I agree with the first reviewer that the prices here are high. I purchased a wrap and a small drink for 15 dollars. The service and cleanliness of the restaurant were great. The restaurant is similar to subway or chipotle in the sense that you ask for specific ingredients as you go. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. There were several side options, which included pita chips, a croissant, soup, and pasta salad. I feel that the sides could be improved, but I will also admit that I've only eaten here once so far. I liked the different lemonade beverage choices. The raspberry lemonade was refreshing. The peach lemonade tasted too strongly of artificial sweetener to me. First and last trip here. The salad was fine. They had all the standard ingredients. The croissant roll was tasty as well. The restaurant was really hot and uncomfortable. It's a cramped space. The servers were friendly enough. It's the cost. A regular salad, a small salad, a small soup and two drinks came in at just over $40. Not long ago I could feed 3 people easily at Cattle Baron for that, before the tip. I LOVE salata and was super excited that we were getting one closer to us. My husband has never been. He decided to treat me and bring me lunch. He placed an online order, waited till it was the time he was told it would be ready and popped on in. He watched as order after order was taken care of. At one point, when they finally started working on our order, it was set aside to work on someone else's. Then when my husband asked about the order (he thought they might have forgotten) the staff was very rude to him. Keep in mind my husband is a very gentle, laid back man. For him to tell me that the staff was very rude to him is a big deal. Nothing typically ruffles his feathers. "One of the worst experiences" and "I probably won't go back" were a few things he said to me afterwards. read more

I have been to Salata in Dallas and Lubbock. They were equally good in terms of service, taste, food quality and quantity. Lubbock has so many restaurants but healthy options are limited. The servings are generous, if you are short on time I think you could get a medium and serve it as a side with a protein at home for a 4 people. Some reviews mention the price but better food quality cost more and it would be more expensive to buy all of the same quality ingredients (protein included) and make it at home for the same price. I think 2 people could easily get full on 1 medium too. I'm happy to see another location opening soon at Kingsgate. I hope that location stays open past 3:00 PM on Sunday. read more

I didn't know what to expect but my experience was amazing. They have so many options and they are not stingy with the food. They had a couple different dressing I had had before and the girl picked up on that and offered to let me try one. They make their own dressings. Very good price and fresh ingredients. $45 dollars for three small chicken salads - no drinks. There's NOWHERE to sit. Guests come in behind us and save tables while they wait for their friends so several people are literally eating their salad standing. The manager comes out and offers us a take out box instead of asking guests to kindly wait to be seated until their whole party is there. To add insult to injury- the whole family has food poisoning. UPDATE: I received a very professional email from the Lubbock owner of this business expressing apologies and upcoming changes. I respect that, if you love a huge salad this is your place.
