What a fun place to shop! Little treasures throughout the store. Amazing prices. I found a small three-drawer clear plastic box for $3. Paid much more for similar item on Amazon. The Japanese "Dollar Store." My fiance saw some items "made in China" so I'm not sure if you can say that everything is made in Japan. A majority of their items are $1.50 (some are $1, a small few are $5-$10). I read somewhere that they wanted to convey the idea that things are little "better quality" than the typical dollar store that's why it's $1.50. There are things that you get a bargain on and some you don't (ex: gum for $1.00 or snacks that you normally get under $1.00 are $1.00 or $1.50 at Daiso). I guess it balances out costs. I didn't really see much that I would go crazy on, except $1.50 lashes---good deal! They have the basics for your home here, functional things, things you don't need but think are cute, things that you never knew existed, things you never knew you needed ---kitchenware, scarves, storage items, organizational items, tools, fake flowers, pet supplies, makeup, skincare, snacks & drinks, dress shirts, ties, and even underwear! I went on a Sunday and the line went all the way back towards the snack area. Line moves fairly quickly so I wouldn't mind coming back to browse. NO REFUNDS. $10 CREDIT CARD MINIMUM. The fist time I came here I was like a kid in a candy store. I didn't buy a lot but it was fun to check out all this Asian stuff. I bought the makeup wipes from here and I am in love with it! The second time I came back, I actually purchased 5 packs. I live in Arkansas so I had to stock up. I would visit this place again just for the makeup wipes and maybe a few household items. Bessssst place for cute little things. I've only been here once before writing this review, but I think this is the cutest Japanese product store in the Dallas area. They have many items, from dishes to storage to makeup, with most of the products in the store being equal or less than $3. A big plus is that it is near Kung Fu Tea;) Also, everything you buy is final sale. No returns. However if I ever get dissapointed with a product, it's not that big of a loss to my wallet (considering everything there is not pricey). read more

I finally visited this store on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty empty (for those of you who complain that it's crowded.. it's the only Daiso in Texas right now). I use to live in Japan so quality wasn't an issue for me when choosing my products. The store is very clean and organized. I do wish they would get rid of their young (most likely a teenager) brunette cashier w/ glasses and a hat.. that dude sucks at customer service!! read more

Never buy food here! They are selling expired food and still not sorry? I got some candies and bubble gum for my kids' snack. When I opened the box of gumball and put one in my three year old son's mouth, he frown and spit it out. I checked expiration date and it was covered up with a sticker saying "food sale #1 $1". I peeled the sticker off, the date was showing it was expired about a month ago. I felt even worse because I put two boxes of them in my other sons lunch box to share with his friend. I callled to store, talked to worker there if they have noticed this was expired. She said they know it, and also told me that it is still okay to eat up to three months passed expiration date? The lady I talked to said it tells you on the sticker that it's expired food. Where on sticker or package says so? And if I knew that, how would I put it in my son's mouth that moldy thing? I took a close look, and It was a bit melted and had some molds around the gum already, and She says its still edible! She told me to bring it back for money back, well, 20mins of driving for getting $1 back? I don't think so, but I said instead tell your manager to take them off the shelves so other people don't buy them like me. She said no, you talk to my boss. I asked her boss' name and number, she said leave yours instead. She even hung up on me when I was asking for her manager on the phone! Well it is a dollar store, so I deserve a custome service a dollar worth? I am never going back to this store in the future. BEWARE to buy any food there, Remember to check the expiration date HIDDEN under the sticker unless you loved to eat a piece of mold! For both food they sell And customer service they offer, I am terribly disappointed. Shame on you DAISO. If I could, I will leave them ZERO star! First of all, this store has a no return policy, I am fully aware of that and have no problem with it. Typically items in the store are around $1.5 to $2.5 but we saw a lawn chair priced at $7 and it looks all right. Before paying it at the cashier's we want to make sure the item was not broken and worked because of the no return policy. The cashier stopped us saying it is store policy that no item can be 'checked out' before purchasing. Seems a bit unreasonable so I asked for the manager, the cashier said the manager was not in the store at the time. This happened on Saturday, May 6th around 10:30 am. read more

