my family rarely go to Dairy Queen and I remembered why. The lady who attended us from inside was pretty rude. If she was the manager or lead she has no customer service nor patients. I was trying to order a cheese burger but I guess I didn't know there was so many "types" of burgers, the employer rudely said back "what kind a junior, regular, double". I got a grilled chicken salad and the ranch is chunky, the salad is slimey and half brown, and the chicken is chewy as heck. I also got steak fingers and the gravy is water, way way way more runny than the ranch. They filled my cup up with EXTRA ice so i had no drink and i specifically ordered LIGHT ice. I am a lover of all thing DQ, but this was a terrible experience! Ordered the taco salad as I do all the time, and asked for no tomatoes. I had to pull up and wait which I didn't have an issue with. Then when I got my food I drove off as I had to get back to work. When I get to work I have no sauce for my salad which I asked for and no fork to eat it. I had previously visited this Dairy Queen and gave a one star Yelp review; I was well aware of this fact when my grandfather called and asked if I wanted to take him to get ice cream. Knowing you don't like a place, when grandpa calls you damn well better pick him up and take him where he wants... you guessed it, the one star Dairy Queen. I can report that the main reason for the original negative review (the smell) had been fixed and the staff even seemed to (almost) be polite on this visit. The drinks were cold and the ice cream delicious, but a weird thing happened -- I realized this was a day care! No, not the drop your kids off while you work but rather the 'lets let our kids act a fool in public place while that old man in the corner tries to enjoy some ice cream.' By my count there were no less then 9 kids (7-14 y/o?) that thought this restaurant was there domain. Yelling, climbing, running, throwing, etc. Not all the kids were acting up/out as there was a very polite girl drawing a pumpkin; I believe she was waiting for a member of her family to finish working. If I had know who she belonged to, I would have thanked him/her for raising a child that isn't a terrorist in public. The happy hour prices here are nice, but the atmosphere is too much for me to handle. But, It's the closest thing Lubbock has to a zoo so at least it has that working for it. read more

I will never come to this establishment had some steak fingers and a drink with my cousin. Had to use the restroom it was the most disgusting it had two stalls and they were both full of in the toilet and some on the wall. Spoke to the manager (Theresa or Loretta)to see if she could send someone to clean it but all I got was I will send someone I only have 3 people working and I saw 5-6 people and she gave me an attitude and started to point her finger at me. The server taking our drive-through order didn't greet us, asked us, "That all?" and gave us our total without any salutation. At the window we listened to multiple conversations and profane complaints before being acknowledged and then we were told we would have to wait further without any expression of regret. Then they turned off the lights and we were expected to wait in the dark for our order. Needless to say, we didn't stick around. The treats are always good when they're made correctly, key being correctly. Every time I visit here the workers act as if they hate their job and their life and sometimes you. This was my second visit to this location and I honestly like this Dairy Queen! .. The guy taking my order was very polite and actually joked around with me without feeling like he was trying to just be nice and rush me along! .. The food was very fast and fresh and the woman who brought it out to me was very sweet and even apologized for some of my gravy spelling over some! .. There was one woman who was kinda rude but I have dealt with much worse customer service! This is the hangout spot for senior citizens nevertheless but I prefer them then rowdy teenagers or disrespectful people! Employees were not very friendly or welcoming. When our blizzard was flipped over, some spilled out of the cup and the employee wiped the cup down and tried to hand it to us anyway. Overall quality of the 4 other blizzards we ordered was not great. Lots of vanilla ice cream at the bottom because they were not correctly mixed. read more
