who are lactose-intolerant or vegan, or both. While I was waiting for my Gong Cha order, I perused the QQ Frozen Yogurt side. It offers 7" small whole cheesecakes and cakes, and cheesecake slices from The Cheesecake Factory. They were all in a fridge next to the frozen yogurt cups and waffles cones. You basically grab what you'd like and hit the frozen yogurt machines. There were several frozen yogurt flavours to choose from. I saw blue raspberry tart froyo, Nutella froyo, and more. Most of the frozen yogurt flavours have dairy. Like Menchie's, QQ offers two dairy-free options. I was pleased to see dairy-free mango and strawberry froyo varieties. Both Gong Cha and QQ have public washrooms in the middle of the store. The single washroom that was wheelchair-accessible was available. The other one that seemed to be for everyone was out of service. The entire store was extremely clean. I was expecting a mess in the toppings area where you can go crazy decorating your froyo to your heart's desire, but it was in pristine condition. I was so full stuffing myself with a veal sandwich that I couldn't fit dessert in. I will definitely head back and get some froyo when I'm not urning for a nap. (166)

I ordered a small salad, and was upset with its size. Although it cost exactly half the amount of the regular size, its portion size was less than half. It didn't even fill up the space given by the bowl! Taste wise, the arugula salad was decent, though they did go quite heavily with the parmesan. My friend ordered the vegan spiced coffee and salted caramel gelato. We loved the salted caramel, but the coffee one was a tad strong (true to its name!). There are definitely a variety of different gelato options to choose from, so go to town! The service there is okay, but my waitress was an absolute gem. She had a sweet smile and, upon knowing of my gluten sensitivity, kept rushing over to tell me possible options I could eat, and checking up on me to make sure everything was okay!

Last Saturday, while heading to California Sandwiches, I passed by this Gong Cha. I made a note of…read moreit, as I wanted bubble tea after a late lunch. I drove over here after stuffing myself silly with a massive veal sandwich. This Gong Cha shares the same space with QQ Frozen Yogurt. The space used to be where Menchie's was. This bubble tea place is located in a huge plaza, a few doors down from Dollar Tree and across from Michaels. I had no problem finding a spot to park. I then walked into the store. There was one woman placing a bubble tea order when I got there. It allowed me to take my time figuring out what I wanted. I had downloaded the Gong Cha app. This visit would be my first time using it for points. You do need to scan your barcode to collect points first before ordering. The nice woman at the counter explained the whole process to me, which I appreciated. I ordered the following items: - QQ peach green tea - Strawberry passion fruit earl grey tea with kanten jelly Both were large in size, with no sugar and less ice. I paid with a debit card. I tapped and my transaction was done. Easy! It didn't take long for my order to be ready. It allowed me to review the menu and take photos. I recommend bringing a bag if you are ordering multiple drinks and are doing takeout. I had two, so I carried both in each hand and headed to my car. You can sit down and sip your tea. There are a few tables and chairs by Gong Cha. I think that if they are all taken, you could go over to the QQ Frozen Yogurt side and sit down there. There are washrooms. There are two single stalls that are gender-neutral. One of them is built for accessibility. I thanked both women behind the counter last Saturday. I then left with my drinks. I placed one of them in a bag and had the other as I drove northbound. I probably order the QQ peach green tea more than any other drink off Gong Cha's menu. I love the mixture of tapioca and coconut jelly. If you can't decide what toppings you'd like, let this drink decide for you. The peach flavour is perfectly balanced with the green tea. It's a yummy drink. You can't go wrong with it. I did something different and ordered the drink with the longest name on the menu. The strawberry passion fruit earl grey tea with kanten jelly has complex flavour layers. If you love strawberry and passion fruit together, you'd love this one. They compliment each other nicely flavour-wise. I wasn't sure how the earl grey would turn out. Earl grey can be a dominating flavour. It didn't scream, "I'm the star of this bubble tea. Drink me!" It was surprisingly more toned down than I had expected. Kanten jelly is cool. It doesn't really have any taste to it, but it's enjoyable. It's translucent and firmer than I had anticipated. It was a nice contrast to simply drinking bubble tea. This Gong Cha makes bubble waffles. You're out of luck if you're looking for croffles. I have only seen croffles at the Gong Chat in Whitchurch-Stouffville. I had an excellent, positive experience here. Staff were friendly and sweet, and I thoroughly enjoyed my drinks. (176)

It's perfect for large groups and picky eaters because there's bound to be a flavour for everyone. The bubble teas offered ranges from a variety of usual black, green and fruit teas. They also have interesting seasonal items - currently they are promoting their strawberry series. The matcha smoothie pictured is a perfect refresher for a hot summer day. I recommend getting 30%/50% sugar for a healthy option - it's still a tasty boba but you don't have to feel guilty about drinking it!