I went to their grand opening and there was so many peoples! The line looked long but we didn't have to even wait that long. The store is pretty big. They have all kinds of Japan made things there all for $1.50! Some clearance items are $1.00 & candy but majority is all $1.50. I saw some plates that are good quality for $5-$8. As far as dollar stores go, this is where you will get the most bang for your buck. Plus it's very clean and bright inside. This place is great for stocking up on seasonal items (scarves, socks, cheap decorations), space organizers and even super cute dishes. A great place to stock up on household items for people who have just moved, or college students on a budget. I LOVE this place. It's hard to control yourself and not buy all the knick-knacks you might never use. If you spend your money wisely though, you'll really enjoy your purchases. Personally, my favorite purchases are a clothes brush and a mini flour sifter. Some items are not worth the money, but it's not hard to figure it out eventually. I love Daiso! Been a huge fan for a long time and I am so happy that it is in the DFW area now. Most items are only 1.50 and you can pretty much find anything here from cleaning products, kitchenware, stationary, snacks, gardening items, beauty products to pretty much anything you need for your home. Daiso and I have a love hate relationship. I love everything in the store but hate how it affects my wallet. There are practical must have inventions and gadgets in all areas of the store like electronic eraser, gardening spouts for regular water bottles, patio cushions, things that seals bags of chips with heat... there's simply too much to list. The cashiers are quick to tend the lines and makes you aware when the cost of an item is more than $1.50. I think it's nice quality and love coming home with bags of goodies! read more

After frequenting the 100 yen shops for the last 20 years in Japan, it is good to have a Daiso nearby. They carry a lot of the same stuff as in Japan, with few differences. Not quiet the 100 yen in price, closer to 2-3 dollar price range depending on items. It is a nice convenience to have if you are Japanese or have Japanese friends or family members. read more

My first day there I was very disappointed. Everything was sold out. I went back with my best friend and they had restocked. I didn't get everything I wanted because it was sold out but I got a few items. Maybe in a fee weeks it will be better. Don't get the bread, it had a weird smell and tasted like rubbing alcohol. Lots of cute items and it made me want to cook. I'm giving this place a 3 star because I know there's going to be better stuff and less crowded in the near future. read more

I don't understand how and why people are complaining so much. The selection is vast from chair socks () to frypans. The service was nice. The couple times I asked a sales assistant where a product was she responded with a smile and lead me to it. When there wasn't a product she would look extra hard in the back until she found it or would return with an object similar to it. The cashier individually wrapped my glass container without me even requesting it. All the prices were as low as they could be with quality items. As for all the complaints of the empty inventory of the shop, it's not bad at all. There might have been a few (4-5) 3/4 empty shelves but all the rest were at least 7/10 full. They offered a wide variety of American and Japanese objects. While the store might be a tad smaller than the ones in LA and other locations, it still has much to offer! read more

My friends told me about this store and wonderful it is. They were not lying. You can find almost anything there from kitchenware to cute little knick-knacks without breaking the bank. I found that the quality of many of the items were a lot better than your typical dollar store fare. I wish there was one in Austin. This is a neat Japanese discount store. Unlike most dollar stores which are cramped and have a general aura of trashiness, the store here is spotless. The interior sports polished, white tile floors and bright lighting. Everything is organized and clean. Most of the items seem to start at $1.50 exactly. The most amazing thing is that there are many products here actually worth buying. Earbuds, mechanical pencil lead, pliers and screwdrivers, toothbrushes, strainers and single pieces of dishware were all at $1.50 and up. Most of this stuff would run $5 a piece at places like Wal-Mart. While not everything is necessarily made in Japan, most of the products sold here appear to have a reasonably good build quality. The problem with this store is that similar stores rely on selling disposable impulse buy items that keep people coming back. Whether this store can stay in business selling high quality products at low prices remains to be seen. I would recommend bringing cash, as they don't accept credit cards, and debit required a minimum purchase amount. read more

I've been waiting for this store to open in Texas, and my dreams came true. I have been here several times (I live about an hour away) and I can say that the long wait for this store's arrival is well worth it! The ambiance of the store is very nice and white (so, so, so white). They do sell seasonal things, like halloween decor during October, and Christmas decors during December. For this time of the year, it's a perfect place to find stocking stuffers or little gifts for a cheap price! The store is also very clean, but the cashier lines are very long most of the time (10-30 mins long). Most items here are about $1.50, but sometimes you'll see items that are more "expensive" (they'll have a sticker indicating the price if it's more than $1.50). I bought a small bowl there a month ago for 1.50 and nonstick star ice cube tray. They hold up so well! The ice cube tray really doesn't stick!! Great quality not like the cheap dollar store brands like dollar general or stuff. The store and clean and not dirty. want to go back and get more!! read more

Having a Daiso this close to home ( 8 hour drive ) is quite nice! I love their bath scrub towels. It's definitely a smaller store, but most of what daiso is known for is there! Cashier spoke mandarin and was really nice to my son at checkout. read more
