I usually enjoy my occasional trips to Daiso because I hardly ever encounter rude employees until yesterday. I was merely asking Van, a cashier, if there was a restroom. I think she replied to me, but I didn't hear her. After I asked again, her eyes widened, and she looked at me dead in the eyes, saying NO. She then proceeded to act like nothing had happened, using the fake "nice" voice that she had used before. Just based on this, I truly question her character and how she even became to become an employee with that attitude. This place had many things I liked, but they had a small selection for the drain catchers for the sink, whatever you call it. Good selection of items. Cashier was not friendly and helpful. Asked if they had a case of the tea in the back and she flat out said that's all they had without even verifying. Rather then putting all the teas we got in a bag, she just put it in a shallow cardboard box where it could just all fall out. 100 yen store. I'd always wanted to go check one out, thanks to immense signage, I have now seen one in person. Maybe not the best one, but one. There were so many great buyables. Where to start? Utensils that I don't need, snacks that I don't need, dishes that I don't need, things that move that I don't need. If you don't need it, Daiso has it! Almost everything here is $1.50! WHAT RIGHT?! I mean the most expensive thing I saw in the store was probably the $7.00 sake set. For those of us who may want a good deal on stuff, cheap stuff only for needed for one event, or are actually poor (like myself), then Daiso is the way to go. You can find brooms here, pans, house slippers, underwear (I mean if you need it), and other gizmos and gadgets. I like to go here for dusters, cotton, and when I just want to buy random things for the house. I go to this store with one thing in my mind and end up with a billion things that I didn't need. Mind you though that some items are cheaply made and you know the phrase, "you get what you pay for." I look at this stuff for short-term use and never long-term. I think I can't give this place 5 stars because some of the workers don't know where things are sometimes... One time, I asked where the chargers were and they said they didn't have it while another worker said aisle 8... Hmm. Some workers need a tad more training or they may need to get familiar with their work environment a bit more. They may also need to work on their retail skills and just say, "I don't know, but let me get back to you please." I'm obsessed with Daiso. It is literally the cutest store EVER. It kind of like an adorable, Japanese version of the 99 cent store but everything is $1.50. This location in Garden Grove is a really good one. They have a big selection of things and everything is clean and well stocked. I've been to other Daisos that aren't as nice as this one and that don't have as good of a selection. Some good things to get at Daiso: - Plastic containers for your lunches. Stop using plastic bags and get yourself some cute little boxes to put your sandwich and snacks in! - Lunch bag. I got the cutest pink, insulated lunch bag from this location and I'm obsessed. I have been 4 locations now and I would have to say I lije this one the best because stuff is always in stock at this location. Could be because its still a fairly new location. This place is a haven for ocd freaks like me.They have the most random stuff here. From organization products, beauty, kitchen and even food.Most everything is $1.50 unless it is priced otherwise. Very nice this and that kind of store. Its basically a store you can buy a little of this and some of that and even if you dont intend to buy this or that, you still end up with lots of it. We decided to check it out because we are missing our dollar stores in Hawaii, it's been a while since we've had one around... if we weren't on vacation I definitely would have bought more items. There were seasonal items for Easter since it was around that time. There were makeup items, storage and organization, pet items, kitchen items and many more. Since we had just gotten our pup at the time I bought her some socks and a bath towel. My kids ended up getting a bunch of snacks to bring into Disneyland. Now, Daiso has finally opened a location on Oahu, but it definitely doesn't compare. The prices at this Daiso are very reasonable. I wouldn't say the items are very good quality though. This is place is great, of course I was skeptical at first because when things come at such a low price it tends to be very low quality. I came in here first because I heard it was very hip and I found myself buying things I didn't know I would need until I went in the store. All the things I bought so far have been working great and it is unexpectedly great quality. The costumer service is very friendly, the cashiers are nice and aren't impatient. They take their time to wrap every single dishware. which I find must be very tedious. Stepheny was very welcoming when she rang me up, we were able to have a nice short conversation. One time I bought the wrong flavor chips and the ask if I could change it, but they nicely told me I couldn't, Which I understand it is their policy and it was my mistake that I grabbed the wrong one. So what I'm saying is you shouldn't write a bad review simply you changed your mind or messed up. It isn't bad costumer service if they won't exchange it for you, they are simply following a store policy. read more

