We pulled up to order ice cream and someone was ahead of us, we proceeded to wait and wait then finally got up to order and the girl on the intercom said she would be with us in a minute. Again we wait and wait, finally I said something she come on and said it would be another 5 to 8 minutes. Needless to say I said never mind we aren't waiting any longer. We couldn't back up someone was behind us I pulled forward and that big order they had taken was parked in the way. Now most places would have asked their customer to please move forward and we can bring it out to them but nooooooo Again we wait by this time I was a little pissed off. My dining trio headed here after a great dinner nearby. That's my husband, mother and I. This DQ is in a gas station where Rudasill Rd. meets Oracle Rd., so don't miss it! Easy parking on the side. We've gone a few times (for Gary and my mom). I exercise a little restraint and just grab an extra spoon and taste Gary's (so he orders extra because he knows he's in for a dessert reduction in the form of sharing with his wife)! The help there is usually younger gals, although we've had all ages serve us. Nice people and fast service. And let's not forget to mention the goods themselves--pretty darn tasty! Special mention: this last time, my mother ordered the turtle brownie blizzard, which she had just had a few days earlier, too. (OK, she got the mini size so she wan't that naughty!) However, I could see she was disturbed as there were no detectable pecan nuts and less of the goodies in this blizzard. We simply mentioned it and the counter help was all over it to make it right, pronto. They said they were training a new person. My mom was like a happy kid again, savoring her blizzard! I went in for lunch on Monday and there was a miscommunication so my order did not make it to the back. I sat there for about 15 minutes wondering if I should leave. Was in this area after a swim meet in Oro Valley. As an after meet treat we (my daughter and 2 swim moms and their swimmers) just pulled into this Dairy Queen. It was darker inside and chairs were up. I walked into the store and no employees anywhere. I looked around the counter into the back of the store and saw two employees standing back there on their phones. I said, "Hi, are you guys opened?" The female employee said, "What's up?" I said, "Are you guys opened?" She looked at me and said, "Psst, yeah!" The male employee mumbled something and I said, "What?" He said, "You got a problem?You came in here with an attitude, all hot and heavy!" I said, "What? Psst...you must be kidding!" The female followed me outside and started to video me. She came out like she wanted to fight or something. I decided to leave rather than continue with a confrontation, although one was certainly warranted. I set my alarm for 6 am the next morning so I could call the customer service dept in Minnesota. I explained what had happened and I needed to hear from a manager ASAP. 10 days went by and I heard nothing. I called again and was told that they were escalating the complaint. It's been at least another 10 days and nothing. Apparently, the owner/manager is uninterested in addressing this issue. I will continue to call until it's addressed. This is not like I didn't get sprinkles on my sundae. This was a verbal assault against a customer! Please don't respond to this apologizing or asking me to contact someone else. I have done this and my info is in your system. YOU reach out to ME! I expect a response to this serious matter. This is outrageous behavior on the part of your staff and they should no longer be employed there. read more

This is the cleanest, friendliest and greatest Dairy Queen in Tucson. They have friendly employees and they make your order quickly. They also do a lot in the community. I have stopped in several times and they are having a fundraiser to support a school or sports team. read more

One of the best Dairy Queens in Tucson. It may be hard to find since it shares a storefront with a gas station but the drive thru is excellent, i.e. fast and super friendly. The dining room inside is very nice compared with the Ina Rd location that has only one counter and 5 bar stools. There are a few "fun" machines for the kids and lots of nostalgic photos for us seniors to go down memory lane. read more

