It has been years since I've visited a Dairy Queen and it was my first time at this location. I will say this location is walk up only place so it's more for to go orders. They have a few side benches but not much space to sit down. I only ordered a dipped cone with their new cinnamon toast crunch dip and service was super fast. I had just ordered when they were already handing me my cone. The cone itself was not bad it didn't taste much like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and wasn't that sweet. i prefer my usual plain vanilla cone. Horrible customer service. Me and my son were at the window and they shut the window in front of us and didn't even say be right with you and then skipped us and called the next person to other window rather than helping us. When I asked them she said you should of went to other window. Saying hello and actually acknowledging customers right away goes a long way. We left and went to Jamba juice. Always great service but this younger Hispanic girl at the register who was speaking to my mom in Spanish got her order wrong and was being really rude when we were telling her that it wasn't what we ordered. This review is solely about the inefficiency of the line. For unknown reasons, there's only one line that starts 10 feet away from the 2 windows, which can be confusing because to an onlooker it seems like a bunch of people are trying to wait out of the way for their orders to be made. Additionally, they take your order and then make it immediately rather than having an assembly line. Just doesn't make sense. Blizzards are fire tho. read more

I was in a disbelief as I have ordered this for the past 20 years any time I come to Dairy Queen, she explained it's against her policy and in no matter tried to help or resolve my request . I continued to explain to her that what I am asking for is very straight forward and simple nothing hard about serving vanilla icecream and adding M&ms on it ? She then told me she do a blizzard and I told her no I don't want the M&ms mixed in . She was completely unhelpful and knew she made no sense . This place gas no customer service skills and apparently adding a topping is to much work for them . Complete waist of time! So I left and went to the other Dairy Queen on California street . They were able to help me out no problem . This location on Magnolia looks disgusting old small and gross . Do yourself a favor and drive an extra 5 min for a much better Dairy Queen experience! Americana and once ubiquitous with spring to fall, at least in Michigan, DQ can be found in many cities and sometimes along rural highways (Magnolia in Riverside is part of Historic Route 395). This location is open year around though and only serves ice cream and beverages. It's a popular spot and appeals to families enough to almost always have a longish line waiting to order during hours of operation. Aside from occasional new or promotional items the menu here is fairly orthodox. Diverse with options, something new has occurred though, I overhead an employee telling a kid ahead of me in line that for his Sundae whipped cream and nuts are separate charges now. I loved their soft serve ice cream as a kid and it's practically the same today, but here's to mass appeal and relative simplicity! read more

The problem is the other location is much further away. It's not worth driving so far and this location has the worst service. There were 4 workers, but it still seemed incredibly slow. Came here to get the traditional blizzards they're known for. They had a few new flavors. The Oreo brownie blizzard was really good. Similar to a cookies and cream with brownie bites mixed in. I've had so many bad experiences here I couldn't begin to list them all. The highlights: Asked for a blizzard made with chocolate ice cream. They gave me vanilla. I asked for it to be corrected. This so grieved the employee that she jammed the blizzard machine so hard into the cup that it punctured the paper cup. Trying to be clever, she then wrapped it in a napkin so I didn't notice the joke until the ice cream began leaking all over me & my car. When I returned it again, she tried refusing to remake it (for a third time) or to refund my money. The last two times, there was no Reese cups in my blizzard. When brought yo their attention, they explained they were running low on product & only "crumbs" were left. She literally showed me the container. Okay but that's not my problem. I paid for something I didn't receive. She refused a refund & management refused to speak with me. What kind of scam is that? Another customer was literally in tears as they pulled the same thing on her. I love DQ products. I've been a loyal customer for years. But the poor customer service, dreadful management, & lack of quality is a disservice to the brand. I'm curious how often franchises are reviewed. This location will ruin your night. read more
