We were there when this DQ was built some 45-50 years ago. Grew up in that neighborhood. This was our "Hometown" DQ. I still remember sitting in those booths with our parents having Grilled Cheese sandwiches back in the 70's. But, over the last 4-5 decades, that location has really gotten nasty. The building, the fixtures, the interior, the parking lot, that place is just nasty. I even got out of my truck one day and walked around the back where the door is, where the deliveries are made, the grease bin is, NASTY. Cannot imagine how nasty it might be in the kitchen area that we do not have access to, can not see. But, I used to still stop by there every once in a while after I got back to Lubbock. Until the blow up with the Rude Manager many here has spoken about. One Friday afternoon I stayed at my Shop out in Wolfforth late to catch up on a few things before the weekend. Knowing this location was always busy on Fridays I called in an order to pick up on my way home. Called in a 4 piece Country Basket with an EXTRA GRAVY. Girl said they're busy, give them 20 minutes. Said good, I'm out in Wolfforth, it'll take me a bit to get there. Took my time closing up shop, took off. I got there probably 30 minutes after I called in my order. 12 cars in the Drive Thru. I parked and went inside. As I'm standing there waiting behind this older couple taking their ever loving f'ing time to place their order (C'mon People, you're in your 80's. Dairy Queen menu has NOT changed in 60 years, YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE, you should know what you want by now!!!) I saw the Cook put a Country Basket Box up on the counter WITH MY EXTRA GRAVY on top of the box and put the ticket under the Gravy. Thought Good, timed it just right. 20 Minutes was actually 30-35 minutes. As that couple was still ordering, I watched the Kid working the Drive Thru walk over to that counter, Grab that Country Basket Box, look at the ticket, put the Ticket and the Gravy back on the shelf, and handed that Box out the window to someone going through the Drive Thru. I kind of thought Hmmmm. When I finally got to the register, Guy at Register looked back at Cook asking about my Order. Cook said it was right there. I told them that Kid at the window took it. That Kid DENIED IT. I looked at that Kid and asked, Are You Kidding ME?? I stood here and WATCHED YOU grab the Box, The Gravy, and the Ticket, look at the Ticket, put the Gravy and the Ticket back on the Counter, and hand that Box out the window. Now it was sitting at 40 Minutes since I ordered. I was hungry, tired, was tired of standing there, and wasn't going to put up with that. Manager tried to say it would be about 15 minutes to make another order since they were so busy. No apologies, even after I tried to point out what that Kid had done. How many people order a Country Basket WITH EXTRA GRAVY? That was my order sitting there, the ticket shows it was my order, and that Kid handed it out the window to someone who did not call their order in 45 minutes ago like I had done. F That. I walked out, have not been back since. I still stop by 7/11 every once in a while to get an Arizona Tea while out running errands. I look over at that Building and still see how disgusting that entire property is today. How it is still open amazes me. I will never step foot on that property ever again. Or, not until that Building is torn down and I walk across that Vacant Lot reminiscing back to the time when we walked across that Vacant Lot to get to the 7/11 that was where Scooters is now. read more

Horrible experience. Food was very poorly made. The kid with the dreads is disrespectful, and he's mad that I called him out on how bad his food was. But just wanted to get a quick meal for my fiancé before work. And it's been an absolute nightmare. Do not go here. Unless you want to be hangry. read more

I placed an order throu the drive through. I ordered a dip cone and burger and fries. as I got to the window I could see through the glass window in the kitchen. I co see the guy making the orders was not wearing gloves and touching the food with his bare hands. Disgusting . I drove off without getting my food and went to Taco Villa. read more

This one on indiana and 82nd has the worst staff, bunch of kids playing around and eating out of people's food. They always get the order wrong and are extremely slow. 30 minute wait just for a dipped cone!!!! read more

I've gone to this Dairy Queen for many years. Last night I ordered 2 blizzards and they were the worst I've ever had. I call and the Manager wouldn't even remake them for me! So bye bye DQ! I go here often and always have been pleased with the food. Today I stopped and got the taco special 3 tacos and a drink $4.99. Great price right? Not so much because I had trouble finding the meat. It was there but very little of it . Plenty of lettuce. I think they were trying to turn me into a vegetarian. read more