I'm sorry, but this place needs new management. I used to give it a chance, as my first order was good, and the second, they forgot my sauce and Texas toast. I'd really like to come here more often, but you never know what you're gonna get. If there is a line in the drive through, I'm like "forget it". It'll be a good 20 minutes. On Saturday February 4th at 2pm, I stopped by dairy gueen at 5960 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, for a quick late lunch. The car in front of me had no ideal what they wanted so that took forever. Then I got to place my order, which was a four piece chicken basket with fries and a medium vanilla milk shake, simple right? Then the car in front of me finally got his order and pulled off. I drove right up to the window with credit card in hand and the girl open the window and said that is $10.38, and I handed her my card and said to her, if you don't change out your gloves between guest, then there is no reason to wear gloves. I was not mad or being rude, just made an observation about the worker wearing blue gloves. Then after about a minute the window flew open and this rude girl starting telling me for my information she changed gloves between the car in front of me so her gloves were clean. I could have started a screaming match but did not, I just said please go away girl and she yelled you are not going to get your food, that you can just go somewhere else and slammed the window shut and locked it!! I turned my car off and said to a closed window, you give me back my money and I will be happy to goi somewhere else. Finally, I was handed a receipt and five dollars and some change. So today, Monday I called my card company to stop payment on the charge, and was told they reversed the charges??? So why did they give me five dollars and some change in cash, why not the receipt showing the reversal! I could elaborate on this but you make up you're on mind. I checked google and it show the owner is Alvaro & Martina Leon, if you contacts me, I will give you the overpayment. I also notice that the google rating is only 2&1/2 stars and I now know why. Just waited in the drive thru for 15 minutes even tho I was the only car there, just to get handed an ice cream cone that looked like a toddler made it, they tried to wrap a napkin around it to make it look decent but ended up just making it worse but still proceeded to hand it to me anyway , I had to throw it out when I drove away. Customer service is complete trash, girl and guy working looked miserable and didn't once say sorry for the wait or tell me why the order was taking so long or say a single word period. . The only other customer in the restaurant with me at the time I'm writing this review said it best: "I don't even know how they stay in business honestly." This Dairy Queen is an absolute fucking wreck. They do not accept cards. They do not have any change of any kind. Exact dollars and cents only. As customers either left frustrated or ran to their cars to scrounge up change, the ceiling leaked on us in multiple spots. An employee confessed that one of the roof leaks was in the kitchen leaking into the fryer, which must be a health code violation. Even if you happen to have exact change and don't mind moldy ceiling water in your fry oil, they probably won't have the menu items that you want. It's dingy, run down, and there's really no reason to come here at all. My order was placed ahead of time, and I waited in the restaurant for 20 minutes past my promised pickup time and got to watch this shit show and write this review in that time. I used to come to DQ for chicken strips and blizzards. Last time i was at this location's drive-thru, they stop cooking at 8:45pm so the oil can cool down so they can leave earlier. Forget serving food for the time you're suppose to. My receipt time was 8:42pm, they "stop cooking at 45". After not understanding how they can stop cooking so early, I went inside to try and see what I was not comprehending. I spoke with a rude young guy, forget his name, but he was the person in charge. He kept walking away from me, avoiding to answer why they stopped cooking when they were suppose to still be serving food. Mind you, he rang us up before he said they stopped. He was disrespectful, and didn't care that a customer (who wasn't even raising his voice) in front of him was trying to have a conversation. I got a card for the owner (who was apparently on vacation for the week) and let very disappointed. Not an hour ago, my wife wanted a blizzard, reluctantly I went and got an XL Heath blizzard for her, and an XL Banana Split blizzard (minus chocolate -food allergy) for me. I got and XL and a L blizzard. Sigh! "Do I go in or just leave it, as I know it's the same kid working?" I go in, calmly state that they should both be XL. He charges me $1.27 without explaining why or apologizing for the mix up. I pay, he takes the Large and comes back four minutes later, "here." I got home, had my wife taste it to see if there was chocolate in it. I don't trust this kid, I've lost faith in this DQ. I'll go down the street and get Eegees. read more

What a rip-off! Ordered a child size chocolate sundae, and the owner's wife only filled my dish 1/3 of ice cream! When I asked her why the portion was so small, she said it's half the size of a small. What a joke! The portion she gave me was 1/4 the size of a small. I never would have thought that this hidden DQ would be so good! Its tucked away behind the Shell gas station, really small but don't let that fool you. Both times I've gone the food was hot and fresh. The chicken is crispy and tasty... and its real chicken. Even the lettuce and tomato on the crispy chicken sandwich were super fresh. The icecream is so so so good. The portions are huge for all of the icecream treats. Staff is friendly as well. As far as fast food goes this place is great. Definitely worth a try. read more

This DQ is tucked behind a Cox gas station on Oracle Rd. and Rudasill Rd. First of all the counter folks are all so nice. They always have big smiles to share with their customers that are craving for something gooey and sweet. Every once in awhile one needs a fix of sweetness to the nth degree. DQ is waiting for you. I get the smallest blizzard you can order and just savor over it's goodness. I don't do this too often because the guilt ravishes me. If it was possible to give a no star rating, I would have. The service at this DQ was horrible. My order was made incorrectly & the carmel topping was sticky and hardening on top. No effort was made to rectify the situation. I asked for and recieved a refund and took my money down the street to Swensons. MM MM GOOD!! i went to this dairy queen not expecting smoothies to be sold but as i approached the counter, i was pleased to see on the menu two different smoothie choices. one was premium, one was not. then, an angel from above assisted me and my friend, and helped me choose the best option for me which was the premium strawberry banana smoothie and man lemme tell ya, was that shit premium. it was a perfect mix of strawberry and banana and i would 10/10 drink again. also thank you to the angel that helped me make one of the hardest choices of my life. you're wonderful. read more

So, unfortunately I just had a really bad experience here. I went to the drive thru and ordered and I didn't feel anything was out of the ordinary. When I got to the window, I could hear the young lady who took my order complaining about how I had placed my order to a co-worker. It was pretty embarrassing to listen to and honestly, all I did, instead of her preferred method of ordering a meal and asking for a substitute on the drink, was to rephrase my order to ask for the items separately, just to make sure I was being clear and didn't place my order incorrectly. I wasn't trying to be rude at all, but that's what her and her coworker sure thought about me. It just felt really mean spirited. I understand that working in the food industry is tough and dealing with customers isn't always fun either. And maybe there were other factors going into why she felt she needed to vent about me, but if you are going to talk about people behind their backs at least make sure they can't hear you... read more

I love Dairy Queen, and I love Blizzards, but I am disappointed in this particular DQ's blizzards about 75% of the time. They seem to "milk down" their Blizzards because they are frequently very runny. Tonight they were super milky when we got them, drove them straight home (5minutes) and put them in the freezer to firm up for a half hour but they are still runny. Certainly not the Blizzard advertised on tv where they hold the full cup upside down to show how thick it is. These would pour out all over the place. Sometimes they seem thicker but then they are frequently not full. The staff always seems nice and the facility is pleasant and clean. I am so happy to have a DQ in this part of town, but this is a franchise and I expect my Blizzard to be of the same consistency and size as at other DQs. I've mentioned this to several friends and they concur that they are frequently disappointed in the size and the runniness of the Blizzards from this location. I'm rooting for this store - I just hope they'll follow the same standards as other DQs. read more