I like this store. Everything runs between $1-$3. Some items you can find at a dollar tree for a little less but still not too bad. Everything is final sale after purchase, so be sure you want the items! I was introduced by a friend who says there was one in Irvine. During our break at Beauty School, a few of us stopped in. They have lashes, socks, scarfs, bags, pouches, folders, key chains, storage bins, kitchenware, buckets, brooms, nail polish, make up, hair products, shampoo, conditioner, chips, drinks, a few christmas items, and the list goes on and on. There's something about this Daiso that makes it so hot. I mean literally they need to turn on the AC instead of skimp. One time it was so hot you could smell everyone's perspiration as you walked by them. The price is decent and although there are no returns or exchanges, there is no need to do so because if it breaks, the price is so cheap, just buy another one. I think the fact they do not accept returns or exchanges is why their cost is so low. I can find all kinds of simple knickknack here that is steps above what you can find at dollar tree or 0.99 store. The people are definitely different too. Items are mainly for the home, with a few other selections! I spent about $80 on just treat bags for 30 3rd grade students for Halloween. You can't find these type of bags anywhere in Hawaii, so I stocked up! I probably have enough treat bags for the next 2-3 years haha. Also bought some odds and ends like cookies and toiletries for our stay in Cali. Definitely coming back on our next visit to LA. read more

Woohoo! They finally opened a Daiso closer to home! I went here after going to the bank to check it out (there is a Chase conveniently located in the same plaza). Daiso is like the 99c store with two major exceptions: 1. Most things are $1.50 2. Japan/general Asian items will be found here Daiso has many items that are good ideas and are useful, and it also has a lot of cutesy items if you have a little sister, niece, or girlfriend to get stuff for. Just be careful with charge cables because they aren't certified so they may burn your phones/electronic devices... however that goes with all electronic cables that go for cheap. One problem you may find, as do many people, is that you leave spending so much because you buy so much unneeded stuff! It's like "oh this is nice and only $1.50" here and there, then it adds up to something ridiculous like $50. Self-control is a pre-req for visiting Daiso! My typical review for many places consists of "environment", "service", and "food/inventory", but to keep it short and sweet: Daiso is above average in all aspects. Overall: 4/5 Daiso is the Asian alternative to the 99c store with things probably more relevant than you think. read more

I like this Daiso way better than the one in Stanton, I think it may be smaller but it actually has a better variety of items. Everything there is so cool and interesting that whenever I walk in, I want to buy one thing but more things just add in :((( I actually bought a belt, and 2 ties :) good quality and price, way cheaper than any dept store. I honestly thought the store was great at first when I walked in, but then their customer service was just so bad. I wore a red shirt and they rudely asked me to show them my shirt. Are you saying I can't wear a red shirt to Daiso? Did Daiso copyright the color red? You just don't ask a customer to show you their shirt. Target doesn't even do that. One of the cashiers also refused to be my cashier and told me to go to a different person while she wasn't helping anyone. I believe that cashier should be fired. You are being paid to be a cashier not to stand there and look pretty. If you want to get paid for standing there and looking pretty, go to a strip club or harbor. Even then you will have to do more than just standing there and looking pretty. Daiso's products are very cheap but their customer service is also very poor. read more

Daiso is cool for quick basic needs like sponges or basic supplies. This location does not carry most of what I would buy but in general Daiso covers basic quick toss needs that should not have to cost more than 1.50. There are items that are over 1.50, so make sure to look for the price signs before getting upset at the front counter, like I see many people do. just a tip read more

This was amazing! I used to live in Yokohama and the Machida station had a 5 story Daiso. I was so excited to come across this one after a visit to Disney! It's all the inexpensive Japanese dollar store stuff you could ever want. Except most stuff is 1.50. I love the stationery, bento box stuff, containers, and other kitchen supplies. I got a zipper mesh bag for my laundry and some chocolate Pocky. Japanese know cute and they have some wonderful products you never knew you needed. Yeeeessss. Excellent selection. read more