This place is awful from the people to the food! I grew up in a small west Texas town, where DQ was a great place to eat and friendly people waiting on you. That most certainly isn't the atmosphere here at this DQ. I just wonder how this place is still open. Stay clear of this place and just go to one the many Braum's here in Lubbock. read more

I only ever eat two things here: steak fingers and an Oreo blizzard. The steak fingers aren't the best in town but they are pretty good and served up quick. Just about everything on the menu if fried so be ready for a pretty big helping of grease. I honestly think without the Blizzard's, I would not go to Dairy Queen. Again, they are not the best but they are pretty dang good. If you ask politely the workers will usually give you 2 or 3 times the toppings without charging any extra. read more

They totally screwed up my order. I ordered the Dude combo with only onions &cheese. It had nasty mayonnaise & lettuce & tomato on it instead. The fries definitely were not fresh. I noticed it when I got home otherwise I would have had them fix it. I was charged for cheese & didn't get it. The lobby was filthy. They weren't so busy that they couldn't wipe down a few tables & spot sweep. I'll not go to that location again. read more

Their night manager has a bad attitude and has ZERO respect for the customer. I ordered 3 4pc steak finger baskets. Each bow had 1 steak finger. When i called the manager told me to come to the store and review the video that my order was fixed correctly, implying that I would lie about them screwing up. When I returned to the store she was irate and still wanting me to watch a video to prove herself right. Told her I was not interested in seeing her video just make it right, again she implied that I was trying to get over on her store. I am not sure what area of Lubbock she lives in, but I would wager nobody in the neighborhood of 82nd and Indiana is going to try to rip off DQ for their little $3 worth of food cost. The attitude kept spewing from her as she gave me a full refund. Obviously upset because I wasn't going to back down. I told her that her attitude was wrong and told her the correct way to handle the entire situation, to which she told me she handled it the way her bosses taught her. I find it hard to believe they train assistant managers to treat customers this way. As I walked out she said if you want to trash me on the internet do what you got to do. So here we are. Ever since they went to drive in only I haven't gotten a single order that was 100% correct. They repeat it back to me wrong. I correct them and it's still wrong. They were pretty bad when I went inside too but I was able to look at the receipt at least. It's close by and I like DQ so I kept going. The last 3 times were bad. Once I got incorrect change back but I didn't have time to argue about what I had given them. The other 2 I found hair in my food. Whatever. Plenty of other options. DQ is flat out expensive for a fast food restaurant. It's hard to resist their Butterfinger Blizzard though. Yes, their steak fingers rock too. If you're going through the drive-through, and you are ordering for more than 4 people, expect to have to drive your car around and wait. Whatever you do, do not let them give you your ice cream before pulling around (they always try this with me - knuckleheads). Finally, the staff is very friendly. If they make a mistake, which is rare, they always fix the issue. Oh also, they will replace that Butterfinger Blizzard if it melts while waiting for your order. ;-) read more

My fam and I ate here looking for a quick stop at the drive thru prior to leaving to Austin and that quick drive thru took about 15 mins. And when we got situated in the car , we take a zip of our drinks to realize the whole cup filled with ice! What can I say other than horrible. I was not impressed with this Dairy Queen. I went there expecting the chicken strips to be on special but I missed it so I ordered them anyway and ordered my son a junior hunger buster and small fry and also order a brownie earthquake. I waited in line for about 10 minutes before I got to the window to order because the people in front of me were being held at the window. After I finally get to the window and pay about 2 minutes later I get my ice cream and then wait some more until he finally came and asked me to pull around to the other door and wait some more. I sit there for another 10- 15 minutes for my food (while my ice cream is melting). I finally get my food and you would think since it took so long for them to cook it that it would be really hot, uhhh NO, it was only warm. I called the manager and he was not very friendly to me. I will not go back to this Dairy Queen ever. read more
