My fiance and I just stopped into this location and we were the only customers in the building. When we ordered the employees acted as if we were inconveniencing them... we came in over an hour after they opened and they appeared to have nothing prepped. There were no cucumbers or mayo available, then proceeded to give us mayo packets to put on our sandwiches ourselves. The panini and soup was good. A little confusing for the ordering process. You stand infront of the guy and he doesn't say anything to you so you move up the queue only to backtrack back to the guy that ignores you. Cashier was nice at the end and seemed to want to upsell on everything. But also you have to tell this guy what you ordered. Thankfully I was just ordering for myself and didn't have to remember a bunch of names of sandwiches. Perhaps the guy at the register should take the order and not the cook? I have been a customer of this sandwich joint for a few years now and never had issues up until recently. I could always rely on a good hot sandwich while at work. I especially enjoyed the $0 dollar delivery fee. But the past few times I ordered from here the sandwiches were either burnt or flaccid. Now as I'm trying to get some lunch today I noticed a delivery fee of 3.99. Why? Y'all don't even deliver the damn sandwich and you want to charge a delivery fee? That is doordashes job. I came into the restaurant across from Texas Tech, was greeted by a beautiful young woman with a pretty smile, answered all my questions about all my food allergies and she helped me choose my sandwich and talked me into adding a soup and a cookie. I had a great experience and looking forward to eating there again next time I go to Lubbock. The young woman's name was Erica if I remember correctly. as I say to eat and enjoy my meal, I saw that the store quickly got busy and i watched the flow of how quickly your team got through the customer needs and friendly service. I am glad that there is a descent sandwich place near Tech. And I am glad that I tried this place finally! I have seen Potbelly at many college towns but the word "potbelly" kind of scared me away because that's definitely not something I want to have :-) When I am on the run and cannot afford much time for lunch, this has been my to-go place for the past months. And, their sandwiches made with fresh ingredients made me feel energized right away. What really makes me happy about this place is the bread quality. Some sandwich chain uses bread that just looks and taste sad but it is not the case for Potbelly. Their bread has right (a bit chewy but still soft)) consistency and it does not get soggy at all even after carrying the sandwich for a while. Plus, their ingredients are always fresh and people who work there are very friendly. My favorites are Mediterranean and turkey BLT (on original bread) sandwiches. I highly recommend Mediterranean because the hummus they use for this sandwich just tastes perfect. It's not too garlic-y (means that we can eat it before meeting people) and it's filled with fresh veggies. I often get their sandwich as to go but the ambience is pretty nice, too! I am so surprise with this yummy sandwich haven. They had live music on a Tuesday for lunch. What a delight. It was a lovely older gentleman playing his guitar. He was a very nice musician to accompany my chicken and cheese flatbread sandwich. I added bacon and avocado and dipped my flatbread in ranch. It was very fresh and the perfect amount to fill me up, but not make me feel fat like the michelin man. They staff was helpful, I haven't been very many times. I stopped by for the first time today only to be disappointed. After quickly walking in, I ordered my go-to...uptown salad. Sounds delicious until the person working there doesn't know what their doing and/or I guess doesn't know how to read the description on the menu. How do you end up with egg on an uptown salad? Ask the Potbelly Lubbock staff who clearly need more training. While making my salad he kept using his forearm to rub his nose. DISGUSTING! On a normal day, I'm a huge fan. Returning to the topic of cookies: they have a 5" diameter, and they're baked fresh daily. They offer sugar cookies, brownie chocolate chip, and their classic OCC (oatmeal chocolate chip) that is worth buying someone if you want to boldly tell them you love them. All three are so, so good. At only $1.25/cookie, skip the soda and choose the cookie. Their catering is also amazing. They sell really, really reasonably priced meals as simple as just sandwiches, or the whole shabang. All sandwich toppings come on the side, making feeding a crowd so much easier. The Potbelly team has always been prompt in delivery, and they set up the entire spread for you. And they don't accept tipping and there's no delivery fee - they are always so kind and just want you to enjoy your big party of goodies! A group of friends and I went here the other day when Torchy's was too packed for a quick lunch. The staff was fabulous, helpful and funny, but one of the guys told me it would be the best sandwich I had ever eaten, even "better than Scholtzky's." Nope - it wasn't (was pretty much the same). It was really crowded and it would have been nice if there had been additional seating. They had a live singer and it was loud enough to hear, but not so loud that I couldn't carry on a conversation with my friends. The outside patio looked nice, but it was unfortunately too cold outside for that! The drink selection was extensive, with bottles of juices, water, etc. at the front and a soda fountain machine at the back. I am disappointed with the new menu. They have eliminated the veggie sandwich and the chickpea salad. Now, there is only one vegetarian option on the menu (the Mediterranean sandwich).
